I love these shoes because they can be worn without socks. They are very comfortable, but they do run a little big. I would maybe try a half size smaller than you usually get. I got a size 9 - my usual size - and they are a little roomy, but wearable. I got the black ones, and you could even wear them to work as maryjanes. Overall, great shoe!

I purchased these in the Acacia yellow after doing some research on "Barefoot" shoes. Thankfully, these are much more attractive than Vibram Five Finger shoes, but have the same thin, light Vibram sole. Barefoot shoes are made to make it feel like you are walking barefoot to naturally strengthen your foot and leg muscles, so don't expect the same cushioning and arch support that you would normally have in any other pair of Merrells. You can definitely feel the ground in these, which is exactly what I was looking for. Also great that these are machine washable, and they are so thin and light that you can roll them into a ball. Very comfortable, and I have already received many compliments on the color. I will most likely pick up a second pair, or maybe a pair of Pace Gloves.

I am a true 8.5 in length, but due to bunions on both my big and pinky toes, I usually have to go up to a 9. I ordered both in this shoe, and am happy to say that the 8.5 was the right size for me (which means the sizing is "true"). What I have found with the Merrell Barefoot shoes is that if you plan to wear socks, go up a 1/2 size. If you plan to go barefoot, order your normal size. These have less arch support than the lace-up Merrell Barefoot shoes (such as Pace Glove and Dash Glove), but more than the Wonder Glove, which had none. (But the Wonder Glove was way cuter.) In the end I decided not to keep these because the velcro strap was annoying me. I prefer an easy on/off shoe (if it's not a lace-up), and you have to unhook the velcro to get these on or off.

This had more structure in the arch and sole than I'd expected for a 'barefoot' shoe. There was enough space in the toe box. There was indeed space between my foot and the shoe above my instep, but I thought that was fine. I still like the shoe and almost kept it, but decided to go with another style Merrell barefoot shoe instead.

Love these shoes! I am not a runner but bought them to wear to work. I have weak ankles and bought these because a review said good ankle support and it's true. I am inching into them to ease the adjustment and have a little ache-iness if I wear them all day. The straps are tight across the ankle, because mine are high. I do feel barefoot in them somewhat and allows walking meditation outside in the yard with no problem. I have recommended them to friends.

Loving these. Taking them on vacation today! I have a very high arch, but the strap still fits. Nice and lightweight but decent support.

Very walkable shoes; the only problem is that the strap gets irritating after a few hours of wearing.

Super lightweight and comfortable. It felt a little short, I am a true 6 and could probably have gone 6 1/2 but didn't bother me enough to return them.

This pair were almost perfect. I've being looking for a good versatile pair of athletic mary jane. Although there was plenty of space for my toes and the heel was not hurting, I sent them back 'cause there was something off once I step on them that bothered me.

I got the barefoot lithe pure wonder glove or something like that (not available now) and yes, the velcro strap is way too short. I can close the strap and it stays closed, I might just stick a piece of velcro on the exposed bit so it doesn't catch on stuff. Otherwise, very comfortable. I wear 8.5 or 9 and the 8.5 in these are fine.

These are incredibly comfortable shoes; however, I did have to return the first pair I ordered. It was the same style but in leather in my regular size 7. They felt too big and the elastic part around an ankle was stretched out and looked ugly. I exchanged them for this style in size 6.5 and was happy how they felt when I tried them at home. I bought them because I needed a super comfy pair to use at a convention where I knew I would spend entire day walking or standing. Well, that first day was hard. Probably because I didn't give my feet enough practice first. I was considering returning them again but now I am very glad I didn't. This is one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had but you do need to start slowly to get your feet accustomed to wearing them. I gave 4 stars because of those initial disappointments.

Very cute and I think it would be very comfortable in the right size. I returned it because I found another barefooter that was just right but may repurchase the larger size in the future.

This shoe is very cute and I wanted to like it because I need to find a barefoot running shoe and can't wear the five finger type. However, while the shoe seems long enough when I stand still, my foot slides forward in it and my toes run into the end when I walk or run. A larger size would be too loose in width.

Cute looking shoe, works well when you want a shoe you can walk in, but that looks nicer than a sneaker. The shoe is true to size, has a comfortable fit, and is very light. There is very little cushion in the sole, but this was easily remedied with a cushioned insert. The only problem I noted is that the material does not allow much air circulation, even without the insert, so after a few hours the shoe acquired a distinctly soggy feel. Would not recommend this for all-day wear.

