These shoes are amazing! You can smell the real Leather. I can wear them all day and I get tons of complements on them too. No regrets on this purchase. First time paying this much on boots but I am glad I did.

I am in love with these short boots. I purchased the Cognac Stone Antique and although they look like they have been worn in a barnyard, they smell like rich leather and look amazing on. I much prefer the rounded toe to the squared toe on some of the other harness styles. They look amazing with skinny jeans or leggings due to the back zipper making it fit closer to the ankle. Now on to the zipper...it can be difficult at first, but I rubbed a little paraffin wax on the zipper and worked it up and down a few times before putting them on my foot again and this worked wonders.

I wear between a size 7 1/2 and size 8. I bought these in 8 and they almost fit too perfectly. I like their fit and I will keep them at this size, but I could not wear them with a thick sock. The first thing I noticed is that they are incredibly well made and durable. I have never owned a pair of Frye boots and in the pictures they looked lighter in weight and the leather looked thinner and more buttery. These are not too intense, I think they looks really cute on and very stylish, but the leather is thick and the shoes are more heavy duty than I expected. I'm kind of excited about this because I think with good care they will last for a really long time. The next thing I noticed: yes, like everyone else says, the zipper is hard to work. I've found a way to zip them on and off pretty easily, but it did take some messing around on my part to see what worked. Additionally, the zipper kind of rubs on the back of the leg/heel when walking - this could be that I just need to break it in more, I'm not sure. It's more comfortable with a good pair of socks and some tights/leggings. They are pretty comfy straight out of the box, but definitely don't have the greatest arch support and they are kind of stiff. I think with time they will soften up a bit more and probably feel more comfortable in general. Otherwise, very cute style, well made, I have them in black and I think they are versatile.

I have always wanted a pair of Frye boots, but have always found them slightly painful (too tight/narrow), so have never bought a pair. Finally I broke down and tried again! These boots are cute and completely comfortable from day one! Yeah! Also I love the light color for traveling down south. The only negative is I have to wear long socks, because anklets fall down, and there is a piece of nylon sticthing that rubs against my skin. I usually wear a 9-9.5 in shoes, but a 9.5 - 10 in boots. The 10 fits great!

I love these boots! Most comfortable boots ever. And super versatile.

A damn fine boot. For me, they seem to run true to size. The back zipper on one of the boots was a bit stiff at first. But, it was nothing that would prevent me from buying every pair in the world and giving to all the best people. No, it would be money that prevented me from doing that.

Gave these to my daughter for Christmas and she loves them. No break in time needed. Comfortable right out of the box.

I tried about 5 pairs of boots before I decided on these. They are great. They are versatile. I can wear them either over or under jeans and pants. They are very comfortable right out of the box. The zipper is tough to zip at first, like many of the reviews said, but it is getting easier with the number of wears. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone.

Just got them yesterday. I can't believe I got them in one day! Zappos you are the best! I love these boots they fit great! I have a narrow heel which is usually an issue with boots but not these! I purchased the red and I may just get another pair in another color that's how much I love them! I have them on now going to the family's house for Thanksgiving!

Not red, looked like orange or burnt orange to me. Felt a bit big to me, width is tight as Frye usually is so it can stretch to fit nicely. I wanted reddish color so I returned. Nice feature is the small top, smaller around the ankle than the buckle one for a neater fit.

When I tried on the boots for the first time, I got worried. The width felt snug, almost too snug, and the zippers were barely moving up and down. I put the boots aside with every intention of sending them back. Then, after about a week, I decided to give them a try. I knew that once I wore them, I could not return them, but I put them on, had my husband help me pull up the zippers, and I walked out of the house. I wore the boots the entire day that included sight seeing and walking from shop to shop. The boots ended up fitting like gloves. At the end of the day, the zippers glided down without a hitch and without my husband's help, the leather had become suppler, the initial snugness disappeared, and my feet did not feel tired at all. I am used to the comfort of Danskos and Birkenstocks, and the Frye did not disappoint.

I love love these boots, just as I thought they would be, not disappointed at all, very comfortable, I don't think I've not worn them since I got them, can't wait to get them in the antiqued brown!

