I can tell I am going to love this boot. I bought it for messy winter and fall weather, since it is waterproof. The boots have nice style, though, but that is just not. They are very comfortable, with a cushy and supportive sole. The calf is wide for me, but I often have that issue. They run true to size.

Nice cross between a casual and bad weather boot. A nice option to walk to work in comfort in the winter because they would be passable with work clothes (compared to sneakers or traditional winter boots). Unfortunately the calf of the boot seemed very plus sized and was far to large. I am a runner and have decent sized calves, but the tops were way too big! It would be nice if Merrell offered this with a narrower top.

I bought some Merrell plaza boots and wore them daily, 6 months out of the year for 4 years. (I had them resoled several times, but it was because they were wearing out.) I just bought these, not because I loved them (the style wasn't exactly me) but because I wanted to have boots that would be that durable for that long. 2 months after I bought them, they are completely falling apart. They are absolutely not worth their price, or even half of it. I am completely disappointed.

I bought these for a friend up north who had no boots. She was ecstatic and absolutely loved everything about them. I knew her Merrell size, and since they are so consistent, I was pretty sure they'd fit. I was so happy to know she'd have warm, dry feet all winter!

Finally! A boot that fits a woman with muscular calves. This is the perfect boot for anyone with muscular calves and normal width ankles. The waterproofing, comfortableness of a hiking boot, combined with style, make this an excellent purchase!

The boots are very nice and comfortable. They made my feet look narrower and smaller than they really are. The boots are bigger than the size indicated: usually I wear size 9.5 - 10 but these boots were too big in size 9.5. My only concern is the leather covered heel of the boot - easy to scratch and cannot be repaired.

I have feet issues, so the only comfortable footwear for me is Merrell. I just got the short boot in this version and I also have the tall version. They are very comfortable and it is one of the few styles that look a bit more dainty but have all the cushiony benefits.The only issue I have is heavy calves and I wish Merrell would offer tall boots with generous gussets. I had to take mine to a shoemaker to retrofit. Also, I like that these do not have the bulky look of some of the other styles. I'd like to see more like this in suede.

These boots provide super support and comfort. Unfortunately, they are a bit too much like rain boots in appearance for my needs. I was looking for something a bit more professional and these are too casual. However, if I needed boots like this I would recommend them because they look quite nice and are so comfortable.

Sadly had to return these because the opening at the top was just too wide. Only buy if you have very large calves.

I loved the way this boot looked but it was too narrow on the back of my feet. I don't have wide feet and it fit my foot perfectly it was just tight around the back of my feet. I have big calves and was pleasantly surprised that it zipped up no problem and it wasn't tight.

I ordered these because I thought they'd be a good alternative to winter boots when it was cold, but wasn't snowing. In the winter it takes me a couple hours to take off my boots when I get to work and I hoped these boots would be a good transition before putting on my work heels. The problem is these boots are not cute. Not cute at all. I'm better off stomping around in snow boots than these. The plus is they are super, super comfortable.

I do not mean to be rude, but these are just ugly in person. :( They felt very comfy, but not sexy or pretty or even cute.

These boots are AH-MAZING! They're super cute and they look formal if you want them to but can also be worn just with jeans/leggings for a more casual look. I have big calves (16") despite being in shape and slender (pants size 6) and zip up boots never fit. I also use orthotics in my shoes and these are the only boots I could find that had a large calf circumference AND removable insoles so that I could put my orthotic underneath the insole. These don't pinch, don't rub, don't click/clack along as you walk since the bottom is rubber like a regular shoe, and they are so comfortable that I can wear them all day (as in 12 hours) and not want to take them off. My only suggestion is that if you have an orthotic, get a 1/2 size up like I did and always do. Also, I wear them with a thick sock or leggings and they fit perfectly.

These boots are the perfect combination of style, comfort, and utility! They also fit perfectly! That said, I have quite muscular calves, so I would not recommend them to people with skinny legs.

Love these boots! They look good, are comfortable and waterproof! What more could you ask for? I will wear them for years to come.

I love these boots! I ordered a 7 first, which is my usually size, but they were a little tight on my feet. A 7.5 fit beautifully, and these are my new favorite boots - I wore them straight out of the box. They also fit my "athletic calves", which is hard to find in a tall boot.

I love this boot. Comfortable, and looks great with dresses or pants. Leather feels good. Tasteful and stylish. Plan to get another pair in brown.

If another color of these boots was available I would buy that too! The test my new shoes must pass is if they are comfortable the moment I slip them on. I don't want to have to "break" them in. These boots passed the test! To make sure I put them on and wore them around the house for couple of hours for two days. I'm very particular. I wanted waterproof booths, but not one that looks like rain boots. This style is classy and has a unique heel.

I am so sad to have to return these. They look good. I don't think they look like a rainboot as some reviewers said. The leather is nice and soft. They feel great on one foot as Merrells always do, but I couldn't get it on my larger foot. The heel was too narrow and my heels and ankles are not wide. I even ordered up a half size, a full size would have been too long. I normally wear a 10 but my left foot is a little larger than the right. I was so excited to find a boot in a 10.5 as I don't think I have ever seen a 10.5 before in a boot. The shaft was fine. I have 17" calves from exercising and the shafts just fit no extra room. I love Merrells. I have had about six pairs of Merrell's over the past few years, and usually wear a 10. I would get a 10.5 usually in shoes and sandals IF they were available, which they usually are not.

I ended up keeping these, but they are not my favorite. Very waterproof and practical but also a bit stiff. I wish they had a bit more support in the arch. The zipper is hard and rubs at the ankle. Oh well, couldn't return because I had already worn them outside.

I had a hard time finding "the perfect" black boot. I'm not sure this is it, but (after trying on at least ten other pairs) it's pretty darn good.

The picture does not make it look much like rain boots, but when I saw them, they definitely looked like rain boots. I just wore them in the rain, stepped in a big puddle by accident, and my feet stayed dry. Very comfortable to walk in.

Comfortable boot but I returned them. The shoe portion of the boot made my already long foot (size 11) look even longer. Looked great on my ankles and fit over my large, muscular calves, more's the pity.

So tight! I wear a 6 1/2, so that's what I ordered. The boot was so constricting, like Spanx for your feet and legs, and not in a good way. Ouch! Just zipping up the boot hurt, and when I took it off, after just a half hour of sitting typing on my laptop, there were sharp marks pressed into my calves. I do not have skinny calves, they are on the bulky side, true, but I'm a petite person. These boots are only for women with very slim calves. If your calves are not ultra-slim, don't order these. You'll end up sending them back! The foot of the boot was also painfully, overwhelmingly tight. I fit into it length-wise just fine, but it hugged my foot in a totally constricting manner. I wanted these to fit so much because they are super duper cute and seem like if they fit size-wise, they'd be super comfy. But order up a size won't solve the calf-size issue, and I might have to go two sizes up to not feel like my feet are being strangled. And at that point, the shoe would be too long and my heels would be swimming in empty space. Sorry to sound so negative but these were a huge disappointment, size-wise. Also, the lining of the boot shaft is fabric, not leather. Shame. But if you have skinny legs and order up a size, go for it, they're beautiful.

Tried them on they felt good. Then it got warm so they stayed in the box. Got them out to try them on again and realized they look like rain boots because they were too wide in the calf. My calves are little under 15" wide. The rest of the shoe is great. Feels really good just wish the calves were smaller. Sad to send them back.
