Customer Reviews New Balance WW577 Hook and Loop

I've been buying this New Balance model for years. This year they made some changes - narrower velcro straps, thicker tongue. The shoe feels a little less sturdy, doesn't fit quite as well. It's still the best out there for my needs (must insert orthotic for very high arch). I just wish NB hadn't downgraded the quality.

These are very comfortable shoe and they are sharp looking. The only think wrong was the strap was to short. The size was right.

The shoes were okay, but I have MS and the foot drop. So I need a lot of support.

Good fit, but I really needed more arch in the sole. It would be great if they would improve on that.

This is a good-looking shoe but I'm going to have to wear them awhile to "break them in" (and I haven't had to do that with sneakers/athletic shoes before. Tight across top of foot even though size is my usual for all types of shoes (7 1/2 M). Biggest drawback is that the hook and loop strap does NOT extend/fold fully across itselffor both both hook and loop to line up. See self-explanatory images for the result. Decidedly NOT an attractive look. Perhaps it is just the shape of my particular feet. I'll keep the pair but will not use them as my primary go-to pair of sneakers, just as a backup when wearing jeans that come down over the foot. Overall when it comes to Zappos.com, I think it's a great place to buy shoes -- plenty of selection, reasonable prices -- and I really appreciate that returns are free. The return policy is a real incentive to shop Zappos.

I appreciated the opportunity to try these. I liked how they looked in photos and though having velcro straps instead of laces would be more comfortable. I always wear new Balance, but these didn't have the forefoot control and support of my other walking shoes. They looked very orthotic with the rounded toe, and while well cushioned, they rubbed against my ankles. The leather was nice and they look well made, I think it's a question of what fits your foot.

I really can't give a correct review, because I had foot surgery on both feet and the swelling hasn't gone down 100%. I couldn't even get my toes in the left foot. Perhaps a mesh athletic shoe would be better for me.

What little I have worn it around the house, it looks like it will be a good fit.

They are true to size....fit perfectly and are great for my walks.

Amazing love the Velcro!! It’s Fast and Easy to get in and out of the shoe. Great getting a break from show laces. The Velcro allows room if you want it tighter or looser. Comfortable Love the White New Balance I got a half Size up for comfort It was a great call. Delivery was quick Thank you so much New Balance will be back again By the way I try other sneakers but I always come back to New Balance. My ankle doesn’t hurt. I have flat feet and it’s just made perfectly

These shoes are my "Sunday shoes". I've tried them on & seemed to fit ok; however, haven't actually worn them for any period of time, but I'm confident they will be ok. These are about my 5th or 6th pair of these shoes. I used to have to order 2 different sizes because I wore an orthotic on my left foot. Don't wear it anymore so got 1 pair of 1 size--much cheaper.

My feet are purring!

Bought for my mother in law, who has only worn slippers for almost a year now. Her feet have swollen but she needs something to get around when it turns into winter. Bought half size longer than her feet and as wide as we could get. She thought they felt very heavy but worked perfectly for what we needed.

Fit & size was perfect. Very comfortable. This pair replaces a pair I had for a number of years. So happy to be able to get a WW width. You can always count on Zappos to fill your order promptly.

Clunky and heavy but I love them. An easy on off shoe plus its adjustable. Fantastic arch support. I have been wearing this style for many years. They are like an old tshirt, I cannot bring myself to throw them out even when they are way past their prime. They get more and more comfortable as the time goes by.

As walking shoes, these are very comfortable though rather unattractive. At my age comfort trumps style.

I have a lot of problems with my feet, high arch that is falling, my orthotics fit in these real well. Also I have wide feet size 8. These shoes are true to size for me. The width I got in wide are perfect. I like the velcro, as my feet swell a little by the afternoon at work. The velcro is easy to loosen them up. Seem to be made well too. I've been wearing this type NB for the last 6 weeks still feel good on my feet. I also liked the 574 in leather, but can't find it.

Bought these to start my walking excerise. I'm 60 and it time to get out there and do it! Very comfortable and perfect fit!

The fit is good enough for me to now have a pair of shoes that I can wear outdoors in the winter weather. I feel that I will never get a shoe wide enough or with an adequately deep toe. So I am satisfied with this shoe because it fits over my overlapping toe on left foot, but the shoe rubs that toe slightly after 2 hours of wearing. I am very satisfied with Zappos' quality, great range of styles and sizes. I was initially drawn to your website because of your free shipping and free return policy. I am 73 years old and immune compromised, so I don't go into retail stores. Being able to shop online, try on the shoes at home then either keep, or return at no cost. I'm sure this is not the first pair of shoes that I'll purchase!

It was tight because I wear an AFO for a Foot Drop. The Propet version fits better but was more expensive. It will do until I’m ready to buy another shoe.
