Great boots! These are really well made boots from Chippewa; the leather is really thick, and feels soft right out of the box. The insole and vibram sole make them really comfortable for long wear. I've worn mine to work 10 hour days and come home with no aches or pains! I will say they seem a little narrow, I don't normally wear an extra wide shoe or boot, but the width of these was a little snug; they have stretched and become more comfortable after use, but I probably should have bumped up to the EE version.

After 22 years working in a busyness that requires me to be on my feet all day, these are the best work boots I have ever owned. My feet are hard to fit, 13AA, long and narrow. These boots are cut a little narrower and shaped well for a narrow foot. At the same time they offer a comfort that is not often found in work boots. I have been wearing them for almost a year now. Every other boot that I have warn would be close to the end of there life and these are just getting started. I often work long hours on floors made from everything from wood to cement to rock to grass to aluminum, at the end of every day my feet still feel great. Really these boots rock.

Great shoes! The insert is very comfortable for someone who is walking all day. The back lip of the shoe rubbed the back of my leg and was a little uncomfortable at first, but they were broken-in after only a couple of days and don't bother me anymore.

These fit very well straight out of the box, with a nice bouncy sole and good lining inside the boot. They required a slight break-in around the ankle area, which can rub the back of your achilles tendon (this is normal with most boots of this height). They look great - slightly worn look even when brand new.

I really like these boots. Needed steel toe boots for work; I am a project manager. I tried many different pairs, settled on some Wolverines which were very comfortable but made my feet sweat really badly even in the winter, causing a pretty bad smell within a month... and they weren't even insulated! These Chippewa boots have no insulation and though they take a couple weeks to break-in, I look forward to wearing them each day. I think they look good, too; not as generic looking as many others out there, more of a subtle, classic style. Comfort is good, top of right foot rubs on a seam inside the boot sometimes; but other than that, very comfortable, and they stay dry and continue to smell like leather. I would recommend them to almost anyone looking for a long lasting steel toe boot who is on their feet a lot.

A great pair of boots! Fit well, and look better in person than online. Craftmanship is top notch. These boots make a long day working on concrete floors much more comfortable.

These are some solid boots. I am on my feet 12 hours a day working construction, maintenance, and loading trucks, and these things keep my feet comfortable and safe through it all. I have had them a few months now, and they are still in great shape considering what I put them through. I had a pair of Irish setters before these, and while they looked great and were comfortable they began falling apart after three weeks. I was hesitant to spend so much on boots, but it is definitely worth it for these finely made kickers. I normally wear an 11½ and have slightly flat feet. After reading some reviews I went with an 11W and they fit perfectly out of the box. Two downsides: They do not have great traction, and even with a few applications of Snow Seal are not waterproof. Otherwise excellent boots.

As a welder/heavy equipment repairman for the last forty years, I've spent a lot of time in boots, and these are very nice boots. They are well made from good materials, and comfortable right out of the box. I especially like the fact that they are not a patch work quilt of small pieces of leather like so many boots now, some much more expensive than these. The light tread on the soles keeps me from tracking large quantities of mud and dirt into the shop and my vehicles. The inserts are very comfortable, and the boots aren't lined, which I prefer. Even the laces stay tied, while many other synthetic laces are always coming loose. All of this, and they are made in the United States! Amazing! I am very pleased with these boots and recommend them without reservation.

I hate these boots. They squeak/creak when I walk. You can hear me coming down the hallway... Very annoying. They were noisy right out of the box. I thought that it would work itself out once I broke the boots in, but I've worn them for about a month now and they're noisy as ever. They look good though...

Like advised, I ordered half-size smaller (8.5 instead of 9), and am glad I did. Perfect. Feel awesome wearing them.

Boots fit to size. Made of high quality materials. Break-in was very quick (recommend oiling boots once you determine they fit etc. to speed break-in and protect the leather). I spend up to10 hours per day on my feet on concrete, going up and down ladders, and climbing over things. These boots are comfortable, breathable, and very nimble. Far preferable to the monstrously large, clunky safety-toe shoes so common on the market.

Well constructed, good looking boot. A little stiff at first but broke in within a few days. Built on a narrower last so looks sleek for a work boot.

I’ve had a few pairs of steel toed boots before, and figured some discomfort was part of the deal. Not so! I also have some of the best made and most comfortable boots on the planet, costing 3-4 times what these run. These are close, for far less money, and oh yeah, they’ll keep your feet safe if you run a chainsaw into them.

