I want to preface this review first with I have never successfully worn a flip flop in my life. I never could stand the fabric between my toes. But when I developed plantar fasciitis and bilateral heel spurs and was at my wits end because I really needed some relief, I read the reviews and took a chance. The left foot took some getting used to but after a few days, I was golden. I wore them to the beach with my girlfriends a week later and wear them around the house as my slippers and put them on whenever my heel pain really acts up. They have excellent arch support and great cushioning. They are a "god send" for me at least. I will buy more in different colors next summer. Thank you, Orthaheel, for making these sandals and hope that your company never discontinues them.

I am one of those old folks who doesn't really trust on-line purchasing but Zappos has made a convert out of me. It was easy-peasy. I found the shoes in a local store, tried them on for comfort and when I came home, I ordered them. I ordered on Friday afternoon and had them by the following Tuesday afternoon. You can bet I will be using Zappos services again. And by the way, the Orthaheel Tide is a very comfortable shoe with great arch support. I wore them for two days of walking at a couple theme parks and at the end of the day, my feet, legs and back were all pain free. You should try them.

Highly recommend these shoes. My knees were starting to hurt at times and when I read about these I decided to try them. At first the new position does feel strange but after a little bit you don't notice at all and no knee pain.

My back always hurt after a day in sandals. These are unbelievable! I wear them all day and feel great!

Love these! I have super high arches and the have great support just in the right places. I normally wear a 8.5 but ordered a 8. Fits perfectly.

I especially loved the fit in the arch and the width was perfect. It was just too long in the heel and it doesn't come in half sizes.

I love these flip flops! I have seriously flat problem feet. I work on film sets and must have excellent support to get through long days without wanting to kill myself or cut my feet off at the ankles. The Orthaheel Tides give excellent support and actually look like a traditional flip flop and not an orthotic granny sandal. My progression with orthotic-type "healthy" sandals started with FitFlops. I bought my first pair (Walkstar 1) after I suffered through the first evening at an outdoor music festival and couldn't even make it through a few hours of traversing back and forth across the grounds without it becoming painful. The next morning I bought a pair of Fitflops and my feet were in heaven. Over the next couple years, I ended up buying four pairs (Walkstar 1s and Pietras). However, I always hated how thick the soles are and how most of the styles were designed. I always felt like I was wearing "mom" shoes. Not the cutest sandals for a self-proclaimed shoe addict, you know? But they accomplished something I hadn't experienced in a long time - freedom from sore, tired feet, knees and back. Then, to widen my healthy sandal options, I bought my first pair of Birkenstocks (Gizehs) after I noticed that they looked "not bad" on my cousin's wife. The breaking in process was a bit tough for me, but once it was done I never took them off. I liked how the long strap down the center of the Gizehs made them seem more fashion forward and I liked the lower sole - even if it was more rugged and granola. Unfortunately, this is when I noticed that the Fitflops no longer did the trick. I really needed the real arch support of the Birkenstock footbed. Just being soft and cushy wasn't enough anymore. After a few months of nearly daily wear, my BirkoFlor Gizehs were getting nappy and starting to break down. At this point, I moved on to finding an actual flip flop with support. They had to be out there - not just a mythical beast! I really really missed wearing flip flops that looked like Havaianas or some other slimmed down brand. So the hunt was on. I started to do my research on different sites by reading reviews of the most popular brands and styles. Time and time again, Orthaheel came up as one of the top rated brands. I finally decided on the Tides and bought them in black and bronze. I'm so so happy that I did! The support is amazing. The soles are some of the slimmest I've seen (there are others out there, but these are pretty dang good), especially in comparison to the Fitflops that I had been wearing. I normally wear a 6.5 and bought them in a size 6. They fit perfectly. Not too narrow, tight or short in the heel. I was able to wear them straight out of the box with no break-in period. I think the shiny stripe does dress them up a bit - I no longer feel like I have to defend my granny sandals to anyone. Yay! I love them! I'm marking them as "larger than marked" because they don't come in half sizes and I ordered down to a size 6. I don't know if they normally recommend this - I believe Fitflop does, which is why I did the same for these.

It was perfect for me. I have my right arch down, and it helps me to put my leg in the right position. I bought it in 40, because I am 39.5 I really recommend those shoes.

