The design of this model is slightly differently than my first pair. But for me, it's an improvement. I have an extremely high in-step and my first pair took awhile to break in across the top. On this pair, the top met the top of my foot further down and so was more comfortable right away. My foot has been professionally measured several times and so I always shoot for an 8.5, but many times I have to go a half size larger to get the best fit for my toes. If you have wide feet at the toes, like I do, suggest you consider going a 1/2 size larger for a more comfortable toe box.

I am a big fan of Merrell shoes and have a shoe closet full of several styles; I buy "spares" when I find something that fits comfortably and looks great (chronic tender-foot). The Encore Breeze 2 is narrower through the arch which causes pressure on the outside of my left foot; that side of my foot eventually goes numb after wearing BII for 30 minutes. The original Breeze was comfortable all day long, day after day. While the shoe is still fantastic for most other women, I give this style only 4 stars because the change is significant.

When they say wide, they really meant it! I had to go back to the medium width even though my feet have gotten more spread out since I first started buying this style.

I am extremely difficult to fit, as I wear between a 6½ and a 7. These were very comfortable and lightweight, but when I walked my toes hit the tip of the shoe and were extremely uncomfortable. I had to return them. Thanks Zappos for your great customer service.

I wear between a 6.5 and a 7 and I have a horrible time buying shoes, too long or too short. These shoes were very comfortable and I was so looking forward to being able to wear them, but alas, my toes hit the end of the shoe, making them uncomfortable to walk in.

Love these shoes! I was introduced to Merrell's about a year or two ago. Being a wearer of orthotics, I was apprehensive to purchase a pair, but went ahead and took the plunge. Merrell's are so supportive, stylish and comfortable. I now am the proud owner of 4 pairs! Would highly recommend these.

Great shoe, very lightweight. Not good if you have a high arch, otherwise great for hot weather and seems well made.

Very comfortable shoe and great for people with weak ankles because it has a large heel. The reason I didn't give this shoe 5 stars is because your feet don't breathe and get very hot, sweaty and stinky. Cannot wear them on a hot day.

Very comfortable shoe. I can wear them for hours and remain quite comfortable. I was hoping they would breathe a bit more, but perhaps they will once they are broken in.

These are almost my favorite shoes. Had a very similar pair of Merrells before that had a faux-suede upper - those were my favorite. Since those are no longer available, I have had to move to these mesh shoes. Excellent for slip on and go footwear. Great with long pants, socks on or off, but they do not work with shorts or capris. These shoes last forever and are extremely comfortable to walk in. I expect I will just keep replacing them with the same shoe as long as Merrell keeps making them.

This well made slip on has served me for three years. It is washable, comfortable, stable. I had to replace it this year because the sole by my left toe began to pull away, tripping me. A friend's did the same thing. After three years of almost daily wear, I was delighted to find the same shoe online.

I live in my 'winter' Merrell's -- the leather version. However, I found these to be slightly narrower which makes wearing a light pair of socks not so comfortable. I plan to wear these without socks when the weather's a bit warmer. Overall -- great shoes!

Love these shoes! They have slight creases in them (the reason for 4 stars) so was tempted to send back, but they're so comfortable I was afraid the next pair might not feel so good. Constantly wear them around the house and can go out in them if I need to.

I have this same shoe in black in the same size that I ordered this color in and it is still too big, I cannot wear the M width in this shoe, so going to return and look for a different shoe.

I got a brown pair of these a couple years ago and love them. I wear a size 11 narrow but they were not to big for my narrow foot, especially if I wore my custom inserts. I had foot surgery and couldn't wear narrow shoes, so I got these in black. I was very disappointed because my toes kept hitting the tip of the size 11 shoe, which they do not do in my brown pair. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how bad it was until I wore them out one day. I can't wear them because my toes jam the end when walking a lot.

Basically comfortable, but not enough arch support for me and the insole could be softer for people with painful feet...like me. For the average person, I'm sure it would be a great shoe. I do wear them, but not if I have to spend many hours in them.

I love these & have 2 pair, this silver + black. These don't get all the stars because there is a defect in the manufacturing of mine: the left shoe squeaks - loudly - with each step, like something is glued together wrong.

I don't know that I love these as much as some of the other reviewers have. I've had better (especially for the price). These have very little padding without adding your own. They do run VERY large (with exception of the band over top of foot...which I find too tight once I've added padding to make foot bed more comfortable). I don't have arch problems - I have heel & ball of feet/toe problems & need CUSHION!

I bought these shoes because I wanted comfortable bumming-around shoes to take the dogs out, run to the store, etc. I hadn't intended on wearing them out and about in NYC where I live. Having said that, these are kind of dorky even for my intended usage! I purposely got black because I thought they would blend in more and not look so dorky but that isn't really the case. I'm 34 but these shoes look like they're more for someone who is 54. Is it the shoe's fault? No. But just keep that in mind if you're younger and plan on wearing these out of the house. That being said, they actually started hurting my feet after a couple of weeks of wearing them. Not chafing or anything like that but aching like there isn't enough support anywhere in the foot. Unfortunately I had gotten rid of the boxes by then (shame on me) so I couldn't return them and I'm just dealing with them. But they're kind of expensive to be wearing them just for that reason!

The only thing I don't like about these shoes is the color. They have a sparkly metallic sheen that makes the "tan" look more like gold lame, which really isn't my style.

I have worn this shoe for years and the current iteration is not nearly as comfortable as they used to be. I am not happy with it. It does not fit me well, the size I kept is too small and the next size too big.

I have had at least seven pairs of Encore Breeze in multiple colors and in the past several years have replaced the basic colors. I was so excited to find Merrells in a wide width, unfortunately the comfort was lost when they tried to make them wide. At first I slipped right in and was in Heaven. But as I tried to wear them for a full day or on a long walk they fail. There is almost no support or comfort in the footbed. I have been searching for something to make these shoes comfortable but I have not found it yet. I am bummed to say the least!

Wow! Zappos sent me a size 7 in exchange for one I had ordered for my 7.5M size foot. I owned 2 pairs of these Breeze before they became the Encore version. Unfortunately, Merrells has decided to enlarge these unlike their other styles. These are higher volume and longer than the originals when my then size 7M foot fit in length and volume a size 7M! So disappointing, Merrells, which is probably why I've only come back to this brand in desperation! Sigh.

I've had other pairs of Merrell Breeze. I literally wear them out. This pair was not comfortable, didn't feel sure about it and for $85 I have to love the shoe. I return and ordered another size.

I'm still a Merrell fan. I'll ordered a different size.
