I am 5'4" with wide feet and calves. Dansko 38 fits me perfectly. A 7.5 in this boot was so small and narrow I could hardly squeeze my foot in. The calf was actually wide enough for me, which is unusual. Beautiful boots but small and narrow foot: order a size up!

I loved the boot when I first put it on. It seemed like good quality. The only problem I had was with the sole coming off after only a few weeks of wear. I had the boots replaced, and the same thing happened again. Normally, Merrell has great boots! I'm not sure what happened with this model.

They very comfortable and fit right out of the box. In style and yet good for bad weather. I own four pairs and will keep buying Merrells.

These boots are pretty and felt great on my feet but alas, I have to return them. The boot shaft circumference is much smaller than described. Good thing we didn't have a bad winter this year.

These are the best boots I've ever owned. I am packing for a trip overseas for 3 months as they are stylish and...waterproof so this one pair can be packed instead of two. So comfortable too. They molded to my feet in one day of wear!

These have been my fav everyday boot for years. Great for people with dancer calves and do a lot of walking daily. These are practical shoes. In the beginning they were the most incredible boot, then by my 3rd pair they downgraded the sole and not only didn't it bounce as much, it degraded a lot quicker. Also another positive aspect was they were super comfy from the moment you start wearing. Sign of quality. However, I just bought my 5th pair and they must have downgraded their materials again as I walked 2 blocks out and home again and they absolutely shredded both my heels. What the hell is going on Merrell? Utterly disappointed. Why change it if not broken?

I LOVE these boots! I lived in London and did tons of walking. I used them for travel throughout Europe and could comfortably walk hours in them without my feet hurting. The calf may fit a bit snug at first but perfect for winter as the boot is insulated for warmth. It does give a bit after some use. I have had the boots for 2yrs and still going strong. Finally seeing some wear on the sole but I gather they have a few more miles before I chuck them.

I have these boots for two weeks now and they have quickly become my favorite! They are very comfortable and look good dressed up or down. They are suitable to wear to the office but are nicely worn with jeans as well. I typically wear a 6.5 wide width so I ordered the 7 medium. They fit nicely. Overall great boot.

I love these boots. They are narrow through the ankle which makes them very attractive, although it makes them a bit of a tight squeeze the first couple of times I put them on. The footbed is very comfortable for my size 9 feet. The fact that they are waterproof and beautiful and comfortable means that my long search for the "right" boot is over.

I walked all over NYC in these boots--they are very comfortable. The leg is fairly wide so you can tuck jeans in with enough room to still be comfortable. These do seem to run about 1/2 size larger than your normal size.

I put them on and wore them all day straight out of the box the first day, and for two days afterwards, through pouring rain. My feet were completely comfortable, dry, and warm the whole time. They are not a dress boot, but certainly don't look frumpy or too sporty on the street. I did not experience the issues other reviewers did with the calf width, and I have never thought of my calves as particularly large or muscular.

These boots are perfect. I wanted boots that were both cute and functional. I live in Michigan and I often walk to work (yes, even in winter) and so I wanted a boot that I could wear through unshoveled snow that would still manage to look good. These definitely fit that bill. Not only are they functional as winter boots (warm, waterproof), but they are also comfortable - as comfortable as Danskos. At the same time, they look stylish enough to pass as cute boots. I say stylish enough, because the soles actually resemble Danskos a bit. If you look at them from the right angle - definitely not a stiletto heel. But, for day to day wear, these are perfect. Finally, I have large (athletic) calves. Most boots will fit me perfectly, until they get to the muscle. These fit great. They are a little looser than I would like throughout the ankle/lower calf, but the top portion fits great. I was shocked/pleased that these actually fit.

This is very nearly the perfect boot! Waterproof, immediately comfortable and stylish. I have cranky feet with bunions and struggle to find comfortable shoes. I am athletic so also have muscular calves. Tried far more expensive boots but these were perfect right out of the box. Thanks Merrell!

