Based on the reviews, I ordered my normal size, but when they arrived today, the shoe fit very tight in the length and width. I've NEVER had problems with a medium width but this shoe definitely runs narrow. Also, I got free shipping when I ordered the first time; but now when ordering a replacement, I find I now get to pay shipping. What's with that? I tried to call customer service and never had the option of talking to a live person, and I wasn't given the option of waiting. On a scale from 1 - 10, customer service gets a 1. The shoe is attractive so I'm ordering a second, larger pair.

I am on my feet all day and expected these to be more comfortable. I had to buy a foam insert for them. After putting in I was able to wear the shoes.

I have been wearing this product around the house to break them in. Unlike my other pair the tongue on these seems to be very long for my foot and presses on my instep. I am hoping as they break in they will soften enough to be comfortable.

I read the comments and followed the recommendations that i go up half a size. The result was that i was wearing a boat, not a shoe. I don't know if my ususal size would have worked as i only ordered up. I would suggest you purchase both your regular size and a half size up if in question.

I ordered a 9W, and while this shoe fits and is lightweight, I gave it 3 stars because only the right shoe is comfortable. Both shoes have a seam on the inside of the upper that runs down to the arch; however, in the left shoe, this seam creates a large bump just above the sole that presses uncomfortably on the back of my arch where it comes down to join the front of my heel pad. The right shoe has a similar bump, but it is much smaller. I will decide this afternoon whether to exchange them for another pair - hoping to get both of them without the large bump - or just get a refund.

The shoe fits well and has good arch support, but it's very stiff fitting. The material is not very flexible.

The sneaker was uncomfortable across the upper part of my foot. The material was too stiff and seem to cut into my foot.

I usually wear a regular size in width for a shoe but when I ordered the normal it was very tight and had to change them for a wides. I get Velcro straps because of back problems it is difficult for me to tie sneakers. The straps on the wide barely reach, not long enough. I will make due because I don't want another return but don't think I would buy more of them because of this.

I had to return the shoes as the were to small and I had reservations on the style once I saw them. I was measured in a shoe store as a size 5- med. so that what I ordered, but they were not close to fitting me. I have decided to go to the store let them measure me and order through them rather than order through you and have to send them back. I figure I have a better chance at getting it right the first time. My Husband has worn New Balance for years and is well satisfied, this would have been my first try for your shoes. The rating is based on the fact that my measured size and the shoe size was so far off ???

Although I ordered wide and the shoe fit beautifully, the Velcro closure strap was too short for my foot. At my age, sometimes my feet swell and I wish the Velcro strap was a bit longer. I had to send the shoes back.

I always order athletic shoes one half size larger than dress or casual shoes, so the shoes felt true to size by this standard. The shoes were comfortable, even with my bunions. They have good arch support, and are a good shoe overall. The shoe has a large tongue, which rubbed my ankle, which is the reason I am returning them.

These are so un-cushioned that I couldn't even make it out the door with them on. I've been having foot problems for a few months and it was painful standing in front of the sink and simply brushing my teeth with these on, and that was with ibuprofen running through my system! I don't know how they're possibly approved for diabetics...do they not have any feeling in their feet?

Great fit for my feet (altho the 576 was slightly better in the toebox - this one has felt a bit narrower) but they only last 3 months for me before the cushion wears out and I have to replace them.

They are great shoes for support and comfort. I have a pair I've worn for over five years; still good but soiled. I wanted them in white but my daughter said they looked like clown shoes on my feet. Sent back.

I bought this product because I will be having bilateral knee surgery soon. I think the New Balance quality has deteriorated. There is not really sufficient room in the toe. The velcro closure does not cover itself when closed over so looks cheap and sloppy. Before this purchase I bought a lace-up pair of their sneakers instore; cost was twice as much and very uncomfortable. Assembled in the USA does not mean Made in the USA.

Very wide through the toe area. Also very long in the toe area. Will try ordering smaller size.

The 577 (and earlier, similar NB models) has been my go-to shoe for years; I've always especially appreciated the roomy toe-box. As my feet get older and crankier, though, this model is sadly no longer comfortable. The insole feels hard, the sides stiff, and the toe-grips molded into the insole are painful rather than helpful. I've switched to a FuelCore Nergize model that cushions and accommodates my cranky feet in the ways they now demand. The 577 remains, in my opinion, a good shoe for active, hardy walkers.

Thought I needed wide sneakers but thankfully, I didn't. Did not like the look of this shoe...for box was too round and wide.

Every pair of this style shoe I have purchased in the last few years has had the strap too short. I just purchased a new pair in a 2E hoping that they would be better. But of course they were not longer or better. I have a wide foot and it is very hard to get the strap to stay on the valcro.

Good shoe for a great price. I ordered the extra wide because I have flat feet with bunions. Unfortunately I had to send them back because they were too narrow in the toe box. I am all done buying shoes and keeping them in the hopes they will stretch and feel better. That is the great part about Zappo's.

the tongue is shorter than the holes for the laces on this walking shoe. .if one uses all the lace holes, then the tied laces will rub against the ankle and not rest on the tongue. I sent photos and asked why. Customer Service declined to anwser my question or respond to the photo. (I was offeref a free return.) The shoe is a bit bulky but I am guessing that if I didn't need to lease it up completely, it would serve it's purpose. However I have a really narrow foot and so I do need that extra tightness around my ankle. Can't figure out how to lace it will so it will be snug but not rub against my ankle.
