I was looking for a long time for the perfect shoe to walk to school in and this is it! I wore them all day the first day I got them and now I've had them a few weeks and they already have stretched out to fit my feet. They were worth every cent. I gave 4 stars for comfort because I have really high arches and while the sole does have a bump for arch support I need a little more than normal so I think I might have to buy some inserts. But regardless I wear them every day and love them to death.

Loved the shoes since my 1st pair. Zappos was easy shopping and fast delivery, I will order from them again. And the shoes are wonderful perfect fit, yet stylish.

Besides being cute, they are super comfortable. My foot is a little narrow, so the fact that these run a little narrow, was perfect for me.

Super comfortable, even at first wearing (I walk to work). Good toe room (I have relatively wide feet). I've only worn them a few times but have already received compliments. They come with the velvet laces but also a pair of regular waxed-cord brown laces. I swapped those in. The only thing I just noticed is that the velvet on the laces is a little worn in a couple of places. I look forward to getting a lot of mileage out of these shoes!

They're a little unique, and I got mixed reviews, but I loved them. They're comfortable, different, and it forced me to step out of the box with fashion wise.

This is a great shoe! I put them on right out of the box and they're incredibly comfortable. I love the style -- menswear with a feminine twist, thanks to the velvet shoelaces and tapered toe. I'm a huge Born fan, and this shoe doesn't disappoint. I know I'll wear them incessantly -- with jeans, cords, skirts.

I love these shoes! I love being in style but will no longer sacrifice comfort for looks and with these shoes, I don't have to. The leather is soft, the soles have some traction. Although this is a casual shoe, I still feel "dressed" when I wear them. My daughter saw them and ordered a pair for herself; she loves them too.

These shoes fit from the moment I put them on. The shoe is solid, but the leather is soft and malleable so they don't feel clumsy. I have a wide front foot and was pleasantly surprised that they fit so well. I have now bought them in another color. Can't let them get away.

The Arletta fit perfectly, and were very comfortable right away. The leather is very soft, so no pinching or rubbing. They are very cute with skinny jeans.

Super cute Oxford that's also very comfortable. Soles are rubber, so they have good support. Also love the velvet laces!

I love these shoes! I have been wearing my original pair for nearly a year, and I got tons of compliments originally. Because I wear them so often, the leather has worn a lot especially on the toe, and the cushioned bottom is no longer cushioning, so they are not as comfortable as they one were. I have purchased three more pairs but I am still "saving" them as my original pair is still doing the job. I recommend treating these shoes with mink oil before wearing them for the first time as it will prevent water damage. I just got some and wish I had done so earlier. These shoes are so great because they are nice enough to wear to work, but also comfortable to walk in for pretty long distances. The style is absolutely fantastic and they have a great classic look to them. I hope Born never stops making them!

One of the best shoe purchases I've ever made. Can walk around in these all day and not feel as much discomfort in my lower back as usual.

My feet are so used to open shoes like Birkenstock sandals that I have been having trouble finding closed shoes that are comfortable. Wow, these are great! They were comfortable right out of the box. I plan on buying another color as well. Highly recommended!

This shoe is so cute! I got the charcoal and it is beautiful color and looks sharp with the velvet ties. I have flat feet so the arch support is a welcome surprise. The leather is soft and the entire shoe looks quite expensive. I found the length and width true to my size 10.

I have never been so pleasantly surprised by a shoe before. I bought the shoes in brown first with the velvet laces. They were so comfortable, I had to try another pair. I'm ashamed to say that I bought the least expensive color when they were on sale. The sale shoe was gold, but I needed some neutral color and the kicker on the FSU team wears gold shoes, so I went for them. Much to my surprise these shoes are the best pair of walking, exercising shoes I have ever worn. No socks needed. Will be comfy whether I'm going for speed, distance, on a flat surface or some very hilly terrain. Please, if Born brings back the gold, buy them. You will not regret it. If you do, I wear a 7.5 and I'd love another pair. I do love the brown, but the gold is much softer and more supple. Come on, you know you want them!

I really like my Arletta style shoes. I've been looking for oxford-type shoes for cooler weather. I wanted them to go with both dress pants, jeans, and dresses. I think these fit the bill and I'm keeping them. Comfortable and stylish sounds good to me!

