These flips are all leather -- even the outer sole. They are extremely comfortable and required no "break-in." The inner sole molds to your feet more and more every day you wear them. It is true that the thong seems stiff (and after over a month have not gotten any looser), but I've gotten used to it. I normally wear a 14, but I had to order the 15 in this particular model in order to get the best fit. When talking comfort, it's a close call between the Akua and the Moko. I think the Akua's sole has less spring than the Moko, but the Akua is all-leather and has a pretty stitch-work design on the footbed -- a cut above the rest. Finally, the arch support is moderate -- not quite as high as on the Moko, and far lower than the Ohana, which in my opinion has the best support of any flip-flop on the market.

Beautiful product and brand. One spot on the top of my foot was sore for the first week, but now is broken in and I love them. For me, the sizes ran small and I had to exchange an 11 for a 12. Nice substaintial sole for traction. I am a bit afraid to get the leather wet, but for fancy casual, these are the best.

Expensive but worth it. Everyone else is right. They come small. I'm a 9.5. I bought a 10 and they fit perfect.

Really nice! Highly recommend! They do run small so I would suggest ordering one size larger than normal. I had to return the 12s I got and exchange them for 13s.

Bought these as a Christmas present to myself. The quality is remarkable and this is a sandal that can be worn on a dress up occasion!

Not cheap, but these sandals are actually worth it. They are comfortable, durable, and look great! I live in Florida and wear them year round.

Expensive flops, but worth every penny. I have always had cheaper Reefs that were awesome. These Akua's are made with the best quality materials, design I've ever seen. High quality product; 5 stars all around. Life is short, enjoy your feet.

This is my third pair of OluKai flops, and I will continue to buy more. I have yet to find their equal in comfort, quality and styling.

Great flops! I have not had them long but the most comfortable I've ever worn. My feet said ahhhh and of course props to Zappos as usual for truly great customer service!

The most awesome sandal ever. I can, and do wear these all the time since they arrived. Most thong type sandals take time to break in and feel right. Not these! Even between the toes wear the thong goes. First day felt like day 2000. Great sandal. Expensive but worth every penny. Don't hesitate!

Great pair of sandals. I'm getting married in Maui next month & I'm wearing them with my tux. I plan on bringing a pair of rubber sandals to wear in the elements (sand & water). I have been wearing sandals/flip-flops all my life & if you ever wanted to splurge on a pair of sandals, then these are the Mercedes of sandals.

Great quality as has been the case with most of the OluKai products I have seen. I will start by saying I wear a 13 in regular shoes. I ordered a 14 in some of my other OluKais which fit perfect. But based on a previous review for these I ordered a 15 in this particular model. Thank goodness I did because it would have meant a return if I had ordered 14. So the moral to the story is order 2 sizes larger than you wear in normal shoes. And 1 size larger than other OluKais if you have any other models that fit. Great flip flops. OluKais are the only shoe I wear if I can help it. Comfort on this particular model is yet to be determined but they feel good initially. The thong is a little thicker and dense (hard) than my other pairs so that will take some getting used to.

I'm normally not a sandal person but I have to say that those are very, very comfortable. It took me a while to get used to the strap between my toes, but if you are looking for a nice, comfortable, and good looking sandal… You found it.

Great look and design however, I give 4 stars because of the price point which was a lot. This product does not stand up to this price. I have worn sandals for 20 years. Zappos is great! This product is not worth the money.

I had the Hiapo sandals last year. They were great. Didn't think it was possible for these to be better, but they are. Love them. Make sure to order a size up (I'm usually a 12.5 and went for a 13).

As with any handmade item, sizing is sometimes an issue. This is one of the reasons I shop with Zappos. Today's sandals arrived and they were just about one size too short. Having shopped with Zappos on numerous occasions, I knew that was no problem. The UPS driver just left my home about 15 minutes ago. I already have the return label printed and the grand folks at customer service have my replacement order on the way with the next size up. The sandals were very comfortable and far exceeded my expectations. They just weren't long enough for the "water skis" on the ends of my legs posing as feet. In the unforeseen event that I have a problem with the replacements, I'll repost, but I have full expectations that everything will be well when they arrive. Go ahead, order these Mea Olas. They are even better than described on this site.

Expensive? Yes, But worth it for the fit and quality of the best sandal I've ever owned. this is my fourth pair of OluKai shoes and I can attest that they are better than all any other that I have seen out there; better style, fit, quality & longevity.

I've been buying Olukai sandals for about 6 years. I usually buy 2 or 3 per year. Although I think these are the most beautiful Olukai ever made, they are also the most uncomfortable ever made. The inside of the straps do not have the sown in neoprene like most Olukais and the leather straps are very stiff. I even tried using leather softener to soften them up and no luck. I bought them for my beach wedding in Kauai because they looked nice but my feet were aching within an hour of putting them on and now I'm stuck with them. Also the white Olukai logos rub off way to easy, they don't stay looking nice for long. One drop of water on the logo's and they faded. These are a real disappointment.

These sandals are very attractive. The leather and styling are superb and first rate. I wore them for 5 months and they dry rotted. The leather upper "blew out" and caused me to fall on a board walk at the beach. I really liked the sandals for 5 months but they are no made of sturdy or long lasting materials and the workmanship is not great. These sandals are sort of a high end Italian type sandal in that they look and feel great for a short period of time. They have all the panache and "cool-daddy" appeal for the status conscious crowd. Bottom line -- really attractive sandal. Very comfortable Flip-Flop but the caveat and problem is that they are not durable and if you wear them often and to the beach (they are supposed to be a Hawaii Beach Sandal) then they will dry rot and blow out. If you have the money to spare and want to look really Hip Cattish and "With-It" in public for the world to see -- then enjoy them for a few months until they blow out. If you wear them once or twice a week out to lunch, dinner or to a movie, then they will probably last for a while. But, if you plan to wear them 4 or 5 days a week and to the beach and in wet weather -- then they will fall apart. Olukai needs to bring the manufacturing back to Hawaii and use stronger and more durable leather and thread to sew the sandals.

Although obviously a pricey sandal, I am quite satisfied with this product. Great quality construction and craftsmanship. I ordered these sandals online and had them at my door in like 36 hours with no shipping costs. Very impressive! Would definitely order from this company again and definitely would use Zappos!
