Built to last a lifetime! I ordered these in both size 9 and 9.5. Size 9 was just a little bit tight when I first put it on 4 hrs ago. After just walking around the house with them over the afternoon, they have totally transformed into a custom fit that is just perfect. Interestingly, the leather is really thick and high quality, so it is surprising tha they conform so quickly. The workmanship is excellent and they will truly last a lifetime. Don't be scared to order true to size. These are so comfortable and don't rub in any wrong places. The zippers work as smooth as silk too. I didn't have the same experience as other reviewers. I have a high maintenance foot to fit, so it was amazing to hit a home run on the first try with these. Buy them!

I haven't had a pair of Fry boots in years. I received my boots in several days after the order and they are ausome. So comfortable and looked just like the pict. They fit perfect. I ordered my usual size, I wasn't sure if I should go up 1/2 size but I am glad I didn't. Very happy with my choice.

I am super pleased with these boots. They have just the right amount of rebel-chic and the distressing gives them that broken-in look without looking like they've seen their last days. I wear them with everything, skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans--even my sweats. They were completely comfortable from the start. No breaking in needed. I ordered a size 5.5, I am a true 5.5, and I feel they were slightly big. I put an insole inside to fill some space and now they're perfect.

My 17 year old daughter absolutely loves these boots. She got the "cognac stone antiqued" finish and is thrilled with the way it looks -- perfect amount of distressing. They are her "go to" boot to wear with her jeans and she says she gets tons of compliments on them. We had one problem with the initial pair sent -- the inside cover of the zipper on one of the boots was defective and so the zipper was cutting into the back of her ankle. I saw immediately what the problem was and Zappos sent her a new pair, which were just fine. As to sizing, she is a 10 with a narrow foot and says the 10 fits her very comfortably. My assessment is that these boots are expensive but worth the investment given the quality of the boot and the terrific styling.

I've had these boots for about 3 years. I've liked them since they first arrived, but wanted to make sure they didn't absorb water stains. So, I polished them with regular, brown shoe polish which changed the leather from a weathered look to a shiny, sophisticated look. Then I sprayed them with water protection and they have never had a single water stain, even in rainy or snowy weather. I've had them polished twice at airports by the "pros" and now they look even better! They're super comfortable, very warm, easy to zip on and off, and look great with jeans and casual pants. And at 5' 8", I love that they make me another inch taller. Worth every penny I paid for them.

Beautiful color-true to picture. Well made. The portion which surrounds your foot is a bit stiff. The plus side is that it will keep its form beautifully. The downside is that you do have to break it in a bit. I am giving it a 4 star in comfort, because I am assuming that they will break in nicely. Very fashionable and love the boot.

I have narrow feet with super narrow heels and I am used to things being too wide in the heel but this was way too wide even with thick socks. I loved the boots so much though so I ordered a 9½ in both the antiqued black and antiqued dark brown. Much better now. I am keeping them both. I love them! The zipper really sticks so I got pliers and they helped. The zipper is getting loser now. These are beautiful well made boots.

Comfortable leather boots that are really made well. I wear them everyday and they hold up through the rain and snow.

Lovely soft leather and beautifully made. The boot is really flat, no height with sole and heel. Unfortunately the 6.5 was too small and it was very difficult to do up the zip. I usually wear 6 to 6.5 so that was surprising.

I bought the Grey Vintage leather boots. They arrived within 24 hrs. Thanks Zappos! The boots are very comfortable, but they are not grey, more like a fawn brown color, which was a little disappointing, but I figure it was a neutral color and will go with just about everything, so I'll be keeping these. I wish Frye would get there colors straight. This was the second pair I ordered in "Grey" and it wasn't.

I purchased these boots in the Dark Brown Soft Vintage Leather and they are wonderful. I have bunions and my toes are extremely long and there is plenty of room for me to move my toes around. I normally wear a size 10.5/11, but I ordered a size 10 in these and they fit perfectly. It took a few weeks to break them in. I used leather protector spray from the drug store and it has kept them stain free in the snow.

I've had these for a few weeks and they have quickly become my favorite shoe for fall. They were instantly comfortable and by the 3rd wearing they felt like I've had them for years. The leather is so soft and high quality!