I read that these were considered narrower than normal so I got the wide and honestly I feel the narrow would have fit abosulutely perfect, still even with the wides I can throw on thicker socks and they fit comfortable and they will give room for foot inserts once I wear these out so its kind of win win :) I work traffic control and on my feet anywhere from 6-15 hours a day and I have to say I love these boots! And as always fast shipment with Zappos and great customer service!

Fantastic boots. Needed steel toe for construction sites and was not disappointed with Chippewa. Comfortable right out of the box. A little mink oil darkened the leather a little. Looks great. Squeaked the first two times on my feet and nothing since. Don't let the price scare you. Looks and function all in one package.

These are nice boots! I drive a flatbed truck and need steel toed boots for my job. I treat them terribly and they have held up amazingly well. I tend to crush the lace posts down, but I think that would happen with any boots. These fit me, so I will be ordering another pair in the next few months.

When my workplace mandated steel toe boots, I knew I had to go for something that would be more comfortable and durable than the cheap, ill-fitting boots I was supplied. I made the right choice with Chippewa, a brand I've come to trust mightily over the past few years. It started with a pair of the Katahdin Iron Works Engineer Boots they made in conjunction with LL Bean, then further on with the Homestead boot for lighter, more stylish (though still durable) footwear to kick around the city in the Autumn. These boots required practically zero break-in; I was wearing them out of the box when they arrived at my workplace. I fitted them with an insole (I walk about a mile over the course of a day while at work) and they are more comfortable than any pair of slippers I've ever worn. The leather is extremely supple for easy maneuvering, but has stood the test of the last 5 months of knocking around this warehouse/shipping department. The sole has shown very little wear after wearing these for 40 hours a week for 5 months on concrete floors and docks. For a work boot, they are about as nice as they come. Fashion is not my concern on the job, but my regular "uniform" of cuffed skinny jeans and a black or grey t shirt goes well with these bad boys. Of course, they are completely filthy, but that's what they're meant for. I'm not about to wear these on a date, so I only clean them every couple of weeks or so. Since I've had another Chippewa pair for 4 years this winter, I know these will stand up to whatever I put them through. The listed safety criteria they meet speak for themselves. These are stylish, comfortable, and above all safe and durable steel toe boots that will keep your feet easy and free from the smaller dangers of your workplace. A steal at this cost.

I bought these boots because I needed a steel toe for my workplace activities. I am super pleased! The leather uppers look great, and the sole won't pick up mud when I'm outside. I first ordered the 10.5, but returned it for the 10. I wish it was a bit wider, if so I may be able to use the 9.5. I am still breaking them in by wearing them every other day, but it's going great. They are a bit heavy, but they are a lot of boot. I had some Finnish shoe grease I put on them and they darkened slightly and look even better. These aren't make pretend boots, I highly recommend them!

It's been 3 years since I bought these boots for my hubby, he's an over the road truck driver. He loves these boots! According to my picky husband they aren't slick after he gets diesel on them, they're light for a steel toe which is great for driving, they don't make his feet sweat & they're very comfortable plus they still look great. He has never had a problem with them being noisy. When it is time to retire the pair he has, I'll be ordering these again!

My husband wears these boots every day to work. They are nicely waterproofed and quick to break in while still being sturdy. For only a little more money, we have a good American product that supports American jobs.

I'm an engineer who is on site multiple days a week. Although not a construction worker, these boots replace some well love Timberlands, and they are already worlds better.
Good looking (once the little flag is removed) enough for modern business casual, ultra comfortable once the leather breaks in a bit, and sturdy. Couldn't ask for better in an American-made package.

Buy them, you will be glad that you did! If you can afford it I would buy two pairs one for work and one for casual wear. They are comfortable right out of the box and well constructed. Mine required no break-in period. The outsole and insole provide ample cushion and support. I can be on my feet for over 12 hours and have no foot pain at the end of the day. The only potential flaw that I have noticed is that the softer outsole on this style wears down a bit faster. In my opinion you will not find better made or more comfortable steel toed boots.

I bought these for work due to the fact that I needed a size 14-15 with a steel toe that didn't look terrible (most other options look horrendous). I would imagine these hold up well for daily wear but I use them a few times a week when I need to walk around the plant. They are reasonably comfortable but I think that my foot may be just a little too wide so if you have a wide foot, you may want to swing for the EE. The little flag pin on the front of the laces is a nice touch. 'Merica.
