I bought these to hike through the Adirondacks and at one point my whole foot slipped into a river -- completely dry! I wore them all weekend; they're comfortable even with two pairs of socks, and warm. The only issue I have is they squish my second toe, but once I broke them in, it was fine. I am so glad I bought these; they'll last forever and are worth the money!

My feet are a pain -- literally! I have low arches, and if I wear any kind of arch support, they become unbearably painful. They are also painful without arch supports when I am active. Crazy, I know! I bought running shoes at a store that records one's stride and makes calculations to find the "perfect" pair of shoes, and even they didn't get it right (not even close!). I think that I would love snowboarding, but the only time I ever tried, I failed miserably because my rental boots killed my feet. People are often shocked to hear this because snowboarding boots are apparently known to be much less painful than, say, ski boots. All of that being said, I truly cannot believe how great my feet felt in these hiking boots! Against my better judgment, I wore them for a >10 mile hike right out of the box. We had actually planned on a much shorter hike, but I was more than happy to extend it because my feet felt so great. My right ankle started hurting a tiny bit in the last couple of miles, but nothing unbearable. The pain was of the surface variety, caused by the stiffness of the upper. I'm sure that the boots will soften as I wear them more. As far as sizing goes, I typically wear a size 9. I wondered if I should order a size 10 in these boots to accommodate foot swelling and hiking socks, but ended up going with a 9.5. I'm glad I did because 9.5 fit perfectly with medium hiking socks. This could be a fluke because I have read in a few places that Keen's sizing isn't consistent. I don't know how accurate that is. I highly recommend these boots! I don't know what makes them severely hurt some ankles and not others, and as I said, I'm not sure about the consistency of the sizing. All I know is that the pair that I received is wonderful for my problematic feet. They make me want to hike more!

Great pair of boots! They fit me perfectly because of the wider toe box in Keen shoes. I purchased a pair of hiking boots a couple of years ago from Eddie Bauer that I was never able to really wear because they didn't give my toes enough room. These not only fit, they are light, yet seem very sturdy. Metal eyelets. Tough laces. I have worn on several hikes and am totally happy with them. In fact, I like to wear them around the house. Usually I wear 9.5 but had to get size 10, so it seems they run about a half size small.

This is the first pair of hiking boots I have ever tried on, so I did not know what to expect. I ordered a half size up from what I normally wear in athletic shoes. The bigger size fit perfectly, but when I walked around, the shaft rubbed above my ankle funny. After trying on Keen Targhee II Mids, I have decided to return the Gypsums. The Targhees are much cushier, offer more arch support, and are slightly lower cut, so they do not rub above the ankle.

I tried this boot in my usual size, but very short. Even a 1/2 size up my big toe hits the front of the toe box. Plenty of toe room across, so I tried the Keen Oregon PCT in 1/2 size bigger than my usual size and they fit great. Both boots have great arch support. I tried on many hiking boots and Keens were the only ones that had good toe room across. I do not have a wide foot, so I'm glad I tried Keen.

So far, so good with these boots. Haven't been on any long hikes yet, but have been comfortable on short walks. Can't beat Keen for a roomy toe-box. Look forward to taking them to Canada this summer. I needed to go up a half size, as Keens tend to run small.

I have lots of Keen shoes, and love the way these boots look. They are for the most part very comfortable. However, my big toes keep butting against the front of the boot. A half size bigger was too big, so I went for the smaller size, the size I normally wear. I've hiked in them 3 times and haven't got any bruised toenails, but I don't think they got the sizing completely accurate on this boot.

Perfect! I am always a 9.5 in hiking boots & running shoes. Didn't have to go up or down. I got these to replace a pair of LL Bean hikers that I have had for about 15 years...they finally wore out! Love the brindle/navy because I will be camping/hiking in lots of Colorado dirt. So glad I found these.

I love these boots. So comfortable I find myself wearing them around the house. First time in cold weather (22F) yesterday and they were perfect. Only 2 1/2 mile hike around the lake in light snow and mmm...feet stayed warm and happy. I take a 10 in regular shoes but hiking often move up a size. The 11 is perfect.

I hiked in these boots in Whistler Canada and Mt. Rainier. These boots have a wide toe box and they proved to be excellent hiking downhill. Will buy another set for future! I wear a 9 but bought 91/2 and they fit great.

