I’m a traveling art teacher, and am on my feet all day. I was recently diagnosed with metetarsalgia (achiness/pain below toe joints on ball of foot) on the bottom of my right foot. Was googling it and came upon a list of the 10 best shoes to wear. These shoes were on the list, and are fantastic. They felt a little off when I first tried them on- I thought they were large, but it’s the cut - wierdly roomy and snug at the same time. Very supportive in all the right places, and they take the weight completely off the ball of the foot. I got a black print, not the ones pictured above. My feet and posture felt great all day!

The Alegria Debra Professional has a loose fit but not a half size difference where I would size up or down. I buy most shoes in size 8 and wide width. I bought these in regular width size 38 (8-8.5) and they fit loosely, not hugging my heel. I can comfortably wear thin or mid weight socks and still have some wiggle room. I had to get used to the weight of this brand as I have mostly worn Crocs. The Alegria seemed so clunky I almost decided to abandon wearing them, but within a week of wearing them morning til night my feet begged me to keep them. Oh, I'm a nurse and a retired school teacher, so my feet have taken a lot of abuse. I can walk all day in them if I need to or I can stand for hours. I also ordered a pair of Paloma size 38 in wide width and returned them because they were too loose. My next pair is going to be a pair of Paloma 38 regular. I liked the way the strap of the Paloma minimized the slippage of my foot. I will probably buy another Debra or other Alegria in the future. Oh, the cork insole does squeak, you can remove it and bend it back and forth and that helps. Putting baby powder under the insole helps, too. My photo is of summer wear with thin support stockings. I gave the Overall 4 stars because of the squeak which really doesn't bother me but might bother someone else. 5 stars for Style because they are complimented at any medical facility I visit either as a patient, visitor, or worker. I wear them with skinny jeans, tunics and leggings, and even shorts (at home). Comfort is 5 because my feet and legs approve!

First off LOVE Zappos - have for years. Secondly, really like Alegrias EXCEPT for the squeak. On floors without carpet are the worst. You wont notice this at first but once you warm them up they are the squeakiest. Good thing I don't need to sneak up on anyone. That said, I know there is a fix, like baby powder under the insoles but wish they didn't have to be so noisey. For this purchase I had to get regular width as wide wasn't available. What I learned from an Alegria rep is that "wide" width doesn't apply to across the foot. Regular and wide Alegria shoes are identical. The difference is in the "depth", i.e., the wide inserts are deeper than the regulars so they are higher. Does that make sense? Anyway, came back to order a pair of the wide inserts. Might help with the squeak as well.

Toe box was wide enough; but depth was too shallow . Also length was too short and heels slipped. Leather was stiff and rubbed up against the side of my foot. Arch support seemed above my natural arch, making the shoe feel a bit uncomfortable. i liked the style and was disappointed in the fit.

I typically wear a 13M but I’ve learned that clogs run small. Also I have very long toes. I ordered a 14 in these and they were just right. They’re very comfortable, supportive and well made and I think worth what they charge for them.

The Alegria Debra is a lovely shoe, and I really wanted it to work, as Alegria original footbeds fit my feet perfectly. This one cut off on a slope at the toe,on a fairly sharp angle and I had a toe that hit right on the end of the shoe. Sadly, I had to return them. The rest fit perfectly, and is the size I normally order. I know the next size up is too big. Shoe is made well, as are all Alegria shoes, and would have offered great comfort

I love the Alegria sandals I have, mainly because the arch support is excellent, so I decided to try their clogs. I have a very average width foot, but these were so wide (in the medium width) that they looked like flippers. They were also so loose (in the same size I normally wear in this brand), even with medium weight socks on, that they kept slipping off my heels as I walked. They did have good arch support as I expected, but I was so disappointed with the fit and look of them. Sent them back.

I love everything about this shoe. I love that there was NO breaking-in period. I love that it is the cutest, most colorful shoe I own. I love that I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear them. (One girl even wanted to stick her foot in my shoe and I told her, "Heck no! Get on zappos.com and buy your own shoes!") I love that the sizing is true, that the shoe does not gap because the width is 'off.' I love that I wore these shoes to do my 30-minute cardio walk and my feet did not hurt in the slightest. Highly recommend! Love Alegria! Love Zappos!

I am a CNA on a busy unit on my feet for 12 hrs/day. These feel like slippers compared to Danskos! I am a true 7 1/2 so I opted for the 8. I am giving it only 4 stars because my heel does slip out of the back a little more than it should. However I am okay with it so my toes are not jammed in and have room to breathe. After about 2 months of wear, the pattern is also starting to wear off.

I am keeping this pair. I like the bit of understated sparkle in the design. Not too much for me but a different design than every other black shoe. The footpad seems comfortable and I don’t think I am going to put my orthotic in place if it. Well made! This shoe seems not as clunky as others that I have tried of this brand....Maybe because it is a closed shoe and not a sandal.

Well bummer! The 40's are too big (like my feet were swimmimg in them big) and the 39's are too short. I ordered the regular width in both. The length on the 40's was fine but the shoe overall was just too big. The width on the 39's was much better but my toes were scrunched. It's too bad there isn't a 39 1/2! I walk ALOT in my job....easily 10,000 steps on a shift. The arch support was excellent as I have high arches. I had bunion surgery on my left foot 6 months ago and have tried the Paloma and Dayna (at a local store) and unfortunately it cut right across the incision area. The 40's in that style were perfect. I liked the look of the Debra and felt they were attractive with pants. I was afraid in my size they would look like duck shoes but they didn't at all! I've contemplated the Keli but the reviews for the support aren't great. Zappos will always be my online shoe store of choice though! Their customer service is outstanding!!!!! There is no other place worth shopping!!

Love 'em. They were a bit snug but I know from my previous pair that they 'grow' with wear so I kept on wearing them, 2 weeks in and couldn't be happier. My feet don't hurt. I am happy. My feet don't hurt!

I really wanted to love these shoes. I got a 10.5 (I normally wear a 10) hoping that would be comfortable. No dice. The top is tight across the foot. I'm so sad.

These are my 2nd pair by Algeria, the first were backless, so more forgiving, but these are just so close to being too small I trimmed my toenails and will wait as I know they will stretch slightly and the next size up would probably be too big. When I order another pair with full foot coverage I will most likely go larger. But otherwise, I adore them!

I was hoping these would fit my wide feet, but just felt a little too tight around the wide part of my foot (side and even top of foot). I tried a size up and ordered a wide, but still was uncomfortable. The shoes as well look really wide, almost too wide. Even though they were clown shoe looking, if they fit well I would have kept and wore them. Oh well.

Too wide, slipped in the heal. I have always worn this size and style.

Have I mentioned how much I love these shoes? Great for plantar fasciitis and/or orthopedic insoles.

Love these shoes, they support without being confining, and don’t slip off my heel even with my little orthopedic lift (1/4”) under the insole on one side. ??????

I really wanted to keep these Alegrias but my heel kept slipping out - even with socks. The shoe size felt fine inside - maybe if the heel area was more narrow it would stay on better. Thanks Zappos for the great return policy.
