I bought these shoes and was originally delighted, but soon after I found that I really couldn't wear them. It was way too late to return them. Why? They are terribly SQUEAKY!!!!!! So squeaky that I can't wear them to the office. I tried everything, but cannot get them to quiet down.

I was really excited about finding a comfortable pair that can support my feet for long hours standing at work! Unfortunately I am not taking them with me to work because once I tried them at home I felt there is something off about them! First of all, the arch support is great but the problem is the way that the shoes hold my feet. I got 8½/black patent wide and although the width was good, my feet were slipping out of the shoe box and were rubbing against the stiff leather (more of plastic quality) of the shoes! Yes, the arch support is great but what is the use of it when you make it from a cheap and very stiff material! My search for a comfortable shoes has begun.

Apparently Alegria has changed their shoe sizes. I have several pairs of Alegria size 38. So when these arrived I wore them the next day. Ouch. My foot kept slipping toward and rubbing the front of the shoe. I know from past experience that a 39 is way too big (unwearable after a few months as the leather stretches). Sigh. Donating these and moving on. Really wish I hadn't worn them outside.

I'm giving these a solid 2 stars all around. While yes, they're crazy comfortable for folks that have to stand on their feet all day, they're not a good wear-around-the-office shoe. Why? They're heavy. I'm talking really heavy. If I cross my legs during a meeting, my leg starts to go numb. And let's face it, these are goofy looking shoes. Especially in the shiny black patent leather. My co-workers call these my "clown shoes" when I wear them. And I'll agree with them, they do look a little goofy. I've only worn these with pants and wouldn't dare try them with a skirt or dress due to the clunkiness and how they make my feet look giant (I can hide some of the giantness under the cuff of my pants). I'll say that if you've ever had foot problems, these would feel like a dream with their cushy insoles. But for normal feet folks, these are a bit excessive and unnecessarily heavy/large. Just my $0.02.

The shoe appears wide and comfortable; however, after wearing it for few hours it caused severe pain around the toes. The insoles provide sufficient support, but they turned my socks yellow. Will not recommend for long standing or walking. Shoe very narrow inside, but wide externally.

I really want to give these shoes five stars because they are so comfortable and cute. However, on Monday just seven months after I bought these, the sole on one shoe fully cracked in half! That makes me not want to buy this brand again if this is the quality. I am even sadder that there is absolutely no warranty on these and now I am stuck having to buy more expensive work shoes less than a year later.

I bought the Charcoal Patent Paloma with the Skull and Crossbones detail, thinking that they would be quirky, Lydia Deetz gothic fun. Wow. These are hands down a pair of the ugliest (my husband had harsher words) shoes I have ever seen. They're Frankenstein meets nurse meets duck feet--even more awkward and orthopedic looking than my Doc Martens Mary Janes.They are comfortable, maybe a bit too padded for my liking, kind of like being in a padded cell. I guess this is what they call function over fashion, the shoes definitely look better in the pics than real life. I wish I could say that I was drunk when I ordered them, but I was completely sober. I'm keeping them because I've already worn them around the house and they will probably be good for walking to the grocery store. Not sure I necessarily want to be seen wearing them though. Maybe they'll grow on me, but for now they're all out fug-tastic.

Someone mentioned they looked like clown shoes...she was right. I felt like Ronald McDonald.

Not as comfortable as stated per the other reviews. They pinched at my little toes and the back of my foot. And in person/when on, they look like 'special' shoes. Too bad I've already worn them a couple of times.

Cutest shoes ever! However, the width would have worked, but the depth didn't. I have wide feet, and I require a shoe with lots of depth. Alas, this did not. For this reason, I'm giving the width a low rating. Zappos, please get some cute shoes that address this issue. Crocs work, but they are not appropriate in many situations.

Love these shoes. They are so comfortable and cute. However, after only a few wearings, the patent leather is cracking and the shoes are coming apart at the seams. Very disappointed in the quality. Is this patent leather or plastic? As always, Zappos customer service is outstanding. They are sending me another pair and I will return this pair.

The 11.5 to 12 was too small and the 13 was huge. The beginning of the toe box cut into the top of my foot like a knife on the both. The inner arch was mediocre at best. Terrible shoe the ridiculous price. Returning it forced me to buy a box or print and cut a label. A hassle for someone with so many better and important things to do. I will not be buying from Zappos again and possibly not from this brand again. What a bad experience!

I didn't felt comfortable when I tried them on! I need a return slip, I need time to look and choose another style.

This would be my third pair of Alegria shoes and I am so disappointed. To start where the strap is- the Velcro and the strap rubbed a blister on both of my feet where it overlaps. The width and size is fine, but the shoe cut me across the top. I have never had that happen and it happened on both feet. Was so looking forward to a new pair of shoes and now these are going back

these shoes are perfect BUT they are not really red. more of a rust color, not the bright res that is pictures, so returning

manufacture has wrong size on box. a 8.5 is a EU 40, not a 38

The shoe was to "clunky" looking. Made the foot look like a claw. Not happy at all with it.

I ordered a woman's 11 which is a 42 in European sizing, but I was sent a size 40.

These are some of the worst shoes I’ve owned. They squeak when you walk. The Velcro also crinkles when you move, it sounds like you’re wearing childrens shoes. Does anyone actually test these before making them and selling them?!?!

Problem with left shoe. The back has a gap and a piece of construction interior of shoe is lifted.

The shoe is very nice with jeans. It brings a fresh color to a drab winter. Today I wore them for the 2nd time and after 10 hours noticed that the color on the Right outer shoe has gone from a beautiful paisley to a big white spot about the size of a quarter. I have no idea what happened to them. It doesn't appear to be rubbed or scratched. This is my second pair of colored shoes and didn't have this issue with the other pair, now about 10 years old. I would have rated these a 5 overall until white spot appeared. Now I am very unhappy and think that this is a big problem with the shoe.

I think the cloth exterior is ugly. I thought they were patent leather.

The fit was ok, but I did not like the look of the material. The shoes looked cheap.

It is a comfortable shoe, but my main concern is the faulty VELCRO. It goes bad. For the amount I paid for these shoes, the velcro should stay intact. When I walk now, you can hear the velcro slipping and it makes a little ripping noise when you walk. Also, teh velcro looks like ridiculous fuzzballs now so I keep having to trim them.
