I am surprised to see so many positive reviews for these sandals. The style is nice but the functionality is really lacking. It is as if the designers never tested their product in the field. I bought these for white water rafting and trips to the beach. A mistake I wish I could take back. The four issues I have with these sandals are: 1. When walking, the plastic clasps "click and clack" with every step you take. Very annoying. 2. The plastic claps are on the opposite side of the sandal from where they typically are on other sandals. A small added hassle getting them on and off. 3. The "Drain Frame" sounds good in theory but what it actually does is trap sand and pebbles in the "Shoc Pad" heel area, making it uncomfortable to walk. Hopefully you will have a something thin to pluck all the debris out of your "Shoc Pad" and "Drain Frame" every few steps. 4. After literally four uses in one year, the glue is starting to separate from where the lime green meets the sandal. Not acceptable for such expensive performance sandals. Do yourself a favor and save the hassle. Find different sandals that function as well as they look.

Bought the pair of shoes a year and a half ago. They feel very comfortable, not too heavy, and they are quite useful in wet situations, never slippery, always sticky. Their only cons is the strap chafes. They are made of a flimsy plastic, have a dubious purpose in addition to the velcro, and are far from being durable. One of them came a bit loose after a very short time (although this is not noticable in normal condition). The piece of textile by which they are attached to the shoe is also of dubious quality, mine got broken after a year and a half. Of course, I used them in a lot of situations from climbing to kanoeing, but I would have expected a bit more from this kind of shoes.

As a 50-something with big, flat feet (14 EE), I have a really tough time finding shoes, especially sandals. These Toachi's are far and away the most comfortable I've come across. The soft support is great on my plantar fasciitis, and they're so light that you can wear them all day with no pain. I even wore these on my anniversary vacation where we trekked through Rome, Italy for 4 days. I wore them every day, and my feet never hurt the entire trip. I got a backup pair just in case Teva stops making them.

This was a gift for my husband for our trip to Aruba. He was comfortable and couldn't thank me enough as he wore them in the beautiful clear beach waters. Highly recommend this!

Love the fact they they buckle, no velcro. I do own the kind that velcro and they have been great BUT I had truly missed the BUCKLE! Easier to put on. I wear them all year round. Since I have received the new ones in the mail, I'm going to have to finally retire my Gray pair that have NO tread, cracking in the center, many miles of walking and hiking; what does one expect after 7 yrs of use. :-) Thanks for designing them again!

I bought these for my husband and he loves them - says they are the most comfortable sandals that he's owned. We bought a second pair to take with us when we go to FL for the winter.

These caused massive blisters on my heals after a couple of hours of walking in them. I suggest buying these 1 size larger than you need. That might have cause less blisters. Mine are in the trash now.

I could not wear these because they were too narrow and the ankle strap could hardly close. Although I have wide feet, I have been able to easily wear other Teva sandals. This pair I will be returning and hope to get another style

I love the model I bought several years ago. It has held up extremely well, is comfortable and performs exceedingly well, which is why I purchased a replacement pair. The new tread seems adequate. Changes I don't appreciate: lacks full-sole drainage system, the clasp on the ankle strap doesn't secure the strap adjustment (important for rafting and kayaking as velcro fails under extreme, and even not so extreme, water forces, potentially resulting in losing one's footwear), the fabric padding under the straps is thinner and doesn't completely cover the foot, no front footbed guard (sole extends up the front of the sandal on the old model, protecting the softer footbed), much less thickness in the footbed, less stitching holding it all together. I don't expect this model to last as long as the previous or to perform as well. I hope I am mistaken.

These sandals look nice and appear to be of good quality. However, my husband found them to run quite narrow. He ordered in his size first, and then half a size up. We ended up returning both pairs and will be replacing them with different sandals. Fortunately, Zappos' customer service and return policy are excellent and simple.

