The shoes looked great, and I really liked the style. However, I believe the right shoe was defective. It rubbed and pinched my Achilles tendon so hard that I had to return it. I usually order directly from Dunham, but there appeared to be a better selection at Zappos. After more than a decade, this is my first issue with a Dunham shoe.

I bought these for my husband. Twice. Fit and size were good. HOWEVER, the shoes were a pebbled leather (which was not even an option to be ordered in this model), and not the polished leather that was ordered and shown. (Again, twice.) He decided to keep one of the pair because of the fit and support, but he REALLY wanted the polished leather. This was not the fault of Zappos, as the box (both times) was clearly labeled as "polished leather". I give Zappos 10/10 for customer support, but give Dunham a much lower score for whatever it is that is going on at their end.

Usually, an 8D fits comfortably. If sizes were 8D Large, 8D Medium, 8D Small, this is an 8D Small. Shorter and narrower than most of the 8D size by other makers that I have worn.

In my opinion, they changed a stellar product and cheapen it. The new leather seems cheaper and the sizing is not true. I have a narrow foot; sizing is one of the main reasons I have bought multiple pairs of this style, looks like I need to start on a new hunt. It’s a shame!

Nice looking shoes but not true to size. Too wide and slipped on left heel

Shoes felt wider than advertised, in fact too wide. I am a B width, so I looked to see if they were a B width and they were.

Well, the shoes...we didn't like. However Zappos...we loved...return service is wonderfully easy and straightforward. And we will definitely keep looking here to find a product we do like. We have a hard to find shoe size in our family and it is wonderful to find a site that is reliable and easy to use. thanks, highly recommended to others.

I have had three pairs of Dunham Midlands before this order, and they always fit well, but the shoes I just ordered were uncomfortable and slipped on my heel. The shoes are stiffer than they used to be, and the heel is wider. Apparently, Dunham is using a different last, and probably a different manufacturer. Shame.

Great looking, well constructed shoe but runs very wide. A 2E is like a normal 4E. too bad Dunham doesn't make an E width.

The shoes appear to be mismatched. The top of one shoe is "wrinkled", the other smooth. Scar very easily. My first Zappo purchase. Unsure about future purchases.

I Ordered 9-4E shoes and found them to be too narrow, in addition the left shoe is smaller than the right! The style is good and the material appears to be top rate so I am returning the shoes and will order 9-6E as soon as they are available I have been wearing Rockport shoes for years but the newer shoes do not seem to be made as correctly as the earlier versions of the same shoe so I decided to try another brand.

Shoe is comfortable but does not last. Ive had several pairs of these over the years. My current pair barely a year old now has the sole detaching. The tread has good wet traction but wears to quickly so much so that the treat is worn down from just basic offive wear and in town walking. These should last more then a year. Two would be nice.

Nice style with nubuck. Unfortunately not a good fit for me.

Like the shoe, need to get the proper fit

It was nice to find a place that sold narrow shoes for men. I needed a black oxford for work and purchased the Dunham Midland Oxford in black. The shoe fits well as is comfortable, except for the height of the shoe at the ankle. I developed a blister on my ankle after wearing them for a week. Because of my size and occupation, that has me on my feet on a hard floor all shift, I've found that the thin sole made from injected materials has a waffled texture you can feel while standing on your feet. The thin in-sole of the shoe doesn't adequately support the sole of my foot. I chose to use inserts for the shoes and they are a little more adequate with the sole inserts...no more blisters on the ankle. I won't buy these shoes for the price they were, again.

Look good and comfortable enough. However, after less than a week the left shoe started to creak loudly. Sounds like a duck is following you around and made my cats run away and hide. Zappos was nice enough to take them back.

I was looking for a rugged, comfortable shoe for walking on the rough streets and countryside of Italy. I ordered these because I have a pair of Dunham boots that are good and comfortable for my large, wide foot. I wore these twice here in the states prior to the trip and they felt comfortable enough, so I packed them up for my trip. The first morning I go to put them own in Italy, as I was snugging up the laces, the leather holding an eyelet on each shoe just broke, thus freeing the eyelet from its proper place and making them difficult to lace properly. I wasn't happy! And it's not that I snug my shoes that tight -- I have never had this happen before. Since it happened on the same eyelet on both shoes, I have to assume it is poor design, material, or workmanship. I would not recommend these shoes based on my experience. But of course, Zappos refunded my purchase price, which helps, but I was one pair of shoes short, overseas for two weeks. In short -- Zappos is good, but these shoes aren't.
