I have several D&B bags, including a vachetta satchel in ocean blue and a small 1 in chestnut. I absolutely love those bags, so much so that I wanted to "upgrade" my chestnut satchel to this larger size (Mom is willing to give the smaller 1 a new home!). But when I received it today, I was terribly disappointed that instead of the smooth, chestnut leather I was expecting, I have a dull, dark brown, pebbled leather satchel. Hm. So I went to the D&B site to confirm description/item number and while it's exactly the same as what Zappos has, the bag I received today doesn't look anything like the pictures on either site. My ocean blue satchel is smooth leather and has "broken in" so beautifully, as has my small chestnut satchel. Sadly I'm returning this bag to Zappos and will try purchasing elsewhere. But I still love Zappos.

This bag is ok but not for me. The zipper seems too short along with the short handles. I like to carry bags by the handles instead of the shoulder strap. It's good quality leather bag just not good for my needs.

This item was in used condition - NOT NEW!! You should have disclosed this information. *No tags, scuffs and dirt.

This is the first time I’m disappointed with A Dooney and Bourke purchase. Quality was so bad, just wear it once and the material start shipping off!! I don’t understand what happen?? I need to return it!!! I’m very very disappointed with this purse from Dooney and Bourke!! Lourdes

This is a beautiful bag. The pictures do not do it justice. However, it is huge and I frankly almost kept it for luggage, as a carry on bag. Returned it, trying a smaller version.

This purse is so beautiful. I absolutely adore it. I took it to Asheville where we had a girls weekend and received so many compliments. 2 weeks ago I traveled with it to Wales and then I carried the purse throughout London for several days after the Wales trip. I traveled on airplanes, in taxis, in an uber, and on the tube while carrying this bag. It's one of my favorite all time handbags. If I had to complain about anything it would be the weight but even that isn't a big issues. I have smaller purses that weigh more. This purse oozes luxury. Very nice indeed.

I have owned this bag for a little over a year and a half, and it is absolutely perfect for me. It holds lots of stuff, is durable, and always looks nice. I just ordered another one to keep in reserve. It gets my highest recommendation!

Oh, this bag! I stalked this bag for months trying to decide if it was worth the cost. It is stunning and a workhorse. If you are on the fence -- do not hesitate.

Dooney & Bourke has really upped its game in the past few years and this particular bag is a winner! I remember seeing Dooney bags a decade ago in various department stores with horribly garish colors and monograms plastered all over the waxed canvas bags and I would just walk b., thinking how ridiculous they looked. Not this bag...this is an elegant, well-made classic that will carry you through your days whether you are going to work or dressed casually and meeting your friends. This is my 1st Dooney & Bourke purchase after much hemming and hawing for a year and I am so glad I got it! I must admit that my handbags are from brands like Chanel, Gucci, but I have been using this bag everyday because it is such a sturdy workhorse bag. Ladies, before you gasp in horror at seeing your first scratch on your Dooney leather, do not panic -- this vachetta leather is meant to age beautifully and it will develop a lovely patina. Scratches will blend in (just gently rub your fingers over the leather) and your bag will develop a character of its own.

I too like many other women who bought this bag pondered over a year before actually taking the plunge of purchasing it. I love a big bag and thought this would be ideal for me. Well, the bag is a large bag, reading reviews everyone spoke of the weight of it, I thought "How heavy can a bag be?" Well, it is a bit hefty, but I love it! Though I carry everything in my bag I have had to reduce the number of items I carry now as to not make it so heavy! But it is still a winner...I love this bag as much as I knew I would when I first started looking at it. Purchased it in the Chestnut (stunning rich color), my favorite purse now. Oh, and did I mention this is my first Dooney & Burke?

I had originally purchased this bag in Chestnut because I love my small Chestnut satchel so much & wanted to upgrade to a larger size. Well...I didn't like the color or texture of the bag I received, so I returned it! It was dull, dark brown & pebbly textured - not at all like my small Chestnut satchel! I also have a satchel this size in Ocean & it's sublime - wonderful color, butter soft, smooth leather. I decided that since I wanted this size in a neutral color, I'd try the Natural - I have a hobo in Natural & it's beautiful. The satchel in Natural is gorgeous - exactly what I was expecting. Yes, it'll "mark" because the leather is soft, but it'll break in beautifully and obtain that well loved patina in time. It's a roomy bag, easily fitting a small makeup bag, my iPad, phone, hairbrush, snack, etc. I like to use this as an everyday bag because it's so high quality & looks great with everything from my suits to jeans. Great bag - you won't be disappointed.

Initially thought too large but didn't take long to fall in love. Literally came while I was tracking delivery after receiving conformation of processed order.

This bag is beautiful. Lots of room on the inside, very functional for everyday use. Love the color too, goes with everything. The darker stitching really accents and brings it all together.

I got this bag in brown T Moro color, and I love it! I've wanted a bag for every day use, and it has perfect size and color. The quality of the leather looks great, it feels a little bit stiff but good leather tends to be smoother and better after times of use so it's fine with me. I think it would be even better if the key holder string inside the bag was made of the same leather as the bag instead of thick fabric like material. That's the only complaint for this bag. But other than that, I'm quite pleased with this purchase and I'd like to buy another color if I can get a chance in the near future. :)

I love this bag! I have 2 Dooney satchels in the "small" size, but when I saw this in the Ocean Blue color, I talked myself into needing a bigger bag! I find it comfortable to carry by the handles, but I occasionally use the shoulder strap, too. While this is bigger than the small version of the satchel, I don't find it overwhelming...I'm 5'4, 123lbs. The Ocean Blue color is beautiful, it'll easily work 4 seasons of the year - I actually bought in anticipation of Fall! Well made bag, definitely high quality - think "investment" bag. The leather will wear in with age & in my opinion, that only makes it more beautiful. Just beautiful!

I love this bag! It is a classic bag that will always be in style. I purchased the black and chocolate this past winter. A few days ago I ordered it in Natural. I had so many compliments on this bag in each color! You can't go wrong with this bag. It's stylish and just the right size for everyday use!

I love this large Dooney & Bourke Florentine Vachetta satchel. Yes, it does get scratches on it so what that is the leather. My birthday is coming up in three months and I am going to buy this same satchel in red or pink or brown. I absolutely love this large satchel. Keep them coming Dooney & Bourke. And, Zappos, I will cry if I cannot buy another one for my big 53rd coming up. Please have this satchel available for my big 53rd coming up. It is well made and the weight is fine with me that just means it is made very well. I am so in love with this satchel.