Wow. I never thought I would wear flats again, and certainly not flip flops! When I got plantar fasciitis last summer I threw out all my sandals, and figured I'd never wear sandals again! I got these Orthaheel Tides in the mail yesterday, and I'm in love. My 12-year-old even thinks they past muster as "real flip flops" -- not like the "ugly shoes" (as she calls them) I wear most days. These are the best thing for someone who needs excellent support and wants to wear shoes like everyone else. Thank you Orthaheel!

I do not write many reviews but if I did not write about these shoes then it would not be fair to all the consumers out there that may not try these. I am a comfort shoe junkie and I do not have any foot issues (maybe because I have been wearing good supportive shoes) but my friend who is a skeptic and has foot pain is a complete fan of these shoes. I bought them for her to try and now she tells everyone. She went to China last month and walked the Great wall in them if that is a testament to the shoe. They are worth every dime because the construction is so durable and nice. It takes a few days to get used to them and do not be discouraged when you first put them on. Orthaheel even says to wear them around the house for a few hours. Once you do you will not want any other non supportive sandals on your feet.

I really like them. They are very comfortable. I have trouble with my arch, and these have really helped my feet to hurt much less.

I purchased these after reading some articles about flip-flops being bad for your body alignment and feet. These were recommended by some national podiatrists group. These are fairly unimpressive in the looks department, black on black, but they have definitely made a difference in the way my feet and back feel, especially when doing a lot of walking! I am looking forward to ordering other shoes from this company!

Love these shoes. Have ordered multiple pairs of different types and brands. Hands down these are the best. I wear a true 10.5 these fit well in a 10. I have foot numbness often, after working all day can't to come home and wear my flip flops...want to order the entire line...super support.

These shoes are wonderful. This is my second pair. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and going barefoot is not an option. I wear these in the house and also outside, where ever flip-flops would be the norm. They provide great support and comfort.

I have struggled with heel spurs and plantar fasciitis for many years. These shoes are just about the best thing I have tried. If I wear these religiously morning to evening and limit any and all barefoot walking, I can settle a flare-up in a few weeks. I keep them next to my bed when I sleep so that I don't re-injure with those first few steps in the morning. Orthaheels rock!

I have these flip flops in three colors -- I love them! Lots of arch support, the contrast between the patent and the rest of the strap is really cute. They'll last for years!

Excellent sandal for arch support! They are stiffer and less padded than other thongs so initially feel different, but they really do support my feet and ankles, and can be worn for long periods of time. I wear mine around the house to help beat foot fatigue.

I have problems with sore feet at the end of the day. I wear these shoes only in the house, and they are on my feet when I wake up in the morning, and back on after work until I go to bed! They feel wonderful.

This is an amazing flipflop. The only other sandal that works for me are Chacos. Only bummer is, I live in snow country and I wont be able to wear either in winter. If you have foot pain, you wont be sorry if you try this shoe! I sure hope they come up with some good winter boots soon!

Love these. I put them on as soon as I got them and, since it's summer, have hardly taken them off. My plantar fasciitis is very happy.

This is the most comfortable and supportive pair of flip flops I have ever had! I have heel pain and with these shoes, my heel pain is minimal to none!

Look good enough I've been complimented on them; feel so good I wear them a lot! With plantar fasciitis I can't wear most flip flops but these have solid, very pronounced and comfortable arch support. They show dust but rinse off and since they're polyurethane they can go places I wouldn't wear suede.

I was a bit skeptical about these shoes, but after wearing them for a few days I noticed an incredible difference. I have problems with my tendon and repeatedly keep injuring it. These shoes helped align my foot and ankle and sped up my recovery. I wear a 7 sneaker and ordered a 7 Orthaheel which had to be exchanged for a 6. The proper size is crucial to keeping the foot in its proper position.

I am in love with these shoes! I suffer from plantar fasciitis. I had no relief from the pain even while sitting. Since getting these shoes I have cut my pain 80%. It took about a day to get use to them. I wear them constantly. I can dress them up or down. I will definitely be investing in more from Orthoheel.

Zappos rocks. This is my second pair. Zappos is always my first choice when looking for shoes.
