Shoes has no comfortable inside support and were very "flat" on the floor. Felt strange.

For NB, the toe box seemed too narrow and stiff. Very surprised.

Fit was good but the shoe was stiff and not comfortable. Quality seemed good. Just not the right shoe for me.

I ordered a pair of Velcro close walking shoes for my mom. Normally, she loves these shoes. Let me say before I continue that my mom is 97 years old. After 2 weeks, ( she had worn them twice) she told me they hurt her one foot. Inside the shoe, where the sole meets the upper portion was a rough spot. It was too late to return them, so I went to a repair shop and they just shook their head and said there was nothing they could do. So we have a brand new pair of NB shoes that she can't wear. It's a manufacturing defect so slight, but make the shoe unwearable. I'm sure it's a one in a million issue but buyer beware. Check the shoes inside and out!

Shoes don't seem true to size ordered extra wide and they fit like a regular width. Will not purchase again.

This shoe is soft but sometimes squeaks. I would have kept them anyway for the comfort but they were too small. They did not appear to be well made considering they were New Balance. But I kept trying to order them in different sizes because of the softness.

Good looking shoe. Fit is good but I change sole and insert my orthodics--that was good. I tried wearing several different times always in the house. My big-big-big problem is they constantly squeak (a squeak like nails on the chalkboard). I am returning to Zappos and going to try another shoe.

These shoes were a nice fit but the inside edge of the tongue was obtrusive rather than laying flat, and it hurt my feet.

My husband bought these because the mesh NB shoes get holes in the toes too quickly. The 577 is supposedly leather, although the shoe is not marked with the materials and neither is the box marked with the materials. The shoe is also NOT made in the USA. The tongue of the shoe ways it is made in Vietnam. The shoe also makes farting squeaking noises when he walks.

I like this style but these shoes were stiff and difficult to get in. Also clunky.

This is what happens when you order shoes online. I have had New Balance shoes for years and tried to go to a less expensive pair but there is not enough cushioning around the upper edge, they are heavy and stiff and the collar near the tongue rubs on my ankle. Also, I would prefer a thicker, softer inner sole.

I couldn't wear these shoes because I wear foot braces and the closures were too short to close properly.

New Balance was always a shoe I could order and it would fit, it was comfortable and lasted awhile. This pair was non of those things. There was absolutely NO cushion in the foot. It was like walking on concrete. I have short legs and ankles that tend to swell a bit and the tongue dug in so bad I couldn't wear them more that half an hour before I had to take them off, packe them up and send them back. Guess I will have to rethink New Balance

I ordered a half size larger and they worked fine. The w width was ok. The support lacked a lot. After 3 hours the ball of my foot had severe pain. Tried again had heel and foot pain. No way can I tolerate these shoes.

The suggestion to order a half size up is true. However, I returned them as I felt the heel was too high for my foot. It hit at a place that rubbed. I have used the 411 for the past 10 years, always reordering when they wore out, but they were not available so I ordered these. Sorry they didn’t work out.

I normally wear a 9 wide in New Balance shoes - this pair felt at least a half size too small. Returning to try both a 9 1/2 and a 10.

They have great arch support but the tongue and straps of the shoes are inflexible and painfully restrict the top of my foot, even when fastened loosely. The depth runs small even while the length runs large.

I have a wide foot (EE) with a high arch and narrow heels, and finding shoes to fit is always a challenge (especially when manufacturers keep 'upgrading' styles).
This shoe is a great fit - the toe box is wide and deep enough that my toes aren't squished together. There's room for orthotics and I really like the extra lacing holes that allow me to get a snug fit at the heel. There's not much arch support for me (high arch, remember) but it might work for someone who needs moderate support. They're not the most attractive shoe, but at this point in my life, I choose comfort over looks (although, really, how hard is it to make wider shoes in the same fun colors as standard widths???). My problem is with the tongue of the shoe when it's on and tied - the edges are thick and stiff and dig into my ankles. After just a few minutes of wearing around the house, I have very sore, very red marks on my ankles. I really wanted to like this shoe - it's the best fit I've found in a long time - but I won't be able to wear them long enough for the tongues to break in and soften up.

The Women's Hook and Loop 577 felt perfectly comfortable as soon as I put them on. The problem is that the Velcro is way too short, which makes them come unhooked and makes the shoes look ugly. You should sell Velcro strap extenders, which I can't find anywhere for sneakers. Also, I have to say that the plain colors make the shoes look like Old Lady Shoes. Design some hook and loop shoes that look good.

There was so much padding in these sneakers that it was really too much. They looked big on my feet.
