Bought these shoes for a trip to Vietnam in August and they were nothing short of perfect. I wore them almost exclusively. I "broke them in" by wearing them for only a couple of short walks around my neighborhood before wearing them in Vietnam and I'm not even sure that was needed... they gave me zero issues. The straps are all adjustable so you can get a great fit. My feet got swollen after the long flight and I needed to loosen them quite a bit, then when I swam in the ocean (I left them on) they felt too loose so I was quickly able to tighten them. They aren't the most trendy or attractive of shoes but they served their purpose well. Since then I've only used them camping but they were great then as well. They appear to be very well made and I look forward to wearing them for years to come!

These are the best sandals/shoes I have found for my daily hikes. I can adjust the width for my wide forefoot, they are comfortable, they come in black(yeah!), and they are strong. There are only two flaws: they do not have as much tread as mens' sandals/shoes, so I occasionally slip on the dry gravel (a serious flaw with all womens' shoes and sandals I have found); and they pick up gravel between the shoe and my foot my as I walk, so I frequently have to stop and brush it out. Otherwise they are great!

Quite literally the most comfortable shoe of my entire life. I like to be stylish and I don't feel like the shoes are super Duper stylish but I cannot sacrifice comfort anymore for style. I'm 29 and I have flat feet and anytime I go on a trip or walking in any other shoes for an extended period of time I get blisters. I wore the shoes all through Greece. Also through most of my travel The states. I will go walking in them they are so comfortable. Ever somebody with flat feet they feel like a vacation for my feet.

Very comfortable. I have had several pairs of Teva's, and they never seem to disappoint.

I have narrow feet, and Teva used to have sandals listed narrow. My present pair is about to disintegrate after years of use, but they no longer make the same design. So I tried two other models that have three places to adjust. I have a narrow heel, and find this makes a big difference. This shoe would be great for most people, I think, and the heel is okay, and even though it only comes in 9 and not half sizes [I am 8.5] this was not a big problem. But the front of the shoe is too wide. THE STRAP WILL NOT ADJUST TIGHTLY ENOUGH for my foot. So returning these. I do love the sole. And the look is nice. Plus a great price. Too bad. Luckily they had another model that worked better for me - though also not as good as my present one.

LOVE! Surprisingly soft and flexible, yet still has a hard durable bottom. I usually wear a 10 but I bought a 9 based off the recommendations and reviews. I also followed Teva's size guide. But most of all I love Zappos! Always amazing service! <3

YOU GUYS I'M OBSESSED. I've had these shoes for 3 years and they are still going strong. The only problems I've had with them has been the bottom sole has pulled away from the sole, but it hasn't affected how the shoe looks or wears at all. Oh, and the stench. Oh my gosh. It's enough to kill a horse. I have no idea what makes these shoes smell so bad, but I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Despite the indescribable smell, I still continue to wear these almost every day. I'm in college, and I wear these every single day (unless we have lab or it's too cold, but I'm at Mississippi State, so that's like never.) They are simply the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I'm thinking about purchasing another pair so I can have two. I don't think these shoes are going to last me a lifetime, as other outdoors sandals claim to do (and probably can live up to) but these shoes surpass others in comfort far and away. I own a pair of the unmentioned outdoor sandals, and these are like walking on clouds compared to those. The others would probably be better for hiking in the wilderness, but for hiking across campus, these definitely come out on top.

I bought these for a trip to Kauai. Knowing there would be hiking and areas where my feet could get wet I wanted a hiking sandal. I walked through some very muddy areas, streams, creeks, sand, rocks, etc...and they out performed my expectations. The velcro straps were great because they could custom fitted to my foot.

These shoes are great for traveling, especially if you plan on doing some small adventures along the way. I brought my Tevas backpacking, so I could have them once I got to camp. They were fairly lightweight, and very comfortable! I could use them with socks when cold, or swimming when it was too hot. I am very happy with these shoes!

I love Teva sandals, so it was no surprise that I loved these also. So comfortable and easy care. I normally wear a 7.5 shoe, but because this style only came in full sizes, I decided to order size 7. It fits perfectly. I know I should try a Teva that isn't a sandal!

I walked for 10 days and many miles around San Miguel de Allenda in my new Tevas with only one day of break in! Theses sandals may quickly replace my other all time favorite?