Cute shoe to wear with jeans or cords. I have a wide foot and usually wear an 8.5 to compensate, but the 8 fit perfectly. The color is a little more gold than it appears in the photo, but still provides a geat neutral look and little bling!

These are my go-to versatile shoe for work. They're adorable with dresses as well as pants. I love the menswear-inspired look, but with feminine proportions. I wear them with the waxed laces, as the velvet ones were frayed upon arrival. Zappos offered to exchange them, but since I preferred the wax anyways, I declined. They came through with a little gift certificate anyways, which was pretty awesome. One of the many reasons I love Zappos. True to size (maybe a bit narrow, but perfect for my narrow feet), super comfortable, and the grey is a fabulous color. Shoe perfection.

I'd been looking for a good oxford for months and nothing came close to this one! If you're in-between sizes often, I would choose the smaller. I'm normally a 7.5 or 8. I ordered the 7.5 and have a little room to spare even. These have way more cushion than the other oxfords I've tried - so comfortable. I also love the flexible (quiet) rubber sole as opposed to the thin, hard sole of many I'd previously looked at. Great leather and the walnut color is beautiful!

Love this shoe. I wear orthotics, and was able to pull the existing footbed out (it was not made to be removable, but was not too difficult to rip out) and my orthotics work well in the shoe. I confess that I haven't worn them too much yet - waiting for true fall weather here in the Northeast - but I wore them around the house and they are very comfortable. The top leather is soft, so it is not the kind of shoe that you have to break in, or the kind of shoe that would give you blisters. The rubber sole is flexible. I work in an elementary school, on my feet all day, so comfortable shoes are a requirement. I can tell these will be great - glad I bought them. They should be great with knit stockings and short skirt, or with pants.

Wonderful shoes. I've never worn shoes that have no break in pain at all. So comfortable and so stylish as well.

Like many of the other reviewers, I have been looking for an oxford-type shoe that would be comfortable for work (teaching, so always on my feet) but not too man-ish. I'm so happy I found these! Unlike a lot of the alternatives, they have a rubber sole with good traction and pretty decent support inside. I got the 'walnut leather' and they look like high quality, well-made shoes. MY only caveat: I have wider feet and I would definitely say that these shoes run a little narrower than even some other 'medium' width shoes I have. I ordered both a 9 and an 8.5 to check and the 8.5 (my normal size) was definitely too small in length and width. But the 9 fit ok on the first try and they have stretched well to fit my feet, plus light socks, since then. This is my only pair of Born shoes, so I'm not sure how normal that is for their brand. Overall - definite 5 stars. I love them!

I love these shoes! I put them on the minute they arrived and wore them around the house all evening. They were comfortable and cute. I can't wait to wear them to work!

I have a dozen or more Born shoes; it's all I wear because I have a very narrow foot and I also need extra insole support for arthritis. Since I know Born runs a half size small and is narrow, I order accordingly, but if you've never bought a Born shoe before, you should order a half size larger if you plan to go barefoot or wear stockings and a full size if you want to wear socks. If you are a wide medium, you might need a full size more than usual, but I know from considerable experience that the brand runs a half size small...always. I was a 7N when I wore dress shoes with stockings. I am consistently a 7.5 in Born and for an inexplicable reason, I had to get an 8 for open toe shoes (sandals). As for this particular shoe, my husband talked me into buying the metallic leather. I was very hesitant about this; much flashier than my norm, and I think he's trying to "brighten" me up. I have another pair of tie Borns that are not as dressy as this shoe and I ended up with an 8 in it, the only 8 I have besides sandals, but I wanted to wear socks in it. I bought a 7.5 and an 8 in this shoe since I wasn't sure sock or not, and am keeping the 7.5. My husband the stylist convinced me to wear it with "sparkly" knee hi stockings to dress up my winter pants with some pizazz. The shoe is solid in structure; not soft and buttery. It has a thin rubber sole that is flexible and comfortable. As with all my Born purchases, I am very pleased. And, I'm glad I got the metallic leather. It expanded my shoe wardrobe in a direction it needed to go. It's really quite attractive. Quality isn't an issue with Born. I've never been disappointed. The issue is whether to go up a half size or a full size. If you're sure you will wear socks, I think you'll need a full size more than in other brands. Otherwise, a half size is a good match. But, it is a very narrow shoe and whether or not you plan to wear socks or go barefoot is important in deciding what size to order.
