Frye has always seemed to be consistent with sizing yet these boots are really narrow and a smidge too short. Even when I loosened the laces, I could barely get my foot into the boot and I have a narrow foot. Odd. I normally wear a size 8.5 so I am going to order the size 9.

This boot really needs a side zip. Granted, once you have it on, it IS very comfortable and easy to wear for hours, especially considering the heel height. Frye knows comfort! I also had to deduct a star for Style because this is a little more Caterpillar-cloggier looking than the typical sleek look I'd expect from a Frye.
Despite the lumberjack look, this boot would have won me over IF it had a side zip. But you have to undergo the de-lacing of the boot to get your foot into it (and I have narrow feet) and then the re-lacing . . . and then doing the same for the next foot. If these were beauties and I were dressing for a night out or an event, I would not mind the lacing trials AT ALL. But for normal treks at work or around town? Meh. I guess I'm too lazy to think it is worth the effort. And I hold Frye to a higher standard as well. Frye should have known that this type of boot needed a side zipper, darn it! :-) Hopefully we'll see one on the next generation.

The boots fit well actually, I did not like that the edge of the leather where the laces are was raw leather as in, the edges were almost white looking. For the price they need to be perfect.

I wanted to love this boot. It's the closest thing I've seen to my ancient Georgia Boot logger-style "Oxfords," the coolest and comfiest lug-soled, stacked heel shoes ever. These are very nice boots, but they don't fit well. My foot slides forward, and they are higher (the boot, not the heel) than what I wanted. I will be returning them and continuing the search.

Beautiful looking boot with heavy duty lug soles. I found the leather, while very durable, way too thick and stiff for my comfort. I would love this same boot with a softer leather and a heel about 1 inch to 1/2 inch lower. Then, it's a definite keeper.

These boots are very pretty. The first pair that arrived, I had to return because there was a huge scuff on one heel and discolored stitch and toe on the opposite shoe. As usual, Zappos stepped up and sent a pair without scuffs. The shoes are comfortable, although some breaking in is needed around the ankle where the leather is tight.

I just got these boots a week ago as a gift. I received the sunset and it is quite a nice color. It is more of a honey color. At least the pair I got. The leather is stiff but you can tell it will soften up. The only thing is it has a sloop meaning a high arch. I haven't worn them that long to tell it will be a problem. So far they are breaking in nicely. These are definitely great addition to any wardrobe.

Here's the thing about these boots: they are clearly well made and stylish, which immediately puts them way ahead of most of the other boots out there. There is simply no comparison between these and the others in similar styles (i.e. feminine combat-boots with a heel made by steve madden, lucky, Aldo etc etc).
The red however, which looks amazing in the picture, is more orangey than red and not very feminine at all. I am toying with the idea of exchanging them for the saddle-colored boots, but am not sure I can trust the photo on that pic now that I've seen the red pair. I don't agree with other reviewers about them being narrow. They feel average to me. They are a little on the heavy side.

May suggest ordering a 1/2 size up in these ones (or better yet, ordering your regular size plus 1/2 size up to try both). I have several pairs of Frye shoes (always on sale, thanks Zappos and 6pm!), and always purchase size 9.5 in their boots (I am a 10 in most other brands). I have the Sabrina 14L and loved the quality of leather, heel height, classic rounded toe; had been looking for a laced bootie and was so excited to see the Sabrina 6G. The Sabrina 14L's I have are more snug than my other Frye's, especially on middle/top of foot, and I can't wear thick socks in them, so I almost tried the 6G's in a 10. But went with 9.5 anyway, not having the funds to purchase and try out both sizes before deciding. These have a similar fit to the 14L's. I wore them for a couple days hoping they'd break in a bit (so - can't return now), but wish I'd gone with the 10. They are very snug, and my feet don't seem to settle in them very naturally. That being said, they are still adequately comfortable - no weird rubbing on the heel or ankle - and definitely good looking! Glad to finally have a pair of Frye's that have a bit of traction for clomping around the hills and cobblestones in my area, as well.

I'm an 8.5/9B and an 8/rarely 8.5 Frye boot wearer but I'm glad I went for 8.5 in these (planned to wear thicker socks). The extra room came in handy - they desperately needed an insole under the balls of me feet to be comfortable. Would've returned if the added insoles hadn't fixed the prob. With lower heeled Fryes, I don't notice the lack of cushioning but in these I REALLY did. With gel inserts, they are very wearable. Color is v. nice medium to dark tan that goes with browns well but isn't the same-old-same-old. The laces were two diff. lengths which was weird. But in the end, I'm satisfied with these winter lace up boots. Love the vibram soles!!!