I have been buying Frye's for years. The quality and workmanship of Frye's cannot be matched. As other reviewers said, the zipper was a little tough to work at first, but is becoming easier. These boots are beautiful!

Great boots but not good for narrow heels, my left boot slipped too much. I will have to get a lace-up style. Excellent craftsmanship otherwise.

So...I have to say I love these boots. When they first arrived, the zipper was a problem...but I did my online research and fixed the zipper issue with...Vaseline! Wore them around my apartment for a Saturday morning of housework and they were totally broken in and fit my feet like a happy glove...feminine but tough. They are super cute with tights & skirts, leggings and jeans. So don't let the zipper horror stories scare you off...be bold! Take control and go for these excellent boots.

Love these boots. I'm a 8.5 and these fit true for me - the right one is a little tighter in the footbed because I have the start of a hammer toe but I was actually surprised at how it didn't take long for them to start to break in and feel comfortable - I expected to suffer some and didn't! If I had one sizing suggestion, it would be to make them just a tad bit wider to allow for thicker socks if you wanted. Love the height, style goes with dressing up or down, expect to enjoy for many, many years. Love Zappos too - never disappointed with the product and service.

I love these boots. They are so comfortable and have a very low heel height which I like. Very soft leather. I wear them daily. They do run a little narrow but my feet are wide.

These are awesome and feminine! They are comfortable and very true to size. So I read the reviews and yes the zipper was initially a big problem but due to the cuteness factor I had to make these boots work. I did very basic online research on sticky zippers. I tried the basic zipper fix it and it worked. I wore the boots around my little apartment as I did housework on a Saturday morning and I broke them in, they fit like a soft leather glove and I am in love with these boots. They are great with jeans, great with leggings, great with skirts. And now the zipper is smooth and easy. So do not let the bad zipper reviews put you off. Use your fingers, use your mind and go for these adorable Frye Phillip Harness boots!

Beautiful boot, but zipper was very tight, and I was worried about it's ability to stand up. Also sole and heel didn't really line up well, so I felt like I was walking downhill. Strange sensation

Oh wow, I love these boots! I always read the reviews here, so I was aware of potential problems with zippers and sizing up. I wear a 7-7.5 in sandals and flats, but usually size up for boots so I can wear thick socks. I got this boot in an 8, dark brown antiqued, with some trepidation. It was initially a little snug in the forefoot, the widest part of my foot. I wore them all evening with a thick pair of socks, and by the second hour I felt like they fit perfectly. Then I went dancing, and couldn't've been happier with these! They are so comfortable, and they look amazing with boot-legged pants, skinny pants and leggings, long skirts and short skirts - yes, I have been checking them out with a variety of outfits since getting home. I can't wait to wear them tomorrow with a dress for work... No problems with my zippers. The distressing is cool without being overdone. I love a leather sole, especially for dancing (swivel!). Likewise, the low heel (one of lowest in Frye boots) is just what I wanted. Beautiful, beautiful boot!

My first pair of Fryes. Will not be my last. I love these boots. Red is my favorite color so this was a no brainer. Such a nice alternative to my usual black. Love the zipper in back. I bought these to wear with long skirts and dresses with leggings and also with pants and jeans. I wore them with my usual light trouser socks and they were perfect. Comfortable out of the box. I did get a blister on first wearing but I think that is a me (anatomic) issue not a shoe issue.

I ordered these boots as a Mother's Day gift for myself. I ordered size 9.5. They are perfect fit, however, I would like to wear socks in the winter. So I called in and asked for help. The customer service staff was so helpful, she said as long as I returned the not suitable pair back in two weeks, she would sent me a pair of size 10 to compare with. I really appreciate this quality service. Zappos become my only way to buy good shoes.

Well, this is my first review ever! I now love these boots and receive many compliments on them. They are so adorable with jean and leggings. I had to get them in my regular size. They seemed stiff and tight initially, but after wearing them a few times for a few hours around the house they were comfortable. Now they are super comfy and I have a pretty big knob on the side of my foot below a toe I had broken. It just took time to break in the boot. The zipper goes up easier now. I would recommend these boots even though they are the most expensive I have ever bought. I think they will last for years. My husband wore his for years and is disappointed his foot size has gone to a 14. He cannot find a Frye boot in his size! Thanks Zappos for your great customer service!
