These are really comfortable, but the leather looks cheap, and the shaft isn't wide enough for my big calves.

Ladies with big feet but normal-sized legs, beware -- listen to the reviews! Fit snugly around my size-10 feet but were absolutely swimming around my very average-sized legs. They looked like galoshes -- which is fine, except that I can get galoshes at the local hardware store for $10.

The size 8 was extremely difficult to get on even wearing the thinnest socks; it's tight across the top of the foot. The toe has a bit of that "duckbill" look, and the leather finish is dull, which makes it overall more casual looking than dressy. I liked the buckles. I have thin calves and the shaft wasn't too big. I'm returning them, and if it wasn't for the difficulty getting them on, I would try the next half size larger.

I really wanted to love these boots. I bought a size 7, which I usually wear in the Merrell. But the footbed was too big. My foot fit into the 6.5, but my ankles were another story! I don't have big ankles or calves (I only weigh 105 lbs) but I couldn't get me and my skinny jeans into these boots. Too bad. Both are going back.

Terribly uncomfortable! I love the look of these boots, but they were not at all comfortable. The leather is very rigid and offered no flex when walking. This resulted in firm, painful pressure on the top of my foot just when standing in the boots, and even more pain when trying to walk. It was also hard to get my foot in the boots.

I love these boots. Love them! I basically wear them all the time throughout the fall and winter. Between the Chicago weather and bike commuting I'm definitely pretty tough on them but they've held up well and keep my feet nice and dry. I have wide calves and these fit perfect. I get compliments on them all the time and they seem to be the perfect balance of style and function.

Beautiful, strong, well-designed boots, but just too narrow for my chunky legs. I am heartbroken at having to return them.

I love that these are cute enough for leggings and a cute tunic or sweater top, but very practical for inclement weather. I have normal to just slightly large calves and these were really tight. A little bending and stretching helped, but if you have large calves I doubt these would ever get comfortable on you.

Hmm... I don't know why reviewers keep saying the ankle is tight. If anything, I find it too roomy and, at size 11 and 5'10 I'm no shrinking violet. I also find that shaft circumference is too wide. I'm trying a half-size down to see if that fits better because the shoes are really comfortable!

Great boots! Comfortable and warm. These are waterproof and there is a zipper on the inner leg to help with getting the boots on and off. I wear them with a medium Smart Wool sock and they fit perfect. In most shoes I wear a 7.5 but in these boots I wear an 8. Happy shopping.

Great boots, extremely comfortable, can wear all day and night. Very cute, attractive especially with skirts. At first thought they were too small, difficult to squeeze my foot all the way in. But after putting on a few times the heel area softened a bit so not an issue. I am pretty standard size 8 (sometimes 8.5) and have fuller calves, and boots fit just right.

It's a treat to have a pair of winter boots that don't make me look and feel like a babushka. I ordered these boots in black and in a half size larger, so I can wear an extra pair of socks this winter. The boots are sharp, versatile, and they're standing up to rain and the little bit of snow we've had so far. I have a high instep, so I appreciate that I don't have to struggle to get into the boots -- and the extra half size makes the job even easier. A real home run.

These were so comfortable straight out of the box. I wore them all day! I wear a size 11 and have large calves and these fit.

I love these boots! I wear the with leggings and dresses and they are super comfortable. They are a little tight with skinny jeans around the ankle to zip. I am a size 8 in Merrells all the time. Although the 8 did fit, they felt a little snug all over. I went for the 8.5. They are comfortable and I have a lot of room. The boot is a little difficult to get into if you have a high arch. Once you take them on and off a few times though, they are easier to get into. Zappos has the best service! I ordered the 8.5 in the evening and got them the next day. Amazing!

I love these boots! Very comfy for walking around the city in cold weather, but still cute! Great with skinny jeans. Merrells are the best.

This is a nice looking boot but very difficult to put on. I struggled getting the foot in the boot. My calves are skinny and these boots are way to big so unfortunately I have to return them.

Love these boots! They're fashionable and utilitarian. They're waterproof, lightweight, comfortable, and have great traction on the bottom. The only downside is that they're bigger in the calves than I wanted but I decided to keep them anyway and wear with leg warmers because I love them so much. Also, as other reviewers have said, it is a little difficult to get your foot into but a few couple seconds to put them on isn't really a big deal to me. I have moderately high arches and don't usually get enough support (my back starts to hurt) but I wore these all day and they were extremely comfortable!

These boots are very comfortable to walk all day in. They are also very cute and truly waterproof. A little bulkier in the front than I like but very doable. I have been looking for a very flat waterproof cute boot I could wear to work and this flattish boot is the closest I've found.

I bought these after trying on my sister-in-law's Tetra Launch Waterproof boots. I prefer a taller boot and they are super comfortable. I wore them all day the first day I put them on.

This boot appears to be well made and is quite comfortable all around. My only concern is long term wear. Looking at the reviews on the Merrell website, there are some folks who said that the heel has separated from the foot bed after normal use. Sadly, as with most shoes, they are made in China. If they do fall apart, I'm confident that Zappos will allow a return. My pair was not shipped in a Merrell box by Zappos. They appeared to be repackaged. As usual, Zappos service and shipping was super efficient!

I absolutely love these boots! As a matter of fact I am wearing them as I type this. :) They took 1 or 2 times to break in around the ankle and loosen up so I could easily slide my foot in and out, but knowing they are high quality leather they have loosened up nicely and are as comfortable as heck. I get myriads of compliments every time I wear these, they suit me so well! So glad to have found these, the video review was what clinched it for me. makes a big difference to see the boot on someone!

Best boots ever. Seriously, they're fashionable enough that you can easily wear them with skirts as well as boots, and are literally the most comfortable boots I've ever worn: I've walked around with them sightseeing for days. Best purchase I've made all year, no lie.

Love these boots! As others have mentioned, they are tight around the ankle, but they really do stretch out. I wore them around the house for a few days before taking them to Budapest where I knew I'd wear them for long stretches. My feet never got tired and I love having a good-looking boot but don't have to worry about rain and muck destroying them. Also, I have high arches & these have been plenty comfortable for me.
