My 8 year old loves these Converse. This is his second pair. His favorite part is that he doesn't have to tie them and can just slip them on. I usually get half a size down from his normal size because they run a little big. Only negative about these is that they don't last long. After a couple months they looked pretty ragged, but my kid is hard on his shoes.

This shoe is comfy and true to converse size. However, you should know that the back of the shoe comes up very high and digs into your achilles tendon. Sad to return.

Nice looking shoe and well made. My only complaint is, my daughter has a pretty difficult time getting these shoes on. She has a pretty narrow foot too, so not sure why these "slip ons" aren't so easy to slip on...other than that, they look great and seem to run a little big, as with all Chuck Taylor's.

Love All-Stars! Always have, the only problem with these is that the laces are a tad too long. They tend to fold under the sole and get stepped on and for this reason my son doesn't like to wear them. We tried to adjust them by using the final loop but then it makes the shoes to difficult to slip on.

They aren't my favaorite, I wish the black canvas was "blacker". But overall I like them because they aren't big & bulky like a lot of sneakers.

I have three boys, and they wore these in a wedding last year - with the tuxes, instead of the stiff rental shoes. I have since bought bigger sizes as they outgrow, because they make cute and easy dress shoes. We take the laces out because otherwise they are a distraction. They run at least a half size big, so I would order a few pair and send back what doesn't work.

Purchased these shoes for my daughter as a part of her uniform she has to wear to school everyday. She likes the shoes, but they do run big.... maybe a whole size bigger. Received them in the mail in less than a weeks time. I would purchase them again. Very pleased.

Primarily slip-ons, with elastic laces that are not long enough to tie. Felt at least one full size longer than marked, and like most Converse shoes, run narrow. Compared to the classic converse, these have much more padding in the ankle area, which is nice.

Love these shoes, but they are at least a full size larger than normal, possibly 1.5 sizes. I should have ordered a range, as a previous reviewer did, but it shouldn't be too much to ask that shoe companies use a standard sizing system.

Both of my kids thought they hurt their feet never wore them for that reason!

WAY TOO BIG! MISSIZED! My 9 year old wears a size 7 in Nike/Under Armour, ordered him a size 6 in these and they were absolutely massive - like 3 sizes too big! Returning, don't feel like playing the guessing game, we won't be re-ordering. Shame, they are cute shoes and they wanted them...

So this is the 3rd pair I am returning. I ordered my standard adult converse and they were huge ... so I called to exchange and was sold the youth in size 6 which was supposed to be the adult size 6 ... HUGE so i research and order a youth 4 which would be adult 6 ... way too big. I mailed both of the orders back immediately and they have no tracking info which makes me paranoid. I wish you could exchange on line and I wish the kind woman at CS did NOT send me youth 6 ... so the youth 4 are going back and I will have to get my chucks at a store since I have been a standard 3.5 for ... 25 years.

They are very cute. But the back of the show is too rough on the skin of my six years old. Specifically the top “pokes” Achilles’ tendon.

The new converse are more bulky looking. Exchanged for the classic converse!

Not great changes to the Converse. My daughter wears her Converses to school, and she was not excited about the thicker sole and "weird lines" on the tongue of this year's model. They look fine to me, but the shoelaces are way to short. She has to tie her shoes at school, and it is impossible to tie these shoes with the included laces. They are way to short, and her feet are super narrow. We don't have time to return these, so we will be buying longer laces, but I would shop around for a different model if I had more time.

Laces drag on the floor. In photo the no-tie knotted laces look cool (and my son wanted to just be able to slip his foot in). But in reality the laces are 2"+ longer and so they're always dragging on the floor. Bummer 'cause we like the look. Can't cut laces shorter because then the plastic thin at the end of laces won't be there.

This is a fantastic looking shoe, and looks great with everything from shorts, jeans, and even a dress shirt and tie. That being said, my 5 year old doesn't like to wear it as much as his regular tennis shoes. Why? They are very heavy compared to his tennis shoes, and they slip out of his feet occasionally due to them not having a way to tighten them and also being heavy.

These shoes were so cute and I wanted them to work out but I had to return. I read another review that said they were easy to get on though we experienced the opposite; they were very difficult even with me helping my child put them on. Function out ruled style here. We've had several original Chucks and special ones and I've found that sticking to the originals is best.

My daughter is 10 and has averaged easily 4 pair of Converse per year since she was 3. Being around 30 pair of various Converse styles, we know our Chucks! I ordered this pair looking for the straight up classic blacks. As they're called "Street Ox," that's what I thought we were getting. These are not classic Chucks. This pair is definitely more for little ones - especially around the ankle. It's hard to see in the pictures, but it has significant padding in this area, which gives the whole profile of the shoe a rounded, little kid look. This shoe is not the urban street style I was expecting. Definitely more of a toddler starter pair.

Did not catch that this was a slip on. Kind of fun except leaves it always looking untied. Also rather too heavy and clunky for my 12 year old.

My son could not get his foot in. We ordered the same size in a different style and they fit fine. Please read very small and are not very tall for foot thickness from bottom to top.

Love these shoes but they run HUGE. Ordered a 3.5 for my child but they were so big I tried them on myself. I wear a 6 womens and they fit me so well I almost thought about keeping them!

I forgot that Chuck Taylors tend to run large, so the pair I ordered is too big for my kiddo's feet. Also, the laces must be decorative - they're too short to fully lace and tie the shoes. We'll be returning these.

We struggled to get these on my 4 year old's feet. He has average width size 11 feet, and even the size 12 shoes wouldn't go on. They're so cute, but they had to go back.

I bought these for my daughter and they are much heavier than the usual converse sneaker and she said they were uncomfortable.
