I was looking for a winter version of my Alegria Pesca shoes, which I purchased last summer. Reviews cautioned to purchase a size larger, so although I usually wear a 9 to 9.5 wide (W, WW, D, E, EE sometimes) I purchased the 40wide. Since I wore the Pesca shoes sans socks, they worked just fine and the comfort, Oh my! I could walk hours on cement without wrangling my ankles, knees, and hips. So when I bought the Debra Professional, I again went with the 40wide, forgetting to allow for socks. I can wear these only with thin trouser socks. They just don't feel "wide" and the vertical dimension of the toe box feels narrow. The sole/arch comfort matches the Pesca, so I'm happy there. It's a nice minimal-style shoe. Perhaps as I wear them more, they'll loosen up a little as I think the Pesca did.

I was disappointed that the embossed leather was not the same quality as I found in our local department store.

I have several styles of Alegria shoes and keep getting more because they are so comfortable for by problem feet. These are more snug across the front of the foot than the Alegria Classic but loose in the heel like a Dansko Pro. I like the loafer look of these.

First shoes to fit my feet in a long time. I too have feet like a duck - narrow heel and wide ball. I also have a high arch. I followed the size chart and it was correct, my 7.5 foot fit the EU37 wide size fit great. They have loosened up in the week I've had them but still feel great.

Loved the look of the shoe, but it was too tight

After a few years of trying the Nike sneakers, I finally decided to take the splurge and buy these shoes. Boy am I glad I did! These are comfortable, a little top at the top because of the leather, but you can break these easily than Danskos and with the black leather, they are easier to polish. Plus the insoles are replaceable, win win all around!

I have these in sugar skull & LOVE the design!! These shoes do stretch out a bit, but with thicker socks, will be fine! Have excellent arch support & are great for work! I only wear Alegria, Dankso, & Sanita for work & they all have excellent support for long days! Love the colors & styles offered by this brand & will continue purchasing. Zappos is the BEST online retailer with awesome customer service!

I love, love, love these shoes! I have these in gray and red. have ordered black. want a navy if they ever come out with that color. I have no cartilage between the bone in my ankles. walking is extremely painful for me. I can walk in these shoes with NO pain. From the first minute I put them on the comfort was amazing! I think I will buy these shoes in almost every color. I cannot stress enough how comfortable these shoes are! I wear an 8.5 and the 39 fits perfect. be aware that when you first put them on they fell tight but after wearing them for a few minutes the heat from your feet warm the shoe up and they adjust to your feet. Amazing!

I love the comfort and style of this shoe. This pattern didn't work for me. It is truly easy walking. My preference was the shiny black but it is not available in my size.

Thought i was going to love this shoe, but alas,I ordered it in the 38 and it was way too small, my toes were rubbing at the tip. Ordered the 39 and my foot is floating in it. the footbed is unbelievably comfortable and has great support, but the sizing is problematic. Had to return both.

I was unable to wear these. Unfortunately I have a wide foot and thick foot. Couldn't get them on.

I wanted to love these but they fit me strangely and uncomfortably. Sending back.

This is my second pair of Algeria and I like these even better than the first pair. This time I ordered a size down and the fit is perfect.The color and pattern are still neutral enough to go with lots of things. Cute!!

I have a high arch and could not finish a shift in these shoes. Even with the elastic, it cut off the circulation in my feet. I actually brought another pair of shoes to work so I could try to break them in and switch. No go.

This is a beautiful shoe but unfortunately with my difficult feet they hurt I could hardly walk in them. Maybe with good feet they would work for you.

I have arthritis in my toes and I wanted a supportive, comfortable shoe that I could walk in without pain, and these are perfect. The only reason I gave them four stars for comfort is because they were a little tight on top, but they may stretch out with wear. Plus, they have sugar skulls on them, and skulls go with everything!

Love Alegria - had to get black shoes for work. Wasn't sure I'd like plain black (the colors and patterns are the coolest)but surprisingly these are gorgeous and look just great). Lots of leather inside and out so lifting the hood on the shoebox was euphoric. After years of working behind a desk, I'll now be standing/moving 9 hours a day. I bet I won't even notice since Alegria's are the most comfortable and supportive shoe I've ever owned. Great workmanship, I'll wear out before my shoes do. I wear an 8 in every shoe brand, this as well. The regular width gives me room to spread my toes but doesn't look clunky. I'll share a tip for sizing that I learned on the web. If "regular" is too tight on top of your foot, purchase the "wide". The wide width shoe is not actually wider - the insole is a bit thinner. Doesn't affect support or comfort. Zappos gets a 5 stars rating as always. They do not disappoint. When you need/want shoes now without going to the mall, Zappos rocks. Customer Service is amazing too.

I have a pair of Alegria Palomas size 37 and they fit perfectly. These are the same size and feel very snug I need comfortable shoes for work so will have to send them back.

I love these shoes! I've been wearing them 4 days straight since they arrived. They are made very well and will be great for my 12 hour shifts as an ICU registered nurse.

Great arch support. Super comfy. Nice pattern and slightly hip profile makes them stylin' in a casual way. Seem to run a tad small; I usually wear 39 and got 38. Good for walking and weekends.

These are comfortable shoes for my arthritic feet. However, they squeak. It's very annoying and embarrassing when people start to look at what's squeaking. I have several pairs of Alegrias and about half of them squeak. A shoe this expensive shouldn't squeak. Although it doesn't bother me too much, the back does slip off of my heel at times.