After really attempting to make the chaco sandal do well on my foot, the bottom line is for my high arch and whatever else in my lovely foot...I returned the sandal, and have tremendous comfort with the Teva! So very grateful for the Zappos policy: if the shoe doesn't work, return it and try another shoe!!

Has same strap system as the Original sandal, but way more support and flexibility in the sole. Ordered the TerraFi lite at same time and for me, Hurricane XLT is better for several reasons: support/"squishiness", price, and strap configuration. I have a bunion on one foot and the simple original style doesn't hurt because it goes right across the top of where it is. The fancier, double and triple strap styles hit right on the bunion and are extremely uncomfortable. Also, the TerriFi has a very thin sole in comparison and not as much support, which is important my foot with a plantar fascia injury. The Hurricane XLT is also about $20 less and 100% more comfortable. Since the sole has so much support, it also keeps my old sports-injury-knees comfortable as well. In summation, for people who have foot and knee issues - and are falling apart like me :) - the Hurricane XLT might be the best option. I also tried the Skechers Reggae Redemption, but it was too narrow and the straps were also narrower and cut into the feet a bit.

Eleven years ago I bought this same pair of Teva Hurricane water sandals to wear in the summers at our house on the lake where we are constantly on the water boating, kayaking, hiking, etc. I bought a size 7 because I am exactly a size 7 in every pair of shoes I buy. I never go up or down even a half size. About five years in to owning these Tevas someone laughed at me and asked why my shoes were so big. I looked down, noticing that there was almost an inch on the front with no feet in them. I said it was probably how these shoes were supposed to fit because they're made for walking around in water, over rocks, in creeks and riverbeds, etc., and the added rubber probably keeps pebbles out. They were extremely comfortable, I added. Another two years later I was still wearing them--that's seven years after buying them--and I noticed that the front, at the toe, was starting to split away from the sole. I intended to get another pair, but didn't get around to it. Our lake house is remote and there are no shoe stores in town. I'd have to remember to buy them in spring and bring them with. Same thing for the next two summers, I'd forget on the way there and just blow it off, so busy with other things. By this last summer I was 10 years in to owning these sandals and I was tripping constantly over the flapping front that really started to come apart. My daughter finally took the shoes, threw them in the trash and said it was starting to be embarrassing. Just get more on Zappos, she said. They'll be here tomorrow. Zappos sells Tevas? I asked. I was used to buying Aquatalia boots, Pedro Garcia sandals, and Cole Haan oxfords on Zappos, but water shoes?? Yes, she said, and this time get some that fit!! I found the EXACT same pair from eleven years ago. They hadn't changed a bit. Even the pattern was identical, except the old ones were navy and gray, and these are black and gray (which I love!). I ordered a size 6, a whole size down because they don't come in half sizes, and I received them the next day. I fully expected I'd be sending them back for the 7. They fit perfectly, toe and heel edge to edge, which I initially thought was a tad short, but WOW, were they ever better in the water than the 7s!!! In water they feel like an extension of your feet. They don't get heavy like the bigger ones did! I thought the old ones were comfortable--but these are a hundred times more so for doing water sports! Wish I did this size change about ten years earlier!

I tried the tevas and chacos at the same time. the teva has a softer footbed, at least at first, but does not have as much arch support as the chaco. also, i don't like ankle strap that surround my ankle in a circle, it's a little too constricting for me.

Comfortable for all day wear. Wish there was more arch support, but the extra cushion helps my feet from getting tired. Hiked in these shoes, and traction is great.

These shoes are so comfortable right out of the box. I have some arthritis type pain in my toes and close toed shoes really bother me - so the open style on these shoes is heaven sent. They are rugged and funky and I love them.

I think I've finally found the perfect sandals! I've been searching for something comfortable, sturdy, and water friendly for a while now. My main problem is that I have a wide foot, and most sandals of this type are simply too narrow. Even ones with velcro adjustable straps are too narrow and I end up with just a small piece of strap actually being stuck together. Not so with these! I found the foot bed plenty wide enough and the straps long enough to allow me to adjust them perfectly and still feel absolutely secure. That said, if you have a narrow foot, these probably aren't for you. I can't wait to land in Maui and put a whole lot of hiking miles on these babies! Thanks Zappos for the awesome selection and speedy delivery, as always!

I love these sandals. They aren't pretty but who cares? I wore them on an overnight camping trip and would not take them off. They have plenty of grip for dry and wet conditions. My only issue with these is how the upper strap occasionally rubs my foot but this is mostly fixed by adjusting the Velcro.
