I wanted this shoe as an alternative to tennis shoes but the comfort just isn't there. I purchased a pair in black and in the olive color (an excellent neutral color, by the way) and have worn the olive color for several weeks. The shoe lacks good arch support, more evident after the first hour of wearing, and the toe box is flat, which presses down on my toes while squeezing the ball of my foot when walking up/down hills, resulting in a numbness after a short time. I consistently wear a 9M in Merrell shoes but think perhaps a wide width might have helped. I'm returning the black pair and thank Zappos for a fantastic return policy as I've had the shoes for a few weeks. Disappointed but still looking for a great shoe alternative to tennis shoes for comfort.

They look really cool. But, a big but, the back rubs your heel and makes red marks and I actually got bruises. The back is very stiff and has hard rubber around it so no chance it was going to break in. No cushioning at all in the back. Bought at another place and thankfully they gave me my money back. I had paid full price. Still looking for a cool walking shoe.

I agree with the reviewer about the collar around the heel. When I bought these shoes, in my regular size of 7 1/2, I thought they fit well. I wore them on a trip and after a few hours, I developed a blister just below my right ankle bone. The left shoe fit better but it was still too tight. I had to return them. It's too bad because they are an attractive casual shoe and my first pair of Merrells.

Very disappointed in the quality. Sole was very thin. Insert had no support and the rubber on the sole separated from the sole within six months of occasional wear. Not what I expected from Merrell.

I purchased these shoes after 5 months they are coming apart! I can not believe that Merrell would put their name on these shoes!

I have Merrell hiking boots, and hiking shoes. I have loved Merrells and have recommended them. However, the last two pairs I have purchased, including these Mimosa Lace shoes, have been returned. The quality is shoddy, at best. The fit has changed along with the quality. I am very sorry to realize that Merrell will no longer be a brand I purchase or recommend. The Mimosa Lace shoe I pulled out of the box had two eyelets loose. That led me to examine the shoe more closely, and to realize that these shoes would not last for the 10 day trip for which they were purchased. Sorry, Merrell. I tried, but I'm giving up.

Cuter in the box than on my feet (looked more old ladyish/boring on feet). No arch support! These shoes are really flat inside and also cut into the back of my heels. Not worth the price, in any event.
