Despite the bad reviews, I went ahead and ordered these when they went on sale. I'm very glad that I did! Here's my opinion: Size I normally wear a 6.5 so I ordered the 7. It is a great fit (I fit in the 6 in Sorel Joan of Arctic and a 7 in Northface Shellista). This might not be the best boot for those with a full size foot, because you would have to go up a full size, and not just a half. I don't suggest buying a 7 if you wear a 7, they will be too small. Keep in mind that these are not meant to be worn without the inserts like a Sorel boot. The insert is 7 layers, and feels like you are stepping into a boot full of marshmallows. This of course means that the fit is snug, but NOT uncomfortable. If you read about these boots on the Baffin website, the sole of the inner boot is like a memory foam, and will conform to your foot after a few wears. They also suggest you try on just the insert first (outside of the boot) to see about fit. If the insert fits your foot, then the boots are the right size. Comfort - I think these are very comfortable - more so each time I try them on. The laces pull very easily to tighten them, and can even be worn without tightening for running the kids to school. I have two concerns - the outer sole doesn't look like it will offer a lot of traction, which is a concern when I am carrying my 20mo old on ice. Also, the rubber part of the outsole is deemed 'waterproof' but not the suede upper. This isn't a huge issue, but something to consider. Also, they are bulky (they're snowboots after all) and so jeans really need to be tucked in, and living in Colorado, I may need the warmth factor even when there's no snow on the ground, so it would be nice to be able to pull jeans down over the boots.

I wear a size 8 shoe, and the 9 in this boot fits perfectly with a medium weight sock. They feel very comfortable around the house so far. I tried the 8, and it was tight in the toes and slipping in the heels. I was worried the 9 would be even looser in the heels, but somehow they fit great. I called Baffin to ask if the uppers are waterproofed and was told yes, but if I noticed any water spots after a few months of wearing them they can be sprayed with a suede friendly waterproofing product. I don't like intense arch support, so the, what I would call normal, amount of support is great. The cushioning is nice, and for me it's not weirdly marshmallowy as another reviewer found. So I hope this helps someone, but sometimes you just gotta try 'em.

The other reviewer who complained about the sizing was right. I wear a 10. A true 10. This boot felt like a 9 with the liner in it. Without the liner it is useless to me. I need a boot for cold, snowy outdoor use. Too bad because when I took this out of the box I thought it was perfect for my needs. But I can't put it on. They should have accounted for the difference the liner would make when they sized these.

I love these boots! Super comfy and warm! I wear a half size so I went up to the next size.

Great boots. Excited for winter! Beware - these do run small. I wear a 9.5 and ordered a 10. Had to send it back for an 11. So they look huge on my foot - but still an attractive design. They seem like they will be exceptionally warm...better than most brands because there is a thick sole that will provide a lot of insulation between the snow and your foot. But can't truly comment until the snow falls.

Love the boot, but too narrow across foot. Luxuriously soft. Wish it wasn't narrow. I wear 7-7 1/2 but ordered 8 hoping it would be wide enough. Presses on outer edge. So sad it doesn't come in wide.

I just test-drove my new Baffin Judy's in sub-zero Minnesota. They are awesome. Super comfy, toasty warm, good traction. I ordered them a 1/2 size too large in order to accommodate my custom orthotics and they fit perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased!

Other reviewers were correct and sizing problems if you typically wear a full (not half) size. I'm a typical size 9, but this 9 was too snug whereas my foot slipped around in the size 10. So disappointed they do not offer half sizes. They're going back!

The boots were comfortable right out of the box. Went on easy, the ties allow you to tighten the shaft to fit calf. They are well made and perfect for my snow hikes with my dog. I walked thru about 10" of snow and across some packed ice with no slips.

Just got them. All the reviews said they ran small. I normally get a size 10. I ordered a size 11. They fit perfect. Great for walking the dog. Not for the runway.

Needed a boot for working in the snow to deep snow hiking, through all types of weather and I can honestly say these boots fit the part very well for me. Always dry. I'm very happy.

I bought these to wear in Austria in January on a trip. They were perfect, warm, comfortable and stylish. I would definitely recommend these boots. It was recommended to order a size bigger but I wear a 9 and the size 10 was too big. The 9 fit perfect.

This year I decided to be a practical Minnesotan and buy "real" boots. Since all Sorels were sold out in my size, I decided to try these out. They're great. They're incredibly warm and waterproof. I love the closure, which makes taking them on & off easy. My only complaint is that they are almost too big around the calves. I have them pulled as tight as they go, and have normal sized calves, so don't purchase if you have fairly skinny legs! I'm usually a 10/10.5, and bought an 11 which is only a teeny bit too big.

These are great boots. Would highly recommend them. They are extremely warm, look nice, and are very comfortable. I am 5'4, wear 6 size shoe but I do have large calves. Those these boots say they are 17 " diameter, which seem very large, the liner takes up a lot of that room. There was enough room to tuck my pants inside the boot - but just barely. I ordered a size 8 (I wear a 6) and they fit perfectly. I wouldn't have wanted them any smaller. They do run very small.

Awesome. Warm, warm, warm! I never write reviews, but these boots are worth a review. I have been looking for a warm boot for three-plus years. Tried Sorrel and many other expensive boots - none really kept my feet warm while outside. Went outside today in 10 plus inches of snow. 15 degrees outside. My feet were in the snow two-plus hours non-stop playing with the kids. My feet were warm the entire time! I had frostbite when I was younger and my toes now hurt in any kind of cold weather. These boots are the warmest boots I have found in years. So happy I found them!

I received these boots for Christmas from my husband. After reading the prior comments, I recommended to him that he order them a size bigger than my normal shoe size, and it worked out perfectly! I love these boots. They look great, and are so comfortable too. I can't wait for the first snowfall!

These boots are great. I have a wide calf 16.5" and these fit great. As the other reviews went I ordered a size up. Probably could have went half a size smaller but not given that option. The style is great, but this is a bigger boot meant for outdoor activities. Haven't tried it in the cold and snow yet but this is a very durable boot.

This boot is amazing! Super warm especially for aurora chasing in Alaska! Glad I gave in and made this purchase!

These boots are so warm I love them. Initially the insert feels snug. Take it out of the boot to try it on. Usually I wear 6.5 or 7 shoe & I went back and forth between a 7 & 8 boot. Size 7 insert was snug & size 8 felt good, but when I wore the boots around the house the 8 slipped a lot and felt to big. Glad I went with the 7. After wearing to work 1 week the insert molds to your foot and I have plenty of room. It's not snug anymore. Highly recommend them.

I am so glad I purchased these boots. They are extra warm and water-proof. Perfect for snow. It is true that they fit a whole size (if not a size and a half) smaller, but this can be fixed by buying a larger size.

Because of all the reviews of Baffin boots, I was puzzled which size to buy. Based on this particular boot's reviews, I got the boots in my normal size. The fit is perfect; I won't need to break them in. They are exceptionally comfortable, like walking on clouds, a little clunky to walk in but not bad. I wore them outside in the snow and my feet stayed warm but didn't overheat. I can pull them off and on without untying. I am so happy with these boots.

These are so comfy!!! I wear an 8.5 in heels and a 9 in flats/sneakers and ordered a 10 and they're perfect. They're warm and soft. The elastic lace up the front allowed me to tighten them around the ankle and up the calf so they're not so clunky. Super happy with them!

Keeps my feet warm and dry even in 5 degree weather. A little stiff but overall a great boot.

I love these boots, they are so comfortable and cozy. However they do run small so go up a half size I did and was glad. I highly recommend these boots.
