I really wanted to love these shoes. They're well-made and very comfortable for walking or standing. But I never end up wearing them. Why? Total lack of style. The toe box is huge, and makes my size 10.5 feet look even bigger than they are. They are also clunky and heavy, not a good choice to take on vacation. New Balance makes a good product but I wanted a walking shoe with comfort and an attractive look, and this isn't it.

When I was looking for a good 'walking' shoes (at my local store), this 577 was my second choice. Ultimately I chose 840v2 for walking purpose because they fit better for me -roomier toe box, more stability due to wider outer sole, etc- BUT this 577 was close second. 577 fit more snug and somewhat feels less bulkier than 840v2. So I bought these for everyday errand shoes. A little bit too high on the side and dig into my ankle bone -my R foot is fine but L foot is a tad smaller than R so maybe one size down would make a difference but then my R foot would be too tight- I don't have this issue with 840v2- probably it will go away as I keep wearing. I've only wore these for a couple of hours at this point. Anyway, this is also a well made shoes and great from the price point.

I love this sneaker and in general I dislike sneakers....most are so ugly!! I just bought my second pair for the gym and was so glad the style is still available. My first pair is a work shoe and I'm walking a 12 hour shift in them with no foot tiredness at all.

These New Balance shoes are a delight because I work on my feet and they provide very good support for my toes and arches. They fit wonderfully and don't make it feel like I'm standing on direct concrete or the floor. Heel is nice and thick and that's what you need when you work outside or on your feet all day. I'm very pleased!

First I really like the convenience of shopping Zappos. They are great to shop with and are most helpful and know their merchandise. The NB sneakers are extremely comfortable and seem to be true to size. I am very hard to fit and these are great. Thanks to you Zappos.

I have a men's size A width shoe size. The only way I can wear tennis shoes is to by a women's size 12. This shoe works great.

I love these sneakers/shoes. I've suffered from plantar fasciitis for 2 years and these have been the best sneaker for me. The arch is not too high and it tips my foot back like a clog would, but a nice soft insole. Worked on my feet in retail through the Christmas season and felt better than I have in a long time and the black color blends with my slacks better than white!

Because I have trouble with my feet (completely different from each other) I tried so many different brands of shoes and none of them relieved the pain until I ordered my latest pair of NB's. The comfort that I experience is beyond words! Having neuropathy only makes my problem a little more difficult to solve, but my extra wide NB's eases the pain quite a bit.

I have Morton's neuroma in both feet. My doctor said to find shoes with wide toe area and high toe box. This shoe is fantastic to fill both needs. It is soft and comfortable inside, too. Inner sole is removable if you need to use orthotics. Great shoe!

Thank you for your typical great service; I have had nothing but positive and polite connections with your company. Keep up the good work and good luck with your continued successful business! My only request is that the shoe laces are really long and with narrow feet (shoes are size AA width), I have to buy shorter laces. That is a request of the shoe company. Zappos.com is terrific.

I've had several pairs of this shoe so I knew it would be fine. My orthopedic surgeon recommended New Balance as a moderately priced brand of athletic shoes with a wide toe box and decent arch support. They work well as long as you replace them every few hundred miles.

I am a 70 year old female; love moderate walking (2-3 miles a day). Have worn NB for years and wouldn't trust my feet or knees to any other walking shoe. I wear a 9 N in dress shoes, but always go up 1/2 size in length and width due to wearing very thick socks. It works very well for me.