I tried the Teva Obern and Tanza and didn't like either one. The straps on both were uncomfortable. The Toachi 2s are great! The straps are comfortable, they are very supportive and the buckle on the side is ingenious. I'll be keeping these!

Great for walking and hiking. Went for a short run/jog and the sandals preformed well. Great arch support and I love the cushioned heel. Have to try a climb with them . . .

I needed a new pair of sandals after my puppy got ahold of my (now) old ones. I tried a couple pairs from Zappos and decided to keep the Toachis. I love the snap to quickly remove/put them on. There was a minimal break-in period. I had them around a month and so far so good!

These are the best-fitting sandals I've ever owned. Excellent arch support and, with three adjustments to use, a very snug fit. Lightweight, and the slight taper at the toe keeps me from scuffing, which seems to happen with most sandals. Super happy with the design too; for me, nothing rubs or chafes.

I purchased these sandals based upon the comments of others. I have to admit that they look okay but there is absolutely nothing special about these sandals. They are not worth the price paid. Again, they are nice sandals but that is it. I have had many pairs of Teva sandals that far exceed these in fit and quality. The buckle, they hype, fastens on the outside of shoe which is very difficult to reach and if you have the straps snug enough it is difficult to connect the buckle. Zappos performed their part with great efficiency. I should have kept the box to return them.

I purchased a pair of Toachi 2's and a pair of the Tanza's. The Toachi 2's were considerably skinnier in width and my foot felt like it was not "stable" in the sandle. I would not feel comfortable walking over rocks or uneven terrain in these so I returned them.

This is a truly great sandal--very comfortable and easy to use. Comfortable footing and straps that are infinitely adjustable to fit any foot. When i first saw the buckle i couldn't imagine it would be easier than the velcro strap on my old sandals. But it really is a big improvement for getting on and off. The outside buckle is located to provide easy access for either sandal. Very well made, attractive, usable wet or dry, and comfortable. A winner.

Ordered same size (13) as previous TEVAs (SN6670, Terra Fi 2) and they are over 1/2" narrower and 3/4" shorter in the footbed. Company cannot explain the change, nor tell what the footbed measurements are of larger sizes to be sure we order the correct size.

For years I have been looking for water sandals that are comfortable from the first moment you put them on. I finally found them. I wore Reef Runners for years but they finally wore out and Reef discontinued making them. These don't rub blisters into the top of your feet from the straps. The top strap is adjustable and clips into place easily. Worth every penny. Using them on a 75 mile canoe adventure in late June. Only wish I found them sooner.

I am kicking myself for getting rid of my original Toachis - they were the perfect sandal (pictured below). Except for a broken strap that could have been repaired, they still had a lot of life left in them. But instead I threw them out with the intention of getting new ones. To my dismay the design of the Toachi 2 is very different and unsatisfactory: far less arch support, a thinner uncomfortable toe strap, and a design on the footbed that irritates my feet. I could live with the last two if it had the same arch support as the originals. But alas, I will be returning them.

This is the most comfortable sandal that I have ever purchased. I own Four Pairs and would not look for another sandal as long as they are available. For me, this sandal has no flaws.

I got these sandals last summer for my 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son specifically to use with their scooters. I'm a little paranoid about them scooting in flip flops and getting their toes/feet mangled (or even just hurt). My son has worn out several pairs of shoes using his foot as a stopped with his scooter, but these have held up well. The kids have never had blisters, or complained about wearing these sandals. To me they are a perfect alternative to wearing tennis shoes in the hot TX summer when feet & toes need a little more protection than flip flops or other sandals provide.

Same pair I had before. Make sure to buy next half size above because your foot needs to be well inside the back part to fit right.

I have worn out two pairs of these great sandals and would love to see more color choices. I'll buy again but people are beginning to wonder if I own other shoes...which I do but never wear. LOVE these. Most favorite part is that they have buckles and you can adjust Velcro once and forget it. Great foot support as I have painful feet if I go barefoot. If you need a good walking sandal with excellent support, I'd recommend these.