Just got them, so I can't attest to their durability. I have a wide front foot and narrow heel, and these boot seem to fit fine after an initial short walk (will try hiking next). The front part of the boot was plenty wide to accommodate my C or D width, which I often find in Keen street shoes. Thanks Keen! I did buy a half size larger than my street shoes to get the right fit, as many of the other reviewers indicated. If you have a narrow foot, these are probably not the right boots for you.

These hiking boots are great! I bought them for a 3 week trip to Africa. I wore them for a couple of days before we left to break them in but it really wasn't necessary as they were comfortable right away. They kept my feet very sturdy and dry when hiking around, climbing over rocks and up and down steep inclines. I would highly recommend them. I ordered a half size up and they were perfect.

Well I ordered a 1/2 size up based on other reviews and found them to be true to size, possibly a little wider than average. What I also found is that they were not as waterproof as I had expected. I just returned from a 3.5 mile hike on a snowy trail (32 degrees w/soft snow) and found my wool socks to be pretty wet, exactly what I was hoping to avoid in purchasing these. I do not believe these are truly waterproof, however they were very comfortable, with very little break in time needed and good arch support.

The big toe box on these is nice (in contrast to a similar pair I tried from Vasque, where even sizing up and trying wide boots my little toes still rubbed after a short walk). I've taken them on a couple of short hikes on uneven & hilly ground and so far they're comfortable.

I have small feet (size 4) so I have a difficult time finding shoes in my size. I could buy kid's shoes, but I find they don't have the support that adult shoes have. I purchased five different hiking boots hoping to find one pair that work for me. These shoes are perfect. As most reviewers will say, they run small - which is what I need. So, I purchased the size 5 and it fits my size 4 (Europe 35) feet! Woohoo! I haven't hiked with them yet, but so far they seem great. They have a wide toe area, which is what I need as well. They are expensive, but they will be worth every dime if they are comfortable hiking all day. Invest in your feet - they will make or break your day.

I'm writing a review because of how helpful everyone else's review was for me. This shoe is great. I couldn't wait to wear it. It's like a pillow for the sole. Wear an 8 in athletic shoe. Ordered at 8.5 for this one since everyone else said so. Perfect fit. As for Zappos ordering and shipping, on point as always.

The footbed of this shoe was amazing. It's hard for me to find a comfortable shoe and this one was great. Alas, the top rubbed my ankle. I will be ordering the low Keen instead.

I have a previous year's color of these boots, and I've finally taken them on a real hike so it's time to review! Usually I wear these for my fall/winter/spring dog walks - we go between 3 and 6 miles 5 days a week, on paved city trails and sidewalks. For that purpose, they are great - I live in south central Missouri, and they are great in our winter conditions - no problems unless we have a sheet of ice down, and then well to be honest I'm probably skipping the dog walk anyway! Today I went on a hike in a wilderness area - For the first time the boots were really tested. We were in the gateway to the Ozarks (Texas County, MO), and we went off trail for a bit even. After 8 miles on a cold February day, my feet were toasty warm, dry (after crossing 3 creeks), and felt great. The rest of me? Cold, and really tired. But they are great boots!

I usually wear a 6 1/2 wide and I got a 7 M in these. Wonderfully comfortable! My feet are happy in them. Very lightweight as well, which is very nice. I got them for hiking/trekking around Europe, so I needed very comfortable ones.

First pair of Keens, work great with light wt socks or my heavy socks, orthotics fit great. Not too heavy but like the cushion around the ankle.

Like many other reviews, I had to order a 1/2 size larger than I typically wear. First day out of the box I wore them on an 8 mile hike. I replaced the insole with the green Superfeet insole. Super comfortable, supportive, and waterproof. Very happy with them!

This shoe fits like a hiking boot should. It has the Keen big box toe space which helps for longer hikes om uneven ground. I wear a US 9/Euro 40. The 40, in this model, is sold as a 9.5 and that fit me perfectly. My previous hiking boots have been below the ankle. This is a nice supportive change. They were comfortable immediately.

I have so many foot problems including a bone spur on the top of my foot. My husband purchased a pair of Timberlands as a gift, and I had to return them because they caused me too much pain. These are wonderful! I wear Keen sneakers and these are just as comfy. I wear them out on our winter hikes in the woods and my feet are warm and cozy. Just as other reviews stated, there was no actual break-in period. Comfortable from day one. I'm so grateful for Keen's.

I am very happy with this purchase. We had a big snow today (11") and they were dry and comfortable. The toe box is wide enough to let your toes wiggle. They were perfectly dry. There is just the right amount of arch support. I am very happy.
