hi, these shoes are really cool, despite the fact that they're clunky and squarish. i should have ordered a size down, but i wont be able to return them since i live outside the U.S.and i already wore them. they feel comfortable, the footbed is really comfy and also the toebox is nice and wide.

Oh! I love the look of these shoes! They look so cute with everything and they felt like a dream when I put them on my feet, but as I wore them in the house to try them out, I noticed my heels hurt. They quit hurting when I switched shoes. ? I will probably try them a little more tomorrow, but chances are high they are headed back. I'm so sad! I have several friends who swear by how comfortable this brand of shoes is and comfort is exactly what I need.

These are extremely comfortable, but one star is deducted because the Velcro stops holding about 10 months after buying them each time. Its super annoying to have the Velcro give out while walking at work. Instead of replacing them for a 3rd time, I’m now going to buy a pair of ON cloud sneakers for work shoes. Algeria needs to do away with the Velcro and do a regular buckle.

I am an 8.5 wide, so ordered the 38W (38 was given as the equivalent to 8-8.5). With the socks on that I would use with it, it was definitely too short and the opening around the toe box was too tight on my big toe area. I was looking for the firm sole, and plan to use these for a trip to Europe, so will try the 39W and see how that goes.

I returned because the fit was too small. I also need more room in the toe area than these have.

Alegrias have lots to recommend them, but this style's front edge cut painfully into my left toe where I've got Hallux Limitus (essentially a bunion on top of the toe rather than the side). Too bad, because I loved the shimmery dark leather.

These are cute and supportive, but the leather is too stiff for my feet and hurt across the width, even though I believe they were actually "wide enough." That lack of "give" made them very uncomfortable to me. I'm sad because they are darling.

The shoe depth in the toe area is too shallow. The arch support did not fit my high arch.

I stand a lot at work and needed a comfortable work shoe. Toe box felt great, but the strap cuts into the top of my foot.

I purchased this shoe after reviews for shoes that help with plantar fasciitis. I've worn them for several days now and it seems to be helping with the pain. Sadly, I do have bunions as well and it does hurt them a bit, but hoping that in time the shoe will stretch out and it will subside. I also made the mistake of wearing them without socks and did get some blisters, so heads up - socks should be worn with these shoes.

I took a shot at these. I have an exceptionally wide foot. Most single wide shoes are not wide enough but with the roomy toe box, they worked. So if you a WW or EEE width foot, give them a chance. I know the difficulties of finding wide width shoes. :-)

Love the shoe! It has a nice wide toe box, but it's just not high enough for my toes. My big toe rubs on the top of the shoe. It has to be returned. And this is way I shop Zappos.

I love this shoe....but I have ankles that are very weak/prone to spraining, and I have high arches. Is it the shoe or my feet? I am not sure - but I rolled my ankle slightly 3 times in 2 days of wearing these - I work as a nurse. I cannot take a chance on getting injured, so brought them home and will wear them (carefully) for fun occasions. I am really sad, for otherwise they are very comfy and fun and I would have bought more of same in different colors. Now I am not so sure, I may just need to go back to comfortable but so boring Merrells again.

These Paloma shoes are fairly comfortable; however, the front edge dug into my skin until I stretched them out. The footbed is memory foam and cork. After a few weeks of use, the memory foam just went flat and I now walk only on the cork. A shoeliner-insert makes them more comfortable for walking.

This is my 1st pair of Alegria shoes and I have to say that I am very pleased with them. The footbed is amazingly comfortable with the right arch support. I am used to wearing Dansko and this is a great alternative if you don't like Danskos firmer footbed. Only drawback, like some other reviewers I also have to wear band-aids under my ankle bones. The sides do cut into my skin. I'm hoping this goes away once the leather on the side softens up over time. Would recommend them though. No break in needed on the footbed. True to size. I wear a size 37 in Euro size (7) and were perfect.

These shoes put a spring in my step! When I first put them on I worried that my foot was too wide but I adjusted the strap and they were fine. In fact I'm wearing them now!

These are cute shoes but the wide box is not as wide as expected. They are fairly comfortable but not what I expected after the rave reviews. I ordered a pair for my daughter and they fit more tightly than the original pair she had ordered - odd!

Really comfortable and stylish. I'm in the medical profession and I can stand in these all day. Only issue I had is that one of the sewed on buttons was loose so I had to reinforce the stitching (bit of a pain).

There was/is a break-in period, but I love these shoes. They're cute and I love the additional height. I would like another pattern, but may order another size up.

Really like the style of these shoes. Overall, I would say they are comfortable but they have taken awhile to break in. The sides still run my feet at the end of the day, and it's been a month since I starting wearing them. I frequently get positive comments on their appearance.

Review: I'm highly critical of any purchase, and give credit where it's due. Occupation: Nurse Size: I'm an 8 in everything, and this is true to size. My feet aren't too narrow and aren't too wide. Comfort: Tennis shoes don't cut it on my 12 hour days. Even though I'm small and petite, my feet are super sensitive and do not tolerate many shoes well (hence a poor shoe wardrobe), so no shoe is perfect, but the Alegria Paloma does a very nice job. I never wear the same shoe 2 days in a row for my long 12 hour days. I rotate my Z-coil shoes (which are great as well) with the Alegria Paloma. My Z-coils can hurt my heels, but the Paloma can be irritating to my knees (which is why I rotate my shoes). However, I'm finding that the knee pain is less and less as I've broken them in. My heels and feet feel pretty good in these shoes, however. For others less sensitive, this shoe is great, but I will still need to rotate my shoes for comfort. Right now, I'm happy with my purchase! Look: I love the patent leather look and it looks great with my scrubs. I wear just about anything for comfort, and don't usually care about others' thoughts, but I have received lots of compliments. Despite other reviews on unattractiveness, I think the plain and shiny patent leather styles are nice looking and I plan on purchasing another black pair and a brown pair for my day-to-day shoes for fall and winter. -Happy Alegria Customer

With plantar fasciitis, it's impossible for me to find comfortable shoes. These cute shoes are comfortable as long as I don't have a flare-up. They look better with skirts than my other-only shoes I can wear, Sketchers. They did take a bit longer to break in than I wanted, but by wearing them around the house first, they worked well on concrete. I'm off to London with my granddaugher in July, so I'll give them a real test!

Wow! Love the feel of this shoe on my very painful feet. I have a wide foot and this is still comfortable. The area around the heel does come up high, right under my ankle and I'm not sure if that will be a problem with prolonged wear yet. Also, the pattern I ordered (Black Rose) does not look the same as the photo on the web page. In the photo it looks like green leaves...but what you see is shiny black patent and shiny gold leaves, vines and almost no roses. I'm still debating whether or not to keep them as my daughter says they are the ugliest shoes she's ever seen because of the gold pattern. But I kind of like it. Just be aware that it looks different in person.

The shoe appeared wide but when I tried it on it felt a little narrow. I also didn't understand what all the hype was about in regards to comfort. The fact that the insert is made of cork and memory foam really sold me. However, when I tried the shoes on and walked around a bit they didn't feel any more comfortable than my cheap ole tennis shoes. In my humble opinion, not worth the the price. I'm returning them to try the Alegria Seville's. Thank goodness for free shipping!
