I live in Alaska and these boots are the nicest that I have owned. They are just high enough, stay dry in snow and slush and are toasty warm. I have a high instep and the laces allow even my feet to be comfortable. I have only worn them this past weekend and received several compliments already! I did order half a size larger so I could wear my wool socks but I think I could have ordered my normal size and been fine.

Comfortable, stylish, durable! I live in upstate NY and these boots can survive our winters. The lace-up style fits all ankle/shin sizes. I love that they don't require any water proofing as well. I was also amazed at Zappos' kind and personalized customer service. My recommendation? Buy them.

After spending tons of time looking for quality winter boots to hold up in Midwest winters AND something cute - I finally found these! It hasn't started snowing yet so I don't have winter experience yet. However, when I first tried them on they were SO warm. And they are very comfortable and quality which is hard to find for a decent price. They are still cute enough to wear once you are inside. I like the grey color because they will go with everything. If you have a range in your shoe size I would order the larger range. Love these! I feel very prepared for winter.

Cute, comfortable and well worth the price. I had tried at least a dozen boots and 6 or so brands at stores in person. Nobody had these. They are exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely add arch support insoles in them but otherwise they are perfect. They really run small, however. I'm technically a 7.5 on the Brannock but I typically wear an 8.5 or 9 to accommodate my high instep and wider foot. I ended up with a 9.5 in these and they are not too long. In fact they are barely long enough - just right. And they are plenty roomy in width when I normally buy "W" if I can.

I have been looking for a winter walking boot for a while and ordered this one based on the reviews and the price. I am a size 8 and I ordered an 8 1/2 because I always go up a 1/2 size in boots to wear a heavy sock. I am pleased with the fit and they are very comfortable. They are warm and have good tread on the bottom. I live in WI and walk all year long. I would recommend these boots.

I searched high and low for a boot that was practical and warm, as well as safe for the Alaskan winter and these are a true gem. I wear normally a Australian 7 or a USA 7.5 or 8, I took the risk and ordered the 7.5 and they fit snug with thick socks. I would buy these again definitely.

I live in MA, and I was looking for a warm, comfortable, stylish snow boot. After reading the great reviews, I had to order them. They fit perfectly, I purchased a 8.5 and I sometimes wear 8.5 and 9. The 8.5 was great, even has a room with a thick sock and room to tuck snow pants in. I can wear them all day, my feet are so cozy. They are soft inside, easy to slip in and out of, just the right amount of arch support (I have an average arch), they are great in the snow and ice, skid free. The coldest I have worn them is low teens while at the ski slopes, standing outside. My feet never felt warmer. Not too clunky either. I love them, highly recommended!

I haven't bought a pair of snow boots in maybe 15 years, so I was amazed at how beautifully light and flexible the Ice Maiden boot is. Another huge plus for me is how easy they are to put on - just a tug on the ends of the laces and the whole boot tightens down - none of this pulling on sections of lace all the way up the leg. I am really pleased with these boots!

I love these boots! I wore them two days in a row to work all day for the very first time. There was no need for a "breaking in" period and they were so warm! I didn't even wear thick socks with them and they were great! They looked cute with my jeans and a skirt, too. My foot tends to run wide through the toe box and these did not pinch my pinky toes!

I am wearing my Columbia Ice Maidens today since we finally got some snow here in Chicago. When I first received these boots, I was skeptical that they would actually be waterproof. After trudging through the snow however, I am happy to report that my feet are still warm and dry! I like the lace-up feature because it makes it easy to fit my calves. These boots are cute, especially considering how functional and relatively inexpensive they are. They feel a little bulky to walk in this first day, but I think they will break in. I am very happy with my purchase!

I have looked a lot for a cute, versital, comfortable cold weather boot, and this is it for me. I have trouble with many boots being sloppy. These have laces that are easy to adjust the fit. The foot-bed is very cushy and comfortable. These are well-made boots.

I love these boots! Not only are they cute, but I recently wore them to a very cold, windy, and wet football game. After 3 hours, my feet were the only part of me that were warm and dry! Better yet, they were comfortable right out of the box!

These boots are really warm and comfortable too. I'm usually a 6.5 but those were a little tight so I exchanged them for a 7. I can't wait for it to snow so I can wear them! Zappos is amazing as well. I bought these at 10pm and I received them the next day. Amazing customer service! I love Zappos

These immediately became my everyday shoes this fall. They are easy to tuck my pants into to keep the draft out, but I do feel moisture on the tops of my feet if I walk through a damp field. My only issue has been that they are so rigid at the ankles I have twisted mine a couple of times if I start to run, I know, they are not running shoes, but with two dogs I do need to pick up and go quickly sometimes. However, they have started to break in so I can do a short run without any trouble.

Finally found a boot that keeps my feet warm and looks good at the right price. The laces are great - help keep the snow out and the fit just right. Not sure if I should have ordered the 1/2 size up. Lots of room for Hotties and thick wool socks but may be a bit too big for a good fit for walking.

Love these boots! They're very cute, very comfortable, and very warm - perfect for me to get through a Chicago winter. They seem very well-made, especially the soles, so they should last for a couple winters, hopefully. I used them in icy conditions and thought the traction was pretty good - no falls! Very affordable too; a great deal for the price! I thought they were a little roomy, but it's just enough to use a thick, warm sock if you want.