Beautiful construction and materials. Stylish and timeless but hurts the top of my angle when tied too tightly and quite heavy. Overall I love them though. Something you will keep forever.

These are a well made, rugged looking boot with extremely nice leather uppers with the perfect texture and coloring on the Fawn (taupe). Expensive, but all that niceness comes at a price. I purchased a 10 which fit pretty well. I have a high instep though, and these boots did not accommodate that. They also were loose in the heel, more like a cowboy boot. These boots are as nice looking as the photo, but they are not sufficiently different from a Doc Marten boot or a Steve Madden combat style boot to warrant a place in the wardrobe. It's nice to have a slightly higher heel than the Docs, though, but these still not different enough to look distinctly like a woman's shoe.

I had ordered these boots in black and when they arrived and I tried them, I have to admit, I felt like a chunky goth. They are solid boots. But, I saw potential and tried the camel color and I'm glad I did, they look much better! The heel is 2.5 inches but it's still very comfortable to wear walking around NYC. They look cute with skirts and especially with pants. Being Frye boots, they are going to be a bit stiff at first until the leather breaks in, but it's so worth it. Frye boots last forever if you take care of them.

These boots are beautiful. The leather tooling is gorgeous, and the leather smells oh sooooo luxuriously yummy. Unfortunately, the soles were extremely stiff and didn't have a rocking feel like cowboy boots, so they were difficult to walk in. I knew they weren't cowboy boots, but I expected them to "give" at least a little bit to help you walk comfortably. I didn't want to take the chance in trying to break them in. Also, I have very thin feet, ankles, and calves. The leather didn't lay flat on my ankles, and it puckered. So sad I'm having to return them. :,( My search continues.

I ordered a size 8 and was sent a 5 1/2. I had to order them from another company as the 8 was sold out when I tried to replace them. I did appreciate the quick refund however.

The boot itself is well made, comfortable, stylish, and would look great with so many different outfits (I have a pair of Sabrinas from a yer ago in a beigy-taupe color that I LOVE, so I know this boot quite well) . My complaint is that it is NOT pink, or lilac, or anything even close. It could be described as more of a mauvy-taupy-flesh color, and I wouldn't even really call it a neutral due to its weird hue. I can't decide if I'm keeping them or not because they don't even come close to going with the clothes I had planned to wear with them. I have to put this one in the fail column, Frye.

I ordered these in black as a replacement for a pair I bought about 6 years ago. The new ones were a cheap stiff leather -unlike the old ones which were soft pebbled leather. Very disappointing that Frye is cheapening their product. I'll just keep wearing the old ones. This new version is not worth $400+. I returned them.

Frye has cheapened the leather over past 5 years. I ordered a replacement of same boots from 6 years ago. Old ones were soft, pebbled leather. New ones were stiff cheap leather, no texture. Uncomfortable. I will return.

1st off, let me say these boots are very well crafted & made with quality materials. My only issue was that the tongue did not reach the top of the boot which wasn't comfortable & looked odd when worn with skirts. A bit plain, style-wise, for me.

I wanted to love these boots and honestly I thought they were super cute and comfy. The quality was just not what I think a $400 pair of shoes should be. There was a split in both heels where the composite heel met the sole of the shoe. Seems to me like a factory defect. I'm sure they would have been fine but since they were so expensive and touted to be such high quality, I was expecting perfection and these just weren't worth the squeeze.

Almost, not quite. This looks so great: perfect height, great style. But why is it so very stiff? I think at the higher price point, the leather should reflect that. Even going up half a size to account for comfort all around and wearing socks, it was still too uncomfortable around the ankle area. It would have hurt to walk, I can tell. No side-zip too. It would have been worth the price if it had the same comfort of the Veronica boot, with this *perfect* Sabrina heel height. So close, so close.

I think I might be the only person that did not care for these boots. They were extremely stiff and I ordered half a size larger to accommodate for socks and I barely could get them on my feet with very thin socks on. Once on, they were very uncomfortable - not like the other Frye shoes that I have (although the others I have are wedge sandals and I give them five stars all the way). These are attractive boots, but for me, as far as comfort and practicality, they are being sent back.

Love the look and quality of these boots, but I could barely get my foot into them. Once I got them on, it felt like a stiff vice around my foot. I am a true size 8 which is what I ordered. I do not have a narrow foot, but have never had to order a wide either. When I took them out of the box, they actually looked smaller than an 8. The footbed and support seems like it would be good, but again, I could really walk much in them. Anyway, really nice looking and good quality, but runs small and narrow.

I have narrow heels with a normal arch. These has an instep (the part of the insole underneath the arch) that was way too high..it hurt the underside of my foot so I had to return them. Had that not been the problem I would have kept them. It was a beautiful boot.
