Customer Reviews New Balance WW577 Hook and Loop

These shoes were for my sister suffering from RA. Her hands and feet are severely deformed due to the RA. She needs a very deep tie box and these New Balance weren't quite deep enough. The Hook & Loop design is perfect but again my sister has very special needs and her issues in footwear are unique. She may try mens sizing.

I didn't wear them after trying them on. One shoe felt fine; the other was a little narrower. The "sides" of the shoe were too high and rested just under my ankle bone making the shoe uncomfortable to wear.

Good shoe except for one loop will not stay hooked.

Right heel kept slipping off.

Size and width was great. I use a special arch support, and there was room for that. The only negative was the squeaking when walking. People can hear you coming from the next room.

Excellent fit and stylish

This was close, but no cigar. I have a long, narrow foot-11-N in athletic shoes and this was just a tad short on me. The width wasn't bad, but I was going to use this right after knee replacement and thought the velcro was a great feature, but it was just a tad too short and wide for my difficult foot. I'm sure this would work for a person with fewer foot problems, but I needed a tighter fit due to arch support issues ( my own).

Mom said they hurt her feet after she said she liked them. What can I expect foe a 92 year old! She wore them for 15 minutes for physical therapy on a carpeted surface.

Material was more like plastic. The top of the foot chafed where the instep was. There were internal parts near the top ball of the foot that rubbed. Overall did not breathe as I thought it would. Overall very uncomfortable.

I bought the shoes because my current pair don't close so that the Velcro strap goes completely across the top of the shoe. I increased my size and width, but neither helped.

For nearly a decade have worn these shoes from New Balance no problems. I believe NB changed the last and quality. previously was DSL-2. Now can only find SL-1 and these are SL-2. Just not fitting the same. Also Velcro not sticking on any of shoes purchased. Something is different so disappointing

Overall this is a good shoe, sturdy. However, the top where you Velcro is stiff and was hard at first to get the tab to all the way Velcro. Left side still has a gap from tab to edge, allowing it to catch on things/things catch on it. Comfort is 4.5 as this caused the shoe to be loose.

The fit is great on the NB 577 H&L. However, I previously wore the 813 which have better cushioning and the tongue is softer, less stiff. I tried the 577 as the 813 has not been available in with H&L. The 577 will do, but I would prefer the 813 be available.

Tongues too thick and straps couldn't close.

Comfortable from day one - no break-in period. Have been wearing this model for 10+ years. Roomy toe box means no corns on my toes. They wear like iron and the Velcro closure doesn’t wear out before the shoe wears out. Did I mention how comfortable they are? Thank you Zappos for carrying my size!

Absolutely perfect size and style.

The upper Velcro band is too short and too high on the tongue, which makes it cut into my ankle.
