This boot is gorgeous and felt comfortable the first time I put it on. The top of the shaft is adjustable which is good for me because I have small calves and it is nice not to have the boot gaping out. The leather is soft and supple and looks very well made. This is a great boot and looks like it will last, making the high price easier to justify.

This is the highest heeled boot I've bought in years and because of knee problems I won't go any higher. I read the reviews here before I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. I wear an 8 1/2 and have a medium width foot.I ordered 1/2 size down and they are perfect. I still have enough room for a mid weight sock. I also have a well developed calf of 15" and because you can adjust the buckle and they slouch, it's not a problem. I think they look really sexy on the leg. They are so comfortable that it's like wearing lower heels... they are that well padded and balanced. I got them in black which I would call a black wash because in places it looks grey. I no longer live in the States but I still come to Zappos to read reviews before a purchase.

These boots are amazing! I have two pairs. I bought the brown ones and the distressed black leather (at different times, of course). I wear an 8, but I could not catch them on sale for that size in the black. 8½ works with thick socks. They are comfortable, provide good stability on snow and ice and the sole is just great. My husband calls them my "Bootsy Collins" boots. Only y'all from the 70's know what I mean. I am keeping them anyways! If you wear an 8, get an 8 and so on. They work very well with skinny jeans and tights. Your legs will be banging. I cannot tell you how many compliments I have gotten. I cannot wait for winter to rock my distressed black ones with my leather motorcycle jacket. I love these boots! Keep them coming, Frye. I am a convert for life!

I want to wear these every day. Don't agree with other reviewers about quality. Just because they're different than others doesn't mean the quality is poor. They do come with some weird waxy substance on them. Don't freak. Just wipe with damp cloth. They go with everything and I get compliments all the time.

Kissed a lot of grey boot frogs before landing on this one and it was totally worth it. If you are looking for grey leather boots in this style don't kiss all the frogs I did. Just buy this. I am size 8, on the more narrow side with flat feet. These are comfortable and beautiful.

I LOVE these boots! From the second I put them on, I wanted to wear them every single day. I actually bought about 10 new skirts just so I could do that. Before I purchased them I was worried because some other reviewers said the leather quality wasn't good. But the leather is awesome, as always with Frye boots! They're "slouch" boots so the leather is thinner on the calves so they can slouch down, but it's very quality leather. I have a pair of Frye riding boots that were really stiff and so hard to break in. These have been easy. I wore two pairs of socks the first day just to be safe, but they haven't been a problem and are already very comfortable. I've only worn them for about two weeks. I get compliments about them constantly. They look really cute with boot toppers and leg warmers. They look really cute with skirts or leggings or skinny jeans. I'm thinking about buying another pair in black. I can't remember the name of the color I bought, but it's kind of the splotchy brown. I bought an 8 and I usually wear an 8 1/2. They fit awesome. They are a bit narrow, but I have fairly narrow feet so it's okay. Love love love them!

I love this pair from Frye. Received tons of compliments. A bit pricey but you won't be sorry. The heel is perfect since I'm flat footed. I already own 2 of the Veronica Slouch but in low heels. I still love them though since they are very comfortable. The Vera Slouch is just as comfy. They just happened to be on sale so that was definitely a plus.

I just love Frye boots. I already own 2 of the Veronica Slouch Wide-Shaft but when I saw these and were on sale, I just had to have them. I got them in black vintage and in maple brown. What makes them stand out are the heels. The Veronica slouch are flat but the heels on these boots, in my opinion, are better for my feet since I'm flat footed. I got them in size 7 and I feel they are true to size. Yes, ladies. They are a little pricey but you won't be sorry. The only thing I noticed is that this particular color has a grayish hint to it. But it's perfect the way it is.

I had received this boot in 2 colors, and I wanted to keep both, but decided on the Grey Vintage Tumble which had beautiful cobbled leather. The fit was very comfy from the start, and broke in very easily. The leather on the shaft of the boot is soft leather but stays up nicely with skinny jeans. I am 5'10, have very skinny calves and a size 10 foot and I'm always worried that boots will be too wide at the top but for being a slouch boot they fit very nicely. The footbed offers a great support, I have a narrow foot and long toes and had a nice amount of wiggle room, plus the round toe and perfect heel height made my foot look smaller, unlike the riding boots with a low heel that make my feet look like a banana boat. I am a Frye Boot addict!

I ordered the vintage grey, and they are awesome! The leather is soft, but not "floppy." They will definitely slouch and conform to your leg over time. They have a very comfortable footbed, especially for a 3" heel. I have the Frye Carson boots as well, and these are significantly more comfortable (although the leather on the Carsons seems to be a bit thicker and more durable). The pictures online do not to the grey justice--it's more of a deep gunmetal grey.

Nice. Very happy I bought these. I waited for a good sale and the brown vintage was on sale for a awesome price. I purchased a size 9 in this boot. I have a really high instep and these slip right on! (usually impossible). I also have wide feet and they fit like a glove. If you have narrow feet I would stay away from this style. I have a 14 1/2 inch calf and I have room for my regular jeans and my skinny jeans. Highly recommend they are really beautiful!

