I absolutely love these! Tough, motorcycle-inspired boots! I love the fact that they're knee high so they're instantly different than the glut of ankle or calf high boots lately. And, there's a decent sized heel, not flat (no mom boot here) and not too high and just right. Best boots ever.

I just received mine and I have to say I love them! I ordered the Burnt Red and the color is beautiful! The fit runs a little big, I usually wear a 6 or 6 1/2 and I ordered a 6. The 6 1/2 would have been too big as I have room for a thick sock in these. Next day delivery! I love Zappos.

I love this boot! I wanted to best Frye boot to wear with skirts, dresses, leggings, and skinny jeans. I searched, and tried lots of styles and colors, and decided this was the boot for me!

I get so many compliments on these boots. I have them in Burnt red...the color is beautiful. They are my go to boot...casual or dress.

These boots are AWESOME! I have bigger calves that measure 15" around and while I had a bit of a struggle getting them over skinny jeans I think they will give over time. These will look great dressed up or down, pants or skirts. I was concerned over the heel height and if I'd be able to walk around in them all day whether it be at work or on vacation in NYC and after just a few minutes in them I can tell that that won't be an issue at all- super comfy. I normally wear orthotics for support but for now I don ??t think I ??ll need them. Perhaps once the inner cushioned foot bed flattens out that will change but for now I ??m glad I can leave them out. My only concern is how they will give over time. Right now I have the 7.5 and they fit well on the left but a bit loose on the right, nothing a nice pair of boot socks can't fix. I just hope it doesn't get too out of hand leading to blisters and the like. The price tag is a killer but I suspect these will be the last pair of black boots I'll ever need (want is another matter entirely). They are clearly built to last.

I've worn these boots every single day since receiving them. Love them! I have wider calves and these fit perfect.

I've tried on dozens of boots this fall and finally settled on this one for a few important reasons. The thinner leather shaft that others have complained about are actually what make this boot perfect for me. I have larger, athletic calves and because of the softer, flexible leather shaft, I could easily pull these boots over skinny jeans without struggling - and they look terrific. I got the dark brown vintage tumbled version and they have a classic look without being too stiff looking - but still dressy enough for my workplace. I also needed something with a mid-heel that I could wear under work pants that would give me a little height (I'm on the shorter side) ...and still look great with skirts, too. If I wear them over tights, I adjust the buckle so they stay up without slouching. These do run a bit large, so I got a half size down from my regular shoe size. Overall, very pleased, and expect these will last as long as my pair from college many years ago!

Best I could find in a boot I can wear with dresses -- with some heel height and a boxy enough toe area for my comfort walking in the city. Would have preferred taller on leg and a brown wooden heel, but sale price sold me. I did have to choose 7.5 even though I am most often an 8 and sometimes in boots even 8.5. In another Frye boot, 8 was just right, so this runs large perhaps.

I so wanted to love these boots. Out of the box they are gorgeous, very substantial and almost heavy compared to some cheaper quality boots. The soles and heels are very solid, the leather has a cool tumbled distressed look. BUT... I wore them at work to try them out and my little toes ended up being pinched pretty bad by the end of the day. I was relieved to take them off. Not sure yet if I'm going to keep them and try to break them in at this price, I would expect a boot to be awesome from the start. So, the jury's still out on the Vera boot.

These are beautiful. I ordered the burnt red, and the color is darker and more brown than I expected, but very nice. It looks like the boots were made in a blond leather and then stained afterward, so there are some spots where the color of the leather is different, but I think it adds to the character of the leather. They are comfortable, too. The only thing that I do not like is that the buckle on the side pokes into my knee if I cross one leg over the other, and snags on things if I wear them with leggings. But the style is classic, classy, and every day wearable. They didn't have my size, so I ordered half a size up. I put a Dr. Scholl's squishy insert in it and it solved the problem.

These are great! True to size and comfortable. I have the Vera Slouch flats as well and the calf is roomier in those than these. But they are still great.

