I purchased these to work some clinical rotations in the hospital that required me to be on my feet for 12 straight hours. After reading numerous reviews and comparing specs, I settled in New Balance because I thought they would hold up well after a long day. The first day was fine, but after that, these became some of the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have very high arches, and that is where I usually experience foot fatigue, but with these I had an intense pain in both heels. I took out the insoles and sure enough, the heel plate on these things is literally hard as a rock. I tried three different pairs of insoles, including a custom orthodics one, and nothing helped. I hate to return something like shoes after they have been worn as I hate for a company to eat the cost, but there is simply no way I could continue wearing these, even in casual settings. Also, the shoe has quite a bit of very shiny plastic material that did not come through in the pictures. Not my personal style, but I could have seen past that if these did not kill my feet.

I have always been a 12 4E in New Balance. The last two pairs I ordered this size and they were too long. This pair are at least a half to 3/4 size smaller than listed. These are good looking shoes. I just wish I could get it in a 12½.

For those with wide feet, the toe box on this shoe, even in a 4E runs very narrow. Keep that in mind.

I wear a size 13 and have wide feet. The size 13 D fits me perfectly. I haven't had a chance to put these through the paces yet, but they are very comfortable. They also look better in person. I went with the orange color and like them alot.

My feet are wide and I need the 4E width, which means that I've been using New Balance shoes for over ten years now. I've owned many pairs of NB shoes but these 814 seem to be sized one size too small. Order a size up and you should be fine. Had to return my 11s and am awaiting on the 12EEEE. Don't know what is going on with NB but they seem to be off of their sizes now.

These are great all-purpose running shoes! I have a very wide foot and these feel great while not looking like clown shoes. They are a bit slippery on ice but for everything else they rock. Made in USA!

Nice athletic shoe. Runs at least a 1/2 size smaller than indicated size.

Bought these for my 11 year old son. He found them comfortable and cushy from the first wearing. He has a very wide foot and the width we ordered fit him well.

The shoe replaced my so wornout New Balance All Terrain 806. I could not find the exact same shoe, so I was afraid of ordering online, but the shoe is a perfect fit, true to the size of my very old one.

Husband normally takes a 9.5 4E and needed these in a 10 4E. He's had a hard time finding cleats to play recreational soccer or softball. Thes have great treads and do the trick.

Assembled in the USA. I found the size to run about 1/2 to 3/4 size smaller than I am used to, so plan ahead. Overall I am happy with the extra effort finding something that (hopefully) supported US workers.

As always, Zappos has excellent customer service! As for this New Balance model, it is not true to fit! I wear a 8.5 4E and this fit like a 8 2E. I went on the New Balance website and read similar reviews on its fit.

Great shoes. These are very comfortable and lightweight. They breathe well and are great daily shoes to wear. First New Balance I have bought in years and hold true to their quality.

Very lightweight yet very rugged. The perfect shoe for casual office or extreme trails. I've loved New Balance for decades, but after seeing a documentary about the company, I'm more determined to go New Balance whenever I can. They are now the only athletic shoe made in the USA.

One of the few times that I got it right on the first try. As usual, my shoes arrived before I expected and this time they fit right the first time (I have large flat feet and use orthotics). I use Zappos for all my shoes and some times I return 2 or 3 pair before I find the one that fits. Zappos is ALWAYS helpful with free shipping both ways. THANKS ZAPPOS!

Nice looking shoe. Had to return because the sole is thick. My husband is already tall and he said it made him feel like he was standing on something. Extra width was perfect.

Great fit and very comfortable. I have high arches and the 814's provide excellent support.

I've had these shoes for about a month now. I'm pretty satisfied all across the board. The only time, I was less than thrilled with them, was when I wore them on long walks (talking 3 hours+ here). That being said, running shoes aren't designed with that purpose in mind; they're designed to shift your weight forward. Thus, walking long distances in them is less than ideal because you will most likely experience soreness in the ball of your foot, like I did. However, these shoes will comfortably meet the needs of anyone who doesn't need to criss-cross their city on foot every day. Gold Star for look, durability, and meeting expectations. Oh yeah, one more thing. These were a tad snug on my foot when I first got them. That being said, I'm used to wearing cross trainers which generally have a looser fit. I broke them in and they feel great now. You may want to buy in a width larger than your true size...maybe.

These shoes look even better once you have them! They are very comfortable and have great styling. And you can't beat Zappos prices, excellent customer service and super fast shipping. I have very wide feet, and it is hard to find a pair of decent shoes in my size. I bought these although they are a width smaller, and just got them a half size bigger. I am very happy with how they fit.

Walking/running in this sneaker is an amazing experience. I feel like I am walking on a cushion of air that makes walking/running less of a chore and way more fun.
