The 814 is my first New Balance running shoe. They seem to size equally with Nike. They are extremely light and breath well for hot days. They are the first shoe that has allowed me to feel the terrain underfoot while providing great traction and performance. They are a great fair weather running shoe.

This shoe looks great and the features seem great too, but I read reviews that mostly said it fits a half size too small. I ordered one half size bigger and it didn't matter because the width was really snug. also I could tell that the rubber tread wasn't very good quality just by looking at it. I could see glue and some of the black lugs had a thin layer peeling off to reveal yellow rubber under it. So after wearing it for a few days it seems like the rubber would look a mess of yellow and black. Also I wasn't able to get the shoe in a wider width than a d...so bummer for my curly toes that don't like being cramped. Oh well, thought I'd give it a shot with the half size bigger, but no dice. At least they have a good return policy. Only downside is that I have to wait even longer for a new pair of shoes that I need now.

At first I loved these shoes. Very light and breathe well. The sole in them however only lasted a couple months and pretty much became useless. Bought some Dr. Scholls to replace the soles and now comfortable again. But now the rubber around the soles on the outside seems to be coming apart. Weird since I work in an office and haven't been that active in them at all.

These shoes are very comfortable. They are nice and cushy inside. The only thing I would change about them is the tongue, it moves around a lot.

OK shoe. Looks better online. Feels cheap. Would probably not buy again.

I bought these and started wearing them May 2011. In October, I found the sole starting to separate from the front of each shoe. Couple months later and it just gets worse. Stitching is fraying, the hooks the shoe laces thread through are falling off. Mind you I work in an office job and mostly sit and don't even have my shoes on all day. I am anything but active in these things. Last pair of New Balance for me (this was my fourth pair).

I think this will be that last pair of NB shoes I buy. I am not sure what happened but I have had a hard time with sizing and fit. NB used to fit me like a glove, but recently the advertised size is off.

I really like New Balance shoes and had just purchased another style/model when I ordered these. My mistake for taking them out of the box and not trying them and I admit that. But, these shoes are at least 1 size smaller than advertised. My big toe is pushing on the front of the shoe. Everything else is okay with the shoe, great look, style, support, but the size, well that is obviously bad for me. That all being said, I would still buy another pair, and from Zappos too, but just in a larger size and i would wait until I tried them on before I threw away the box. Live and learn.

I usually buy this series of New Balance sneaker (809/810/811/812/813) and was not happy with the styling or sizing. The tongue of the shoe itself doesn't have the loops to keep it from shifting around and so I was always seeing my sock near the bottom because it kept moving. Sizewise - it felt smaller overall. I don't know why, as I said I usually have good luck with this series but nevertheless, I went and ordered another pair of 813's. Maybe the 815 will have better luck!