These boots are very comfortable but do fit a bit larger. The shaft of the boot is soft and has ample room for those who have a larger calf. The color is as shown online and looks great with jeans. I received many compliments on these boots when I wore them. I was able to wear them out for an evening of dancing/socializing and my feet were not sore at all.

Great looking boot from Frye, and well made, I always got compliments! Very good materials. The only downside is that they were uncomfortable and my feet were begging to get out of the boots by the end of the day.

I loved these boots. However, when I put them on my feet, I noticed they were very different. They stated the circumference was 15". The left foot was 1" smaller in circumference which is terrible for a pricey pair of boots. Unfortunately, I will be returning these.

The soles are oversized and made the boots look ridiculous on my petite 5'1" frame (size 7). No padding or arch support. The main plus is Frye's impeccable craftsmanship and leather quality.

A great boot and a great look but definitely size down. Sadly, I had to return due to being too large. Zappos customer service though is second to none! I was able to exchange and can't wait to receive my new boots!

I love Frye boots and own a few pairs, they are real heavy hitters in my fall/winter wardrobe. Wanting a little variety, I was excited to try these based on seeing them on some fashion blogs I visit - I thought they would be really cute to wear with skirts and dresses. I really liked the idea of the higher heel as well. I got them in the Black Calf Shine color, which kind of disappointed me right off the bat. The leather is super soft and smells really great, but this color had a kind of strange, blotchy un-even appearance. There were also some mysterious "sticky" patches on them, at first it looked kind of dull and waxy, but when I rubbed at the spots with my fingers whatever the substance was became gummy and peeled right off. Bizarre. The heel I had so admired was horrible in person - very cheap looking rubber with an odd rough texture that I did not at all expect. The rounded part of it was also kind of peeling and raggedy looking along the bottom. So I wasn't thrilled about that at all. I'm not happy about spending a lot of money on boots that seem like they won't wear well, and based on my experience so far, I didn't feel confident about these. (The other Frye boots I have are leather heels with a hard rubber tap, which seems more durable then this completely rubber heel.) The overall style of the boot was not what I expected either - it looked great around my foot and ankle, but up near my mid-calf it started to gap out and slouch strangely. I think it's because the leather is so thin and isn't lined, so it just kind of hung weirdly around my calves. It made me feel like I was a little kid in giant fireman boots. I tried these on with tights and a denim skirt - the boots just made my legs look completely weird and no matter how I tried to adjust the buckles at the top it didn't help. Also, the buckles at the top of the boot tore my tights when I crossed my legs - the buckle is kind of sharp and really snagged them easily. So what can I say positive about the boots? There are definite redeeming features: I have a very narrow foot, and the boots fit them well, and were true to size for me. They felt comfortable right out of the box, I wouldn't imagine I would have had to break them in. With the heel being wide, they would offer good stability if I was to be walking around for awhile, and the foot bed is nicely padded. The rounded toe is also a really cute look! I really was so excited about these and pretty bummed out with my experience with them - I ended up sending them back due to the fact that I didn't like the look of the leather's color, the style of the boot didn't work on my legs, and I don't like to shell out a lot of money for shoes that don't seem durable. I'm going to stick to my beloved Veronica back-zips and Engineer 8Rs from now on!

I was so excited when I ordered these, but I was ultimately SO DISAPPOINTED. The foot size felt fine, but the calf circumferences were literally 2 inches different. So disappointed, especially since I had such high expectations for my first pair of Fryes. I will not be purchasing any in the future.

I ordered the Tan VintageTumble Full Grain and was expecting the color that was shown on the Zappos website and what I got was nowhere close to this color. The leather felt cheap, plastic like. The dye job was really bad. The left ankle strap had red markings which the right did not. The right lug sole on the inner side had a crack. I normally wear a size 6 and bought the 6 - it felt 1/2 big in the foot. Maybe a 5.5 would have fit me. The width was just right. The calf was tight and I was barely able to get it all the way up but I know leather (if this is real leather) will stretch with wear. I would have kept this pair and would have tried to stretch the calf area but the crack on the lug sole and the red markings on the left ankle strap just did not make it worth the sale price.
