I ordered these for my 3 year old. She measures a size 7 on the measuring device. I ordered a 7 and they were way too long. So I returned these and ordered the Newport which seemed a little shorter and fatter. (I compared them at my local REI store before I ordered the Newport). The Newports fit her much better. Gotta love Zappos for ease of doing business. Overall I love Keens for myself as well as her because they are good daycare shoes and she can wear socks in the early spring and late Fall and still wear them.

My daughter seems to have a very narrow foot and ankle. She fits well in Naturino. She is currently a size 5 1/2. I ordered her the 6, which seems to be a good fit length-wise for summer. There is some room to grow but not too much. My issue is with the velcro part. It seems to run wide for my daughter's narrow foot and ankle. I could not get the velcro to overlap without the material bunching. I never had this problem with my son, who has been wearing them for about 3 years now, so it may be her foot, but I wanted to warn other buyers who worry about a more "delicate" foot.

I have been buying Keens for my entire family for many years. Historically they have been marvelous shoes all around. This year though.... some disappointment in the same styles I have repeatedly purchased for my kids. When Keens first came out they used to run small, both in adult and children's styles. I always accounted for this when ordering our shoes. Suddenly last year it swung the opposite way, and all sizes were gargantuan too large, so I began adjusting down when ordering. This year, however, I noticed a marked decrease in the quality of the shoe and the components used to manufacture them. I ordered the Whisper for all three girls (adjusting down a size) and was quite unhappy within a month. These shoes used to be indestructible; they could be thrown in the washing machine over and over and come out looking brand new every time (warm water, mild detergent, air dry). This time around... not so much. After two washings the color significantly faded on certain swatches of the fabric around the toes and on the straps around the heels, but no where else. More importantly though was that the velcro did not stand up to washing at all, both sides failed and the shoe would not stay strapped. Noting like having your toddler running across the yard and have her trip and fall because her shoes go flying off her feet. Despite having worn them Zappos fabulous customer service graciously took them back and refunded our money, and I am going to be looking for another brand of similar sandal to try next year. I am very disappointed and unhappy as I have loved Keens for so many years. I did call Keen about this.... suffice to say that once again, the quality of another beloved product suffers with sub-par manufacturing in China.
I'd also recommend:
Find something NOT made in China. Good luck with that.
