These are the best boots I have ever owned. They were a little bigger then I expected so you might want to go half or a whole size smaller. I would probably buy a size smaller next time but they feel okay anyhow. The shoe is amazing and it is the only boot that felt good without having to wear in. They don't come waterproof but I bought some nixwax to waterproof them and that has worked great all winter. We have harsh winters in NWPA but these hold up great and my feet never got wet. I hope these last awhile, but whenever they break I am buying them again or resoling.

FANTASTIC! These shoes are by far and away the best steel toed shoes I have ever tried on. Very comfortable right out of the box. They are even comfortable if you out them up against normal shoes. I would recommend them to anyone and if you are always on your feet you can't go wrong.

These boots look and feel great. I've only had them a few days and have walked over 8 miles in them with no issues. For a steel toed boot they are very comfortable and require little break in time. And as always Zappos delivery was very fast.

Needed a pair of steel-toed boots when I started my job at an industrial plant as an engineer, and wished I could just wear my Katahdin Engineer Boots I bought at LL Bean. Turns out, these boots are made by the same company (Chippewa), and are similar in style and comfort. The outside is a little more smoothed off, and there's a little less flexibility, but it's a work boot after all. Would buy again, but they seem like they'll last a long time, so I guess I won't need to.

Won't know for a few months how these work out at the job at the stables with 60 horses, but the steel toe seems substantial and the overall workmanship seems great. And a great look, to boot.

Comfortable, stylish, and American made. First time user of steel toes and I can't complain, I was warned steel toes are usually uncomfortable but I have no idea what they are talking about with these boots.

Great pair of boots & worth the price! I ordered a half size smaller and the widest size offered, I should've gone a full size smaller, my toes come no where near the tip of the boot. At first my heel kept sliding out but after breaking them in and thicker socks that is no longer an issue. The width is a little snug but after being on my feet all day the dogs aren't howling too bad. I love the sole, I get great traction in sand and dirt without the deep crevices of the typical work boot. I can go into the office from the field and not track in half the job site. The quality of materials and construction assures me they'll last for years. Oh, and they look great too.

Review about being squeaky is right, but that goes away. Has to be the most comfortable boot in the price range. If these hold up longer than 6 months, it's bye bye Red Wings.

Really good boots for all day work. Took a week or two to break in, but after that they felt great. The soft sole material keeps you from getting pounded, and the tread doesn't track in much dirt/mud. A couple of things that made these a 4 instead of a 5 for me: The leather stretches much more than I expected - I have fairly narrow feet and after a few months I had to use a thicker insole & "newer" socks to keep the boot snug in the foot. If these feel tight to you at first, you may think of this as a "plus." Also, I wish the top lace point was a hook instead of an eye. While these are my second favorite boots after my Red Wings, they're still really good.

I am a contractor and I wear these boots every day. All in all they are the best lightweight work boot I have owned. My only complaint is that soles wear a little too quickly. I know some of this is do to the way I walk but I have owned other work boots that have had more durable soles. The soles on these are soft and do wear out long before the uppers will.

Normally wear 11. Ordered 10.5 per reviews and that was way too large. Exchanged for 10 and that fit well. However, the size 10 pair squeaked so I returned them. I really liked the look and feel but squeaky boots would drive me crazy

Extremely narrow boots.
Don't order if your feet are even slightly wide.

Very comfortable boot, and fits great. But not durable. I work in a metal shop and these boots look worn as though I've had them a year. In a about a week of wear, both toes have been slashed and shoestring torn. Very soft leather. I love Chippewa but I advise against wearing these nice boots to a worksite they aren't meant for. Can't beat the comfort though. A+

I returned these boots after seeing, "this product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects." I understand that even trace amounts have to be disclosed under CA law and have come across this in the construction industry for years. I get the, "don't worry about it," view. I don't eat the galvanized anchor bolts I handle and I don't eat my boots. But if it is not such a big deal, why won't Chippewa tell me where the chemical is? They have a disclaimer on their website and advise their customers not to eat the boot. Great. Is the chemical in the sole or in the leather upper? If it is in the leather, I sweat all day in my boots and skin can absorb all kinds of chemicals. For peace of mind, I'm going with another brand.