These shoes are way cuter than in the picture. They are comfortable and fit great. And as always, had the best experience shopping with Zappos!

These are the most comfortable boots I have ever put on straight out of the box! I normally have to get a wide shoe, but since these did not come in wide I got a 1/2 size bigger and they fit perfect!

These boots are warm and the seem to be resistant to water, although I haven't taken them out in the snow yet. There is not much shock absorption, so I did need to buy inserts to make them comfortable enough to wear for a full day out.

Not for people with wide feet. Ordered a half size bigger than my usual and they were still too narrow. The stitching on the sides of the toe area will rub blisters. They look cheap in person. They are going back.

I need boots that are "the best kind of low maintenance. They think they are high maintenance, when really they're low maintenance." I need boots that A.) Keep my feet warm. (My feet are always cold, so this is a big one.) B.) Are waterproof -snow and rain. C.) Don't have a huge, heavy snow boot look. (I'm not an Ugg fan, nor can I rock the Napoleon Dynamite look.) I'm no mountain climber, but I haul in groceries for the fridge and wood to heat the house. I chase our kids and dogs across mountainous terrain, and trek all over town doing Mom stuff. I need boot that will keep up, no matter the weather. The Ice Maiden (and such a name!) was my first voyage in finding an all-around winter boot. When I first put them on, they felt a bit big. But after I slipped in my sexy orthotics, they were much better. Still roomy, but not too big. I would say they feel one size larger, and on the wide side. It's dreamy for me, as I can have width issues, but if you have a narrow foot, it may not be your dream boot. Fine for a pair of regular socks (or two) or heavy wool socks (or two!) Did I mention I'm always cold? This is why I like the lace-up feature. It pulls fairly tight, no matter what you ??re wearing on your feet, and the laces are plenty long, so they will stay tied. (I tuck them into the boot.) The fur bit on the top isn't my favorite, but I also think it would look odd without something there. Function: A shiny 5 stars! I was worried the suede (vs. "leather") might be harder to keep clean, but I sprayed them with a silicone repellent spray and they still look swell, considering their constant use! A stiff brush has gotten the mud, etc. right off. The quilted section keeps them light and flexible so my feet aren't worn out from wearing heavy boots all day. But the suede sections are stiff enough that it has the stability I need when I'm walking around on uneven terrain. The traction is good, in mud, rain and snow. I've tromped over muddy hill and snowy dale, was in Park City, UT on a cold windy night in mid-December, I've been on wet sidelines in damp fog, and had to choose my depth of puddles in parking lots. Warm and dry, my boots and I remain triumphant! Comfort: I wear them consistently. I pull them on in the morning when I get dressed (for warmth). I wear them all day for comfort (and warmth). I wear them in and out of the house, because they are warm, comfortable and I can go, brave the terrain/elements/crowds, come back to my front door and still be wearing the same footwear. When the seasons change, I'll get back to wearing more of my (many) Zappos purchases. Until then, watch out, Napoleon! These boots are Dynamite!

Water/snowproof: I bought these for a trip to New York in the middle of winter. While we were there for a week, it snowed, hailed, sleeted, and/or rained nearly every day. (Gross.) The temperatures ranged between 20* and 35* the entire trip. We did a lot of walking, and these boots were amazing. My feet stayed completely dry (on a day when people were discussing, en masse, how wet their shoes and socks were) and, even more impressive, they stayed warm. I wore one pair of normal socks and my feet never got cold (my feet are always cold, so this impressed me greatly). When we got home, we were greeted with 10 inches of snow. (The snow was taller than the boots in some areas!) I was able to walk through the snow with no problem, even standing outside at the train station in unplowed snow for 20 minutes not moving or walking, and again my feet stayed warm and dry. Comfort: We easily walked 15+ miles during our trip. This was the only pair of shoes I brought, and I wore them right out of the box. I could not believe how comfortable they were! This was also impressive, since even my sneakers start to irritate me after that much walking. I think it might've been the extra support in the ankles because it was a taller boot. Traction: There was a little bit of awkward squeaking when walking inside on floors until the soles dried off a bit. Nothing too major, though. Other than that, they did quite well in wet/snowy/slippery conditions and I didn't feel like I was going to break my neck walking up and down the stairs for the subway. They did get a little slippery when walking over wet grates, but even then, not too bad. Fit: I'm usually between a 9 1/2 and 10. I ordered a 10. I couldn't wear two pairs of socks comfortably (too tight), but the good news is, you don't need two pair of socks to keep your feet warm. I have slightly narrow feet and had no issues with sliding around. The laces allow you to find a comfortable fit both in the foot (compensating slightly for my narrow width) and around your calves (compensating for my larger calves). I wore these under boot cut jeans because I don't have the legs to pull off skinny jeans, and it looked totally normal. The downside to this method is that my jeans got soaked, but the good news is that I never noticed because the boots were so warm and waterproof.

No snow yet here in Michigan to test playing outside, but already I love these boots. Have worn on a messy, mushy day to a movie theater, and the boots were great walking both inside and outside. I was comfortable in them the entire day, and my high arches were just fine. I'm able to tuck my pants in a bit which I like in winter.