I am a lover of Frye and these did not disappoint. I think this is my new favorite pair! I have muscular calves and they fit perfectly under jeans. I also ordered my normal size. And they are super comfortable! I just wore them for 11 hours straight and my feet feel awesome, which is not normal for me. Buy these!

These are gorgeous, high-quality boots! I got them in the Tan Vintage Tumbled color and I've gotten compliments on them every time I've worn them. I can't help but compare these boots to other boots I see when I'm out and about around town - the difference in quality is so noticeable - everything else looks fake and cheap by comparison (I guess they'd better, because these boots aren't exactly inexpensive!) They do run large, as many other reviewers have mentioned - I'm usually a very solid 7.5, and I needed the size 7 in these boots. These are definitely a slouch style - they do not fit closely to your ankle/lower calf, but have a wider appearance - a little more casual looking, I would say. The toe box can feel a little bit narrow after you've been wearing them for a while - but that comes with the territory when you're wearing a heel. They're also pretty brand-new, so I think they'll stretch to my foot the more I wear them. Overall, I couldn't be happier!

These are beautiful boots. I wanted grey boots with a medium heel, high enough to wear with work trousers that I normally wear with heels. Although not as dressy as other boots I have for work, these are so wonderful, I am wearing them with everything. They are soft and a beautiful color. They are very comfortable and have a perfect shaft height. I am not even 5'2" so I am always looking for "tall" boots I can wear with skinny jeans that are not too tall for my petite size. These are perfect. They are great with skinny jeans, leggings, dresses and trousers. And they were on sale! Plus, Zappos is amazing. I ordered these on Sunday and received them on Tuesday! I don't know how Zappos does it. Other online retailers just can't compare to your service and fast shipping. I am so pleased!

I bought these on sale for my wife. They slipped on easy and she said the heel is comfortable, not too high. The leather looks rich and smells great. She said she will wear these with a dress, skirt and her skinny jeans. We got her normal size and they fit. Most of all, I think she looks like a hottie and all the guys will be envious that she is with me! Thanks Zappos for the usual über fast delivery. Another satisfied customer.

I am usually a 7 in most shoes, but upon reading reviews I decided to order the 6.5 in burnt red. I am so glad I listened to the reviews, the 6.5 fit perfectly! I love them. The leather smells and feels amazing and the boot is stunning. I don't usually like heeled boots because they seem too "dressy" for everyday wear, but this is not the case with these boots! They can easily be dressed up or down. For girls who have high arches (like myself), these boots are going to need some sort of insert for arch support since they are pretty flat.

Have not had a chance to wear these yet b/c it so hot here this summer. They looked big on my calves, but not too bad with jeans tucked in. Not sure how well they work out with a skirt and I may exchange them. I normally wear a 7 1/2 or 8 and ordered these in an 8. Felt too big.

I received these boots yesterday and I love them! I wear a 7.5 in all shoes except Nike. I ordered 7.5 in these and they fit perfectly. When I put them on, they felt a tiny bit wide and loose towards the heel and ankle so I tightened the bottom buckle one notch and they are perfect! Wearing a thicker sock would work, too. This is my first pair of Frye boots and if anyone is thinking about purchasing a pair, I would highly recommend it. They are so soft and have that nice leather smell. I also read the back story on Frye and how they make their boots...it was pretty interesting. It will make you appreciate them even more! I've had them slightly over 24 hours and have gotten several compliments. Great product, very nice people at Zappos, all around great experience!

Overall I love this boot, the style is great and the quality is outstanding. The small heel extends the leg and creates a super fit. Plus the functional straps allowed me to create the perfect fit for my foot. Luckily around Christmas time I had already tried on a pair of Fryes in a near by store so I knew that the Frye boots run a half size large (normally a 7.5, I wear a 7 in Frye). If you don't know your size in Frye boots, I highly recommend trying on a pair in a store near by before buying online.

These are my favorite boots! I own them in two colors. I like the heel height and the fact that they are easy to pull on! That is not true of all boots! Great with dresses and skirts, leggings and skinny jeans.

These are amazingly gorgeous boots - true to size, the insoles feel like gel filled clouds. No break in time needed. The Slate burnished antique color is pretty true to the photo depiction, maybe a shade grayer/bit cooler toned. It's a good neutral warm/cool/midtoned gray with plenty of variations. Very versatile color that will go with pretty much anything. These will also work for larger calves - and will stretch more over time (which for me is a good thing!).

I love Frye's Vera slouch boots in grey. They are perfect for snowy/icey conditions due to the lug sole. The heel height is great and still very sturdy. The color is very versatile! I got them half a size smaller than my normal size because the toe area is wider than the Taylor pull-ons, for example.

I have the Vera Slouch in black already, and I find I wear it often due to the lug sole (great traction in lousy weather!), the heel height (just enough lift but totally comfortable, wearable), and the generous calf (mine run about 16"!). One thing to know: I bought the black on sale elsewhere, and the leather was not as high-quality as my other Fryes; I bought the burnt red on sale here at Zappos, and the leather is gorgeous! Maybe Frye read the early reviews of the Vera and changed the materials? I don't know, but jump on these while they are still on sale! And the burnt red color is just gorgeous -- a rich reddish brown, stunning. They arrived yesterday, I am wearing them today, and my office mate just ordered a pair!
