I have worn this style Merrell for years, and ordered this size as a gift for a friend who has long wanted these shoes but we have never seen them in wide. She wears 9½W or even EE. I ordered the 9½W and they were too big! So we are returning them and reordering the next size down hoping that will work out. If they had fit, every comment above would have been five stars. These are very favorite shoes for me.

I am returning my second pair as the two shoes don't feel like the same size. The right foot is fine, left is wider and longer. I know my feet aren't exactly the same but they aren't that different. The first pair almost fell off my feet they were so big and wide. (It was my normal size and width) I will try once more in a medium width and hope for the best.

I ordered these in black and silver mist (same size). Oddly, the black ones fit more tightly and rubbed a hot spot under my instep in just a few minutes. I almost sent them both back, but tried the silver mist just to see the color. They fit perfectly. I wore them around the house and found them to be comfortable and supportive. I sent the black ones back. Then I wore these out of the house to run errands. My feet felt oddly damp and warm---sort of clammy and unpleasant. I was very disappointed since I usually wear a shoe like this without socks. The next day I wore them out again, but with a pair of socks. The shoe felt like it would slip off each time I took a step and I found myself clenching my toes to keep them on. I could keep wearing thicker and thicker socks (not good in our climate) but I then fear the shoe will stretch out more and more. If I had not worn them outside, I would have returned them. But the deficiencies were not apparent from wearing them indoors. They became obvious when distance and time became greater. I am disappointed that a mesh-appearing shoe does NOT breathe.

I wear these shoes to work as I am on my feet all day. With all the previous pairs I ordered, the comfort was great. However, something is very different with this last pair. Because of this I continued to wear my old Breeze 2 shoes (comfortable from day 1) hoping this pair would improve if I just broke them in gradually. It didn't help. I contacted Merrell directly, but they could offer no advice, stating only that the sole was the same but the mesh upper was different. That seems to be the whole problem. The mesh upper is not comfortable. It just feels different. Don't know the solution to this! Also, I have leather clog and leather slip on and those feel just fine. Do not know what they did to the mesh upper. Sorry I can no longer sing the praises of this shoe.

I ordered these for work as an airline passenger service agent who stands on her feet for 9-10 hours a day. I wore them for about 3 hours and my arch was cramping terribly. I do not recommend these is you have a high arch/instep.

I am a nurse with plantar fasciitis who is always looking for a comfortable, supportive shoe. When I first bought these Merrells, I loved how lightweight they were. Two issues quickly arose: (a) the arch support wore down within a month or two and (b) they made my feet sweat so much! I asked some friends with these shoes, and they said the same thing about the sweating. I only wore these for about three months due to the poor support and the discomfort of hot feet for twelve hour shifts. For me, the price is too high to get such short wear from a pair of shoes.

Awkward fit for me. Size 7-1/2 is my normal size but I've lost substantial amount of weight so this may be the reason for the mis-fit.

Tan is horrible color - wish they had more colors in wide. Shoe is comfortable but doesn't look stylish.

I am a big fan of Merrell shoes but found these to be smaller and a bit narrower than others I've purchased from them in the same size in the past. I'm returning them but might purchase the next size up.

Not what I was looking for. They were so loose that using them for long shopping sprees was tiring. Better as a standing shoe.

Great shoe, but I already own an 8.5. I ordered both an 8.5 and a 9 (my regular size). The 8.5 is bigger than the 9. Both are too big.

My 76 y/o mother loves the Encore Ice so much that I bought her these Breeze 2 shoes for summer. Alas, they were too wide as she has a narrow foot (she was probably wearing thick socks with the Encore Ice). Wished they came in narrow widths! Only 3 stars because of the width issue (had to send them back).

Compared to my first pair of black mesh Merrells, this do not fit as well and flop up and down on the heel. So sad!

My first pair of Merrell shoes: Encore Breeze 2. I purchased them as a slip on light-walking shoe (to and from my workplace to our parking garage). The shoes always felt like they were going to slip off. Now, 60 days later, I turn them over and the soles are peeling off the base of the shoe like cheap re-treaded tires. My first experience with a Merrell shoe is my last. Back to Birkenstock for me.

I have worn these Merrells for years. The construction has changed and the comfort of this shoe is gone. The sole is not cushioned in the same way and my feet slide forward so that my toes hit the front even though the shoe bed is long enough. I am so disappointed that I can no longer wear these around the house. They hurt!!

Very nice looking clog, but runs small and the ledge in the heel area is annoying.

I bought a larger size planning to wear them with socks...way too big! Ordered my regular size and my foot slips out of them. Compared them to my previous pair and the back is much lower so they won't stay on. Pretty disappointing considering how comfortable these shoes are. Hope they make them the old way in the future.

If these are on sale because they are defective please, Zappo's, let us know that. Ordered and returned a silver pair because one began squeaking loudly when I walked on hard surfaces. Am now returning a blue pair because they both squeak. I love these - have had a pair for five years and still wear them. I was hoping to get more colors (esp. at sale prices!), but am giving up after this.

I had heard that Merrell was a great shoe if you needed support, but I found that the arch isn't enough for me. :(

I originally ordered in my regular size 8 1/2 but they were way too large. Re-ordered in size 8 and although the length is good, they feel a little wide in the heel and the back is much lower than older of the same style. Won't stay on my foot. I've always liked Merrell. I have MS and have trouble finding shoes that don't make my feet too hot and then swell. These work really well for me and I'm extremely disappointed in the change in sizing and the cut down of the back of the shoe. Please change and be consistent in your sizing. I'll try one more time with a different style. If they don't work, I'll have to stick with my Brooks Addiction 10's which are very comfortable but I don't like wearing every day, all day. I much prefer the ease and comfort of the Encore Breeze 2.

My problem is the width. I usually wear 9 - 9 1/2 Narrow. I thought the 8.5 M would work, but it does not. True for all three selections. Difficult to rate product when it doesn't fit.

This was my ninth pair of encore Merrell's over the past ten years and this is the first time I have been disappointed. The dark tan pair of Encore Breeze arrived with and unpleasant odor so before I wore them so I hand washed the shoes and inserts which dried discolored to what appears to be large dark oil looking spots on the outer shoe netting and the odor is still present in the inserts. Prior to ordering this pair from Zappos I also purchased another pair of Encore in black locally; which I have had no problem, but they did not have the dark tan in my size so I ordered from Zappos.

The toe area was very hard. When I put the shoe on and walked, it hurt my toes and was uncomfortable. I had to send them back.
