Got these about an hour ago. Put them on and walked around the house and out to the mailbox. The strap that goes between your toe rubbed so badly that I have a big red mark on my foot. The soles felt good and the sandal stayed on my foot. Sadly I think I will have to return these.

Always loved this sandal, but for some reason this year / this pair, the tongue / straps between toes was enormous. Even after tightening the side straps, the top of my foot kept floating around and slipping.

Oh Chacos -- why did you change a good thing?! I ordered these as a replacement for my old hipthongs, which are dying after three years: there is no tread left at all and the webbing is on its last legs. I loved my old hipthongs -- to death, nearly. I ordered the same size as before - an 8 (the size is still readable on the heel of my old pair). My toes nearly reach the very front and my heels are at the very back. the middle strap is elastic and is no longer adjustable, and the footbed (ie, the arch support, which always made chacos so much more comfortable than Tevas or other river shoes) does not fit the length of my foot. I will try sizing up to a 9 (there are no half sizes), as I rely on having a comfortable, substantial "flip flop" for nearly daily active summer wear, but if you are looking to replace your old beloved Chacos, be forewarned. Wolverine (Merrell) acquisition of Chaco was not for the better. (sad face)

Surprisingly tight - I have narrow feet and could not loosen the strap any further. Also tight in the toes.

I'm pretty ambivalent about this sandal, and I guess Chacos in general as I've also worn the Z1s. The construction is solid and the arch support is above and beyond (almost too much for my flat foot). But I bought these in hopes that they would be my go-to travel sandal that I would be able to walk miles in. Unfortunately for me that is not the case. These feel great on shorter jaunts in mild climates, but as soon as my foot starts to swell or sweat these then quickly become unbearable to walk in. The straps will rub and the footbed feels like a rock. But in other situations the sandal is quite comfortable....its like a two-faced shoe or something! Very frustrating! Sadly, I just don't think Chacos are for me. These did fit true to size and I had no qualms about the elastic straps.

Wanted to like this..but it is just too wierd. The best way I can describe it is "A thong trying to be a Chaco". Not comfortable, and a weird sensation when you walk.

The arch support is great, but because the sole is heavy, and because these are flip flop style shoes, it feels like you expend more energy holding on to the sole when walking. I have other Chacos that don't have the toe post and they are more comfy. Still a good shoe, just not my favorite.

Very disappointed to order these and find that Chaco changed the design on the "adjustable" webbing on these -- I have an older pair and the cross webbing adjusts through the footbed (kind of Chaco's claim to fame) for a custom fit. This pair has a slightly stretchy cross webbing and only the outside webbing adjusts. Boo, Chaco. If it ain't broke...

Huge disappointment. I love the sole. I have plantar fasciitis and a bone spur and the shoes feel great. However, the strap configuration is so strange. I bought an8, my regular size, and they felt way too small. My heel was at the very end. I ordered a 9 and they looked and felt great until I started walking and my heel ended up practically hanging over the heel again, leaving a huge space at my toes. Some other reviewer said how they pushed her feet back and they did the same to me. Its a shame, b/c I love the idea of a very secure flip flop. They aren't so easy to just slip on, but I love the backless idea. Both pairs are being returned.

I agree completely with Cindy's review. My favorite "go to" pair of shoes for summer were always the Hipthong Ecotread, but after wearing those out from using them constantly, I ordered a new pair. Not the same. Not as comfortable due to the different stretchy cording used for the crisscross section. The actual stretchy cording might have been okay (although it hugs the foot more and is less adjustable), except the adjustment plastic buckles are too far up on the top of the foot - not comfortable. In addition to that change, the sizing seems to have changed slightly. Either the foot bed is slightly smaller, or the tighter fit of the cording makes the foot sit farther back on the shoe. It makes the shoe seem about a half size smaller. Really sad that they changed a good thing. Not sure I can keep these even though I had a love affair with this shoe prior to the new design. Bummer!

The strap that doesn't have the clasp thingy was not adjustable and way too tight. It was cutting into the top my foot. Couldn't wear them.

Don't get this shoe if you are a fan of the Chaco adjustable straps. They've been replaced with an elastic strap. Seems to run a bit smaller than other Chacos. 5 pairs of size 8 but this pair was a 9.

If your foot is in any way slightly wide, the straps will not adjust enough to allow your foot to slide in, and you will look like a sausage foot stuffed into a shoe. Also, for all the hype about arch support, these feel cheap, and offer nothing that most other shoes offer. Definitely no cushioning or support for walking anywhere except in the arch.

I have the original version of this sandal & I love it. However the straps that allow you to adjust the sandal are elastic on this version & no matter how often I readjust them the sandal slips off my feet while walking. I am so disappointed. I regret not returning them because I never wear them.

I so wanted to like these. but they were wrong in several ways. I ordered the 10 and the 11. Both shoes found my foot sliding back off the heel....even with the straps super tight. And there was a lot of extra length at the toe end. Also, the shoe was cut out in such a shape (the left worse than the right) that it was going in a different direction than my foot. it was curved way in, while my foot was pretty straight. strange. I do have foot issues, but my feet do not point in the wrong direction. Just tried chaco shoe, which I love (gallant), so wanted a sandal. can't do the straps across the big toe joint (arthritis), so I love a thong. and this is the only thong they make. So, no chaco sandals for me, I guess.