I purchased these shoes with the hope they would be as comfortable as the reviews indicated! I have not been disappointed! Nice fit, great for long shopping days and for walking the dog, and jotting about and running, too!

I love these shoes and the idea of them, but I feel that they are overpriced probably because they represent the latest in fitness footwear.

This shoe is very comfortable and fits well (true to size for me). However, not incredibly feminine. I have large feet that looked even larger in these. I returned them. But again super comfortable and I think they'd look great on a petite foot.

I bought these on the recommendation from a friend who uses them for CrossFit. I exercise in Vibram Five Fingers, but want to continue the barefoot "feel" in public during normal activities without the creepiness of everyone staring at my feet all the time. These shoes were the perfect purchase. They took a few days to get used to. At first, I thought they were too big. Based on other reviews, I purchased the shoe true to size (I am a 9, I ordered a 9). I guess once my foot got used to them, it filled in all the space perfectly. These shoe are incredibly comfortable (if you are a barefoot fiend like me) and very cute. I've received many a compliment. I do a lot of walking in them every day - train station to bus stop to campus to bus stop to train and everything in between and they are great. No chafing, no weird rubbing, no nothing. Keep the velcro comfortable, don't overtighten it and it's perfect. My only complaint is that the first time I washed them, the gray from the toe fabric bled into the yellow. I have been unable to wash the gray back out, so now my cute yellow shoes have gray streaks running down the toe box. A little disappointing, but it's not keeping me from buying another pair. In black. Those can't bleed, right? All in all - great shoes for those seeking a barefoot shoe without all the unwanted attention. -1 star for the washability and streaking in the fabric.

I bought 2 pairs. The yellow is a different material than the black and is more comfortable. I have Vibram 5 fingers and was looking for a barefoot shoe I could wear to work. These have a thicker sole so they don't really feel all that barefoot, just lacking a cushioned insole. The arch is in an odd place but is no longer noticeable after a few wearings. They are reasonably comfortable for everyday wear but not for long walks. It's not the barefoot aspect and they just rub my foot, especially the mary jane strap. But overall they are fine for a ballerina type flat that I can wear for most activities.

I like these a lot so far. I usually wear a 7.5-8 and after trying and returning those ended up with an 8.5. I have some vibram FFs and these feel similar, but look super cute. Love this light purple. I do wish there was some give in the strap.

These are very comfy in general, but actually did squish my pinky toes just a bit. They might get better with wear, but that's my first impression. I like how light they are; they really do give my foot a lot of freedom. I usually get a half-size up from my actual size to make sure my feet aren't squished, but these didn't need that. I can feel the ground beneath my feet easily, too. I stepped on a branch to test this, and it was easy to feel it. They're also incredibly cute! The color is gorgeous (I got the red ones, and I've seen the blue ones in a store). The strap is a little high; I'd prefer it closer to my ankle. All in all, good shoes - especially for the barefoot experience without toe separation.

These definitely run large, I have returned two pair because they were both too large. I would recommend ordering a size down, especiallly if you don't want to wear socks with them.

For a barefoot shoe, one would expect an insole that helps to control perspiration but this shoe does not! Beware of stinky feet! They are comfortable but Merrell should make a barefoot shoe that you can easily go barefoot in!

Cute shoe. Barefoot is the perfect description--if you are comfortable in bare feet, you will enjoy these. They run a little bit big. I ordered a 9 and a 9.5 based on another review, and kept the 9, but could have done better with 8.5. Although they are light weight and seem breathable, they make my feet feel sweaty. They have anti-microbial linings, but I find this feeling uncomfortable.

I'm generally either an 8 or 8.5. I ordered these in 8.5 and they were definitely too short. I would need a 9 in them. However, that was not my biggest disappointment. Similar to a the problem another commenter mentioned, the Velcro strap doesn't close all the way on me, either. This wouldn't be a deal breaker aesthetically, but the design of the shoe has the prickly side on the bottom of the strap, and the soft side on top. So if the strap doesn't close all the way, it leaves the prickly side exposed. I'm sure I'd snag something sooner or later, so I'll have to find another style. I'm quite disappointed because they did seem to be very comfortable.
