Awesome boots. From the moment I put them on, they were comfortable, I didn't have to break them in. They look good over jeans and with some dresses. But they're pretty casual and I don't like the way they look underneath my jeans. Overall, an excellent purchase, and definitely waterproof (I tested in a puddle).

Nice boots! They are on the small side for me so I'm sending them back for 1/2 size larger. Hard to get into around the ankle, but comfortable once on. They are blacker than they look in the photo. I am 5'7 and they are a couple of inches below my kneecap, a bit wide around the calf (I have slim calves). Love the slightly rugged look. They seem pretty sturdy and I wouldn't hesitate to wear them in bad conditions. Will be cute with jeans tucked in, or skirts and dresses. Spent a lot of time looking and I am very happy with them. Zappos is great and so helpful with the return/exchange. Their phone # is everywhere. How often do you see that?

These boots are a little more utilitarian-looking and more casual in appearance than I realized, but they are fantastic and functional. Very comfortable and I get compliments on them all the time. More than one person I've encountered has said, Those boots are exactly what I've been looking for. Where did you get them? A little tight for my calves first time wearing, but they softened and conformed nicely. I will buy this boot again when mine wear out.

This boot is beautiful, amazingly comfortable and fits true to size. I have replaced all other casual shoes with this boot.

Very roomy in the foot area. I am able to get my jeans in and zip up the boot - something I can't do with many boots. Love that they are waterproof! I've gotten many compliments on them.

Love the style. Very hard to get my foot into the boot, even with a thin sock. When I finally did, the shoe part was way too big. Back they go! Gotta love Zappos!

Love, love, love these boots! I am a boot-a-holic, and did a lot of research before finally buying this pair (I'm anal like that). I wanted a pair of boots that was stylish, but comfortable to walk in all day; weather-proof, but not clunky. I definitely found all of the above in these boots! It takes a little extra oomph to get my heel past the ankle part (where the straps are, almost like the zipper should extend slightly lower to allow easier access, but not a big deal. Fit is good with regular socks, would not fit anything too bulky. They look super-cute w/ leggings, a new favorite outfit! Overall wonderful choice, maybe someday I'll get the brown ones too. :)

These were perfect! So comfortable and stylish. They were indeed waterproof. I read reviews about the calf being too wide, but I didn't agree with that. I also have skinny calves, so it wasn't a skewed view. I would definitely recommend these boots for style and comfort when walking a lot.

The perfect boots! Extremely comfortable. I am a teacher in Missouri, and I was looking for boots that are weatherproof, but also cute and comfy enough to wear to work every day. These fit the bill perfectly! Highly recommended.

I love my boots and have worn them almost every day since buying them. The medium width is wide for me (I wear N) so I got a half size longer than usual and wear warm socks with them. They are warm, totally comfortable, great in snow and don't slip. Best money I've spent on shoes!

These are great boots. So cute and very comfortable! I've worn them for the entire day while tail gating, and stayed warm and comfortable.

Nice height. Great-looking boot. Unfortunately, I have thin legs. There was a lot of room between my legs and the boots -- great for wearing with tucked-in jeans; but I plan to wear them over leggings and with a skirt. That won't work. Footbed felt good with great arch support.

I love these boots. They are my new go to shoe. Very comfortable with a sporty feel, but you also still look like a girl.

Loved the look, it was just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the fit was much too small. I double checked to make sure they had sent me the correct size (7) and it was correct. I have several Merrell shoes and size 7 fits perfectly. The ankle part was fairly tight and my toes were jammed into the end of the boot. I need a 7-1/2 or 8 in this boot. Otherwise, I love it!

These boots are not 16 in circumference despite what the description says! When I measure them out of the box with the Zappos cardboard in them, they are just over 13 inches in circumference (for a size 8.5). I'm a size 10-12 in pants and my calves are just over 13 inches in circumference but these were way too tight when I'm wearing a thick pair of jeans tucked in. Really Merrell? How could you get it off by 3 inches on your description? Disappointing. Other than that the leather looks great in quality and the actual foot area of the boot was comfortable and true to fit. It's just the ankle/calf that was off. Unfortunately I have to return it and go with a different brand.

The boots are difficult to pull on, but once on they are very, very comfortable. Might be a little wide in the calf but that doesn't bother me at all. All in all, very pleased with them.

These are very attractive boots, but in my case they looked better off than on. The shaft was way too wide for my calves (which I don't think are especially thin, just normal). Plus, I found it difficult to get the boots on on off -- especially the left one; what a struggle. Once I got them on they seemed comfortable. Disappointing.

I so wanted these to work for me because I fell in love with the look in the store. I tried them on. The shaft was too wide for my calf. I was disappointed because they were exactly what I was looking for. I ended up with the Tetra Launch (mid-calf height, so better fit), but I still wanted boots like the Strap. I ended up with the Clarks Orinocco in Stone. The boots supposedly have a larger shaft but because they can be adjusted with the buckles, they do not look goofy at all.

I walk a lot to and from work and wanted good quality shoes that look nice enough so I wouldn't have to change upon arrival. These fit the bill although I do wish they had a slightly higher heel. I ordered my normal size (8.5) and the left foot fit perfectly out of the box but the right wasn't quite "right". I never had issues with my two feet fitting differently in the same pair of shoes so I kept them and hoped for the best with wear. Initially the right seemed to be more difficult to get in, especially around the ankle. The ease of getting it on and off has improved but sometimes the ankle area is still awkward when walking. And foot width was also a bit tight but that has since loosened up and now feels normal. Style wise, I know they aren't the fanciest but they get the job done and I do receive compliments so I'm happy with them.

Like many other reviews, I agree this boot that this boot 1) looks fabulous but is 2) hard to perfectly fit. The ankle/bottom of boot is tight and once the foot is in, the foot bed is roomy. I am usually a size 7 for because my feet run a little wide, and my calves are a bit big. But this shoe felt like I had too much footbed space. I tried to go down to 6.5 but that was almost impossible to fit into: the ankle felt like a tourniquet and no jeans were going to zip in. So I stayed with the size 7, bought some inserts for the footbed, and not they are perfect!

Very hard to get foot into the boot, too tight around ankle. Maybe zipper should go lower? Very attractive waterproof boot but very large in the calf.

I'm very pleased with this boot. It's very comfortable and is waterproof! I can tuck in skinny jeans with no problem. The only flaw I can think of is minor and sometimes it feels strange around the ankle. Not totally uncomfortable, just a little odd. I look forward to spending many a day in these boots, both with pants and skirts.

I really like these. I have wide, feet and seek really comfortable shoes - these accommodate both. And, they are attractive, hit at a good spot on the calf, and are durable - I don't worry about rain or dirt.

These shoes are super cute! My arch is a little too high though, it was really hard for me to get my foot in so I had to return them.
