Chaco has redesigned the Hipthong (Hipthong two) and not for the better. The bigger webbing and thong part of the sandal was never adjustable, but the part that criss-crosses over your foot was. The webbing used to slide thru the footbed to be able to adjust the straps. They got rid of that feature on the hipthong two and replaced the crisscross straps with elastic. Having narrow feet the shoes no longer fit well and are too stretchy and flip flop like feeling. Boo, Chaco, you ruined a good thing.

I will never buy a Chaco brand shoe again. Although I believe I got the correct size it did not fit my foot in a straight plane. Also there is no adjustment even though there looks like there could be on the side. When I tried to adjust the strap it threw the straight plane of the shoe off even more due to the way the shoe is manufactured. Because of the design I would not recommend this sandal and would say do not buy this shoe! Zappos offers at a good price but the brand is not for me.

Sadly, I am returning these. I had my first pair of Chaco Hipthongs for three years. I put thousands of miles on them. Last week the bottom cracked in two. I had heard that the newer version wasn't the same as the old, but I loved my first pair and decided to take a chance on these. Although they look very similar, the new version has stretch fabric for the straps and the straps no longer go through the footbed for adjustability. These two features make the shoe both too tight and too flip-floppy for me.

I am so disappointed with this shoe! I have been wearing Chaco sandals for a long time and this style is the one I usually buy because it fits and feels the best to me. However, they seem to have changed the straps. I can't adjust the straps to loosen them across the foot and they are a bit too tight. I don't know why they did this but I hope they change them back! I am returning this pair! This is so disappointing as these are usually my go to shoes in the summer because I have plantar fascia and very few sandals have the kind of arch support that I need. Chaco usually is the best sandal for me but these just don't work. Chaco. Please change these back to how they used to be! The straps need to be adjustable!

Unbeknownst to me, I bought my first pair of original style Hipthongs at the exact point in time that the original was discontinued in favor of this new Hipthong Two. So when I came back to write a 5 star review of the product I had just purchased I posted it here not realizing this was a different product. I only discovered what was going because I ordered a second pair and when they arrived they were a differently constructed shoe so I set out to research and found that the originals were discontinued and had even disappeared from the Zappos website entirely. I cannot wear the Two because instead of the 360 degree adjustment of the original hipthong this has elastic, non-adjustable straps across the arch which are uncomfortable for my foot. I returned that pair and scoured the internet to acquire a couple more pairs of the discontinued original. Maybe popular demand will bring back the original version?! Without the full adjustability, these are just not special (or wearable at all for me). I apologize for posting my earlier review to the wrong product, unfortunately I did not see a way to delete or comment directly to that posting.

Absolutely the best! I love these sandals, comfort all day, just walking or hiking. Love zappos no hassle ordering! You guys/gals are great.

I have the original Hipthong and just bought the Hipthong Two. Do not buy the Hipthong Two. I am sorely disappointed with the fit. I am sending my Hipthong One's back to Chaco to be resoled and rewebbed.

I love these sandals. I got them right out of the box and walked 10 miles. I got a little rubbing from the toe strap but that is to be expected for flip-flops. What amazed me was that my foot issues that had been plaguing me (arch issues) were not bothered at all. I love these! I wish they came in slippers.

As soon as I tried these on I knew they were a keeper. I have somewhat wide feet which is always a consideration when choosing shoes - the straps were snug, but in a comfortable, secure way with no rubbing. When I wear these I feel like I am in a solid, sturdy shoe. Really nice support for the arch, as well. For the sizing I would have preferred am 8.5, but since they only come in whole sizes, tried the 8. Just right, but any smaller my heel would be close to hanging over the end. A 9 probably would have worked also.

I am so very happy with these Chacos! They hug my feet comfortably and provide a solid decent arch support. Once you've adjusted them to your own foot, you can seriously wear them all day long. I love them!

Love these! Another great addition to my Chaco wardrobe! Very different from my others but love them just the same!

I love these Chacos! I bought them right before a trip where I walked 10 miles every day. Other than normal rubbing you get from new shoes, they were wonderful. I have problems with my arches so these offered just the right amount of support. They were recommended by my podiatrist and I'm so glad he did! Way better than my very expensive orthotics! (incidently, I bought another pair that I'll be returning. They are the most traditional flip flop fit and the arch support just isn't there.

I love Chaco brand shoes! They support your feet and last forever. I choose this brand over cheaper sandals because of the quality.

Love 'em. Good arch support and super comfy. I wouldn't ear these hiking or in water like I would other Chaco sandals with closed backs...probably wouldn't stay on well enough.

I bought these because my podiatrist recommended them for their arch support. I bought this pair and a pair of traditional flip flops from Chaco. The flip flops hurt my arch immediately, but these were wonderful. I walked 10 miles a day all long weekend on our anniversary trip in these new sandles and the only problems I had were more 'new shoe' skin rubbing than anything else. My arches felt fine. I do have edema in one foot and ankle and I was worried about the extra straps being too tight and while my foot did predictabliy swell, I didn't have any trouble with the traps being too tight.

I am crazy for Chaco Hipthong sandals. I own several pairs and absolutely wear them out. You can even send them in to have them re-webbed if the straps get worn or if your puppy chews them up. Hipthongs have the comfort of flip flops with the foot support of a real shoe. I noticed the straps on this pair fit slightly further back on my foot than older pairs of the same model, but this makes them even more comfortable. I know these are expensive for flip flops, but these are real shoes, not some $10 pair you pick up twice a season at Target. If you consider the cost per wear value here, I don't think they can be beat.

I have had foot damage from wearing heals for years. These are the only shoes that fit my feet perfectly and provide not only the arch support I require but also has my heel lower than the front of my foot. My pain is in the front of my foot. I can wear these and walk for miles without pain. They have been a life saver for me. I have been to four podiatrists who never helped me. I found these shoes by accident and hope that they never stop making them.

Option for 2 stars would not work on my ipad. I've had these for 3 years and live in the Northeast so don't wear them for 9 months of the year. I am disappointed that I can no longer wear them because the bottom traction wore off making them extremely slippery! I almost wiped out a few times walking down small hills of grass. When I first got them I would have given them 5 stars but now I have to buy another pair of sandals, these are not even a year old in terms of how many months I've actually worn them! I wish Chaco would make a more rugged sole!

I love these! They're incredibly comfortable, I can get them wet, no problem and once adjusted there's no pinching or chaffing. I had ordered the other style that wrapped around your toe and had to send them back because the straps did not stay where you placed them. Not a problem with these! Awesome flip flops!

Love the Hipthongs so much. They have changed the back straps to be stretchy and that is an interesting change. This is my third pair of hipthongs and love them.

I love these flip flops. I have problems with my arches and cannot wear flats of any kind without arch supports. These flips fit my feet perfectly and support both my arch and my heel and my feet never hurt I can wear them all day and walk painlessly. I just received my 2nd pair!

Simply fantastic. I wear these sandals everywhere and they are the only shoes that help relieve my neuroma pain. Great arch support and wonderful stretch added to the adjustable strap, which adjusts due to slight swelling on hot days. Love them!
