Normally Keen boots are wide enough for me, but these are narrower than normal.

Had my first pair of Keen's with their Omaha Mid's, and they were awesome. Went with these based off my experience with the other pair and unfortunately these are different. the way the shoe lace is designed with the heel strap that wraps around the back end of the shoe actually digs into my heel at some points. These shoes also don't breathe well at all. Everyday after work my feet feel soaked when i take my shoes off because they sweat so much in them. I've only had these shoes for about 2 months, and they already smell like 2 year old gym shoes.. Overall it's a good shoe, and they feel comfortable to walk in aside from the heel strap digging into my foot and not breathing well. But I definitely would be thinking twice about my next pair of Keen's. Overall the lack of breathable fabric is the killer for me.

The size was a half size large... already sized them a half size smaller at purchase than comparable brands. Need to try the next half size down to give a more accurate review.

Purchased these for my husband who is on his feet 8 hours a day doing metal fabrication. He loved these boots. However after 8 months of use the rubber came apart from the material. He said they were the most comfortable boots he had ever worn. He truly wanted to exchange them for an identical pair, but alas did not have his size. He was thinking it was a factory defect. He ended up ordering Timberland steel toed boots instead. Thank you Zappos for your kind customer service!

I love the design and everything about it. Too bad both shoes rub both the inside of my heels significantly enough that I returned them.

My husband works in a dairy and requires safety toe boots with a non-slip sole that are also waterproof. These boots fit every requirement. They are attractive for a work boot and required no breaking in. They were a perfect boot until the sole started separating from the boot on both boots within 6 months of wear. To put things into context, he has been wearing work boots everyday for 15 years and never had a pair fail this quickly. Keen stands behind their products and allowed him to choose a replacement pair since their boots are warrantied for a year. He chose a different style as his replacement, a style with a welted sole.

It's a very ridged boot. If you like to lace it all the way up, it hurts your ankle because it doesn't flex. The bottom of the boot has a nice curve to compensate for lack of flex. However, the padding inside is almost non-existant. I like a quick draw strings like I have in my military boots. These laces get hung up in the plastic eyelets and hooks. I wore them for one day and the plastic rivet that holds the hook in place popped out. I don't know how this boot gets four stars

The boots fit well out of the box. The sole, like Timberlands, wears rather quickly. The leather finally tore after 10 months so the boots need replacement. I am a lineman for Dominion Power. I have yet to find a boot that lasts more than a year and at 145 lbs, I can't be but so tough on a pair of boots but they are in the elements and the boots work an average of 56 hour week. At the cost, these boots are over priced so I will try, yet, another brand...

I bought my first pair of these from Zappos a little over a year ago. Zappos was great and allowed me to switch out quite easily as the first pair I received were a little large. These are good looking boots, and if you didn't know, you might not realize they are a safety boot at all. I first wore them while doing biological surveys on a proposed mining site, hiking about fifty miles on rugged terrain. The boots were great with no break-in, and extremely comfortable. Downside was they are hot and are not nearly as breathable as any of my other Goretex-lined boots by other makers - which after several days of summer hiking adds up to a wet, sweaty, stinky boot. Also, the soles are not at all durable. Rocky surfaces on the proposed mine site sliced and diced the soles, with flaps of rubber on the outsides and toes. The soles, even accounting for their initial rough treatment, wore more than I might have expected, with the rubber heel finally falling off as a unit on one boot last week. The uppers are in good shape, though the water-proofing has degraded a bit on the right big toe area. Needing a replacement for the next day, I again purchased a pair of these locally, hoping again that no break-in would be required. This was again my experience, though the fit of the new pair is different, a little tighter than the previous pair up front. They have done well in the past week of use, even with some rocky talus and dense bushwacking, but again, are a hot boot for summer work.

I like Keen products and have had several shoes made by Keen and love them. This pair of boots wore a blister on my left heel. Not sure if it was my foot or the boot causing the problem. I am farmer and count on my shoes to get me through the day. I do not want to discourage and one from ordering the boots. I am going to continue to buy Keen shoes in the future. Zappos has provided me top notch customer service related to the issues I had with these shoes!

I have benn buying these same shoes forcwuite a few years. I like the style and the comfort, there have been a couple times where quality control has been an issue and the shoe has come apart and this time right out of the box a collapsed toe inside another quality control issue, so they were sent back. Another highly concerning issue is how much the price has increased. Who’s going to buy your shoe when no one can afford them???

Poor Quality Control. The inside top of the toe of the boot was not glued to the top of the steel toe. I put them on for the first time and immediately felt something wasn’t right. For a $200 boot I would expect better quality control, like maybe stick your hand down into it first before you sell it to someone.

Boots only lasted 7 months. Sole is falling apart. Causing it not to be waterproof.

I have been having trouble finding boots that are both comfortable and durable. These are some of the most comfortable work boots I have worn yet. My one complaint is they are not durable at all. After only a few months I am quickly losing tread on the bottom. The sole is separating and the leather is the most easily damaged leather I've seen on a pair of boots. I wouldn't recommend them if you have to do heavy duty outside work, like that of a field worker or rigger, but these are probably better suited for indoor shop work. I'll wear them until they wear out but I doubt I'll get as much use out of them as other boots I've owned.

"Very nice looking boot both in construction and style. Came with a spare set of laces, bonus! Felt comfortable until laced tight. There is no padding in the ankle which was very painful on my ankles when I would step." Same issue as this reviewer. I'm a skinny guy, no fat to pad my ankles.

These boots came highly recommended from my fellow employees so I thought I would give them a shot. After ordering a pair, I worked about two shifts before I discovered a hole where the sole had pulled away from the boot, thus letting water in my shoe (on a cold and snowy Nebraska day, of course). I contacted Zappos and they quickly processed a return and shipped me a different pair of the same boot. After less than two months of wear, I have snapped one shoelace (contacted Keen and they are weeks away from having more laces to ship out) and found another hole in the toe of this pair of boots. Not real happy with the construction of a pair of boots at this price so I think I will avoid these in the future. Always happy with Zappos customer service, though!

I used these boots daily as a field service technician for one year now. The boots are comfortable but they do not last long. The glue does not hold the rubber to the leather well. The uppers are great and they provide five star comfort. They need better construction.

I bought these to try something different. I am a garbage man and go through boots quite often. These were no exception. The tread is tearing in a number of places. I tried the Keen Tacoma this is a tough boot! I stand, run and move constantly. These seemed like a good alternative to red wing. I was wrong. But you never know until you try.

I have worn these particular boots for the past two years as an industrial mechanic in pretty severe conditions. They are extremely comfortable and function very well. One reason I found these boots is because I have one foot that is 11½ and one that is 10½ and the increase in size at the steel toe area. My only complaints are that the sole wears out far too quickly and the leather around the toe area wears out. As far a wear goes Wolverines and Red Wings last much longer. Keen needs to provide a longer lasting sole material.

I ordered a pair of these in a size 11.5 Wide. Got a pair that was the wrong size and contacted customer service. They issued a return label and we’re supposed to send the correct size in exchange. Two days later I received the same exact size after speaking with them in regards to the initial error they’d made by sending the wrong size. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCIA!!!!

If you work in construction do NOT buy these boots. Have only had them for 4 months and the tongue, laces, and stitching have completely fallen apart. The sole is also starting to come off around the outside of the boot. Will be needing to buy new boots very soon.