I just got these boots and I love them. I thought they would be practical and not very stylish; I am happy to say that I was wrong! They look great on, are extremely comfortable, and can easily be worn with skirts or pants. I'm ready for winter!

I have been looking for a reasonably stylish pair of boots that I could wear walk in for hours on end. This is a harder thing to find than one might expect but I have been pleased with these Merrells. The boots are well made (meaning that I think they will hold up for quite a while) and comfortable too (there is a nice shape to the sole that supports the foot nicely). As for looks, they have a sleek look to them which I think helps them look more stylish.

These were a gift for my best friend in the cold North. She absolutely adores them and said they fit her like a glove, totally on-size all the way. I am so happy she loves them!

Keeper! At last a boot that fits both up and down, on both My 16 inch calves and my somewhat wide feet (c width). Although I did need to order 1/2 size up in order to compensate for the med. width. They look good - smooth, casual but not clunky. Thinking about getting another pair just in case I never find something this perfect again!

The calf is very large. Had to return. I am a runner and have muscular legs, but these were way too roomy for my calves and looked bad even with jeans. Bummer because they are cute otherwise!

It's been a long search for a walkable, waterproof boot for winter travel--but this may be the winner! I can never--and I mean never find mid-calf or knee-high boots that zip over my runner's calves... These zipped like a breeze. That said, if you have "normal" calves, these will probably be loose on you. I have to go up a half size in Merrells (and Cole Haan), but I am a solid size 10 in almost every other brand--if you are borderline, consider sizing up. These even zip over skinny jeans--I can't quite believe I am writing that! As other reviewers said, it looks a bit "plasticky" for lack of a better word, but I chalk that up to sealed seams and waterproofing. It has lovely seaming on the instep and a cute wedge heel, since even my "comfort shoes" must have a heel to them. :) I plan to wear them tromping around England and Scotland in late November--fingers crossed that these do the trick!

Great looking boot with a nice black finish. I have 15 inch calves and could zip with skinny jeans but felt tight. Foot is pretty fitted as well and didn't leave a lot of room for a thick sock. Sad to have to return but need more room in the calf.

Loved the comfort of this boot, however they were too wide at the top. I have 14" calves and these stuck out too much to wear under pants, and were a bit funny looking with skirts and dresses due to the width. They were so comfortable though. I reluctantly decided to return them but I did purchase the shorter version to wear under jeans and pants. The sole is incredibly comfortable and cushy!

So I just got these in the mail today and they are being sent right back. In a size 7, I doubt these are actually a 16.5 inch calf. The calf was too small for my calves so I caution women with smaller feet and muscular calves. Also the footbed felt about a half size too small. Sucks because these are gorgeous looking and I was really excited to get a waterproof leather boot.

I was SO excited to find these boots. I love Merrell and have the shoe version of this. The measurements must have been taken on the outside of the boot or are inaccurate. I have a 16.5 in calf and there is no way these boots are zipping up. I am so tired of trying to find a good looking, comfortable tall boot that isn't some crap brand. Seriously, some of us like to run and still want to look good our of our running shoes! More accurate calf sizing Zappos, please.

No. Just, no. This is one ugly boot. I thought it may look a little cool/space-age in person, but no. The ankle was too roomy, and the shaft was tight on my calf. The heel was too short to be anything but super casual. Sent it back the same day I received it. Thankfully Zappos is awesome.

I bought my first Merrell Angelic Peak Waterproof boots in a black a couple of years ago. I wore them everywhere...conferences, trips to Europe. They were well worn and aged very well. Unfortunately they eventually had to be tossed out a few months ago - they looked too beat up. I went to Zappos (which is awesome) and ordered another pair. The new pair's heel started peeling on day two. I could see the material under the black coating, which is lighter in color and thus very noticeable. I sent this pair back to Zappos and they replaced with another pair. Same thing happened. I loved the old model but would definitely stay away from this shoe now.