In love with these boots already and I have had them less than a week. I read all of the reviews on the site before ordering, and I was torn between sizes. I usually wear a size 9 in sandals and other dress shoes. I do wear a 9-1/2 in running shoes for that extra length. So i ordered both a 9 and a 9-1/2 to compare. The 9's were a little snug from the get go. They felt like they might have broken in after wear, but I just wasn't comfortable relying on that and in a very thin sock. I stuck with the 9-1/2's and couldn't be happier. I can wear normal socks and a little thicker socks if I want to and these are still super comfy! I would suggest that if you are a little weird about shoe sizes like I am, to go with the larger of the two you are considering. I just hate having my toes close the edge! I love the style of these shoes too. They look great with everything. I got the stone aged cognac. Some people have complained about the zippers being tough, but I had no issues with mine.

I love this boot! I have always been really happy with the Frye products and this was no exception. I have a camel colored leather jacket and I wanted something to match it so I went with the camel soft vintage leather. The boots are perfect! The were comfortable and fit well right out of the box. I love them for wearing with skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, leggings, everything! I feel like I could walk miles in these things. Great quality of leather and just an overall pretty and versatile boot.

I love these boots. They are stylish and amazingly comfortable and go well with dresses and skirts for an urban book. Leather is soft and supple. The zippers are bit balky at first, but I spent some time zipping and unzipping them repeatedly and they work much more smoothly now. Good quality and definitely worth the investment. I got the antiqued because they were on sale, and I polished them up with leather protector and they hardly look distressed at all. Very very pleased.

Since they arrived they have been on my feet. I'm thinking of wearing them to bed. I love them. I love the style, the smell, the distressed leather, the color. They were a birthday present to myself and I'm thrilled by my taste and choice.

These boots are great and right on trend but not too trendy. I got the smooth black. I love them all but these won out. I go between sizes 8 and 8.5. I ordered both and kept the 8.5. I recommend the half size up if you are on the edge.

LOVE these boots. The leather is nice and soft;fit is good and true to size. I am not having any trouble with the zipper since day one; as other shoppers have indicated. Would recommend them.

This makes my 3rd pair of Frye boots, and not my last I am sure. I ordered a 1/2 size down as I have had to do this with other styles. These, however, ran true to size for me. I wear a 7 1/2 (38) and the 7 1/2 fit just right. I have not worn them out of the house yet, but they felt comfortable right out of the box. The zippers seem just fine- they feel durable and tough, but I had no problem closing or opening them.

This would be my 4th pair of Frye boots. Exceptional quality worth every penny. Always get better with age and a little care. Got the Phillips harness short boot in cognac. Color is a little darker than shown was afraid the camel would be too light. Probably not but the cognac is beautiful and going to keep anyway. Beautiful boot. Dressier and lighter than my eagle harness boots that have lasted a decade and still going strong. I also have mules in harness that are years old and barely look broken in. If you are on the rail about purchasing Frye, consider this. If you divide the cost by the many many years of wear you will ultimately get and the fact that they honestly get better looking and get more character as you wear them, the price is a fraction compared to Fryes impeccable quality.

Where do I start? First of all the smell of genuine leather is awesome. These boots fit perfectly even though it is still to hot to wear them I think once the time comes I will be wearing these lots. I plan on getting another pair here shortly. I have cheaper boots and I must admit these are a bit pricy, once I got them I feel they are so worth every penny. Fit is perfect and the color is rich, deep and beautiful. I did not have any trouble with the zipper even though I tried these on after working all day and my feet were a bit swollen they still fit comfortably.

I bought them in "Soft Black Vintage" leather, and they're so GREAT! I wear an 8 1/2, I purchased them in that size and they fit perfectly. I've had no problem with the zipper, wore them all day yesterday, they are like "slippers." Worth the cost!

These boots are beautiful, but my foot is a tad wide and I need orthotics for my high arch. I wear and 8, sometimes an 8.5 for the extra width. The 8.5 in these were very tight - both in width and length (wearing the half orthotic for arch support). This is a gorgeous boot, so if your feet are a true B or even narrow width, I think they will fit.

Love everything about these boots. The heel is not high and the night of the shaft is a cool height to wear with skinniest tucked or skirt with tights. Love the harness it gives the edge I want. And you can't do better than FRYE leather. Love the back zip, too and these are great for city walking. Nice soft leather lining.
