I was so disappointed to see that Merrill had changed the design of this model. They no longer fit me well. I have 4 pair of the old style and love them.

We are going on a walking trip. Thought these would be perfect for city walking, but they were too wide, and there was no arch support, not well cushioned. I have Merrell hiking shoes that I love, and will wear those instead.

I love Merrill shoes. The only drawback is there is virtually no support. Not good if you have foot problems but to run to the store or something casual they work very well. I am not rating a 5 simply because of the lack of support

I bought this shoe about a month ago and have been pleased with it. I had bought a size 9, and it is a little baggy around my foot. The length is right though. The back that wraps around my heel was also tall and was rubbing. I put an insole in it and now if fits great. I love that I can slip them off and on.

I like the style of this shoe. However, the shoe stretched after one wear. They are already wide so my feet do not fit properly. Also, the zipper keeps getting stuck so I have to just fling the shoes off me to take them off.

These fit perfectly, and are mostly comfortable. Yet they're not exactly what I had hoped for. I wanted shoes I could throw on quickly to walk the dog, but these don't work well for that. The zipper is very hard to move up and down, so the shoes take a while to put on and take off. Also, the high back rubs my heel when walking. They do look nice, though!

I bought these as a sort of summer version of Merril's Arabesque, which are my favorite shoes. While these are fine shoes, they fall short of the Arabesque's quality. The fit is very different, too, running very wide in the forefoot. The removable shoe liner is not an orthotics insert, as it is in the Arabesque, but a poor-quality, flimsy thing. I do not find these comfortable when worn without socks, which should be an option in a mesh shoe. Overall, they are just OK. I would not buy them again. The zipper, which some reviewers have complained about, was balky to begin with but loosened with use.

Merrell should have kept the Arabesque instead of doing the stle change to Lorelei. The Lorelei has a different fit. It is much wider and hallow at the foot of the shoe (below the zipper). Thinking it was too large I ordered sizes smaller and I've had to do a return. I am hoping Merrell brings back the Arabesque style. Zappos is really great for shoe shopping!

Marketed amongst shoes appropriate for 'barefoot' running. I would say these don't quite work: they are curiously lumpy underfoot--I don't have the sensation that my entire foot is flat--even though it is cushioned, it is not really comfortable. Heel pinches, but that is slowly going away. Narrower overall than I would have liked. They look pretty cool, though.

I was really surprised by the poor quality of these shoes. The zippers barely moved up and down they were so stiff, I was afraid I was going to break them by opening and closing them. The shoes themselves were nice and light, I really wanted to like them, but they just weren't up to Merrells usual standards. They had little to no arch support, and were smaller in sizing than other Merrells I have worn. I compared them to the Merrell Jungle Moc and found them very wanting. They just seemed very poorly constructed. I was looking for a nice summer shoe and these looked like they fit the bill perfectly until I tried them on. Usually I take an 8 in Merrells but these barely fit with light socks. I was extremely disappointed that I had to send them back, but back they went. Thank goodness for Zappos return policy which made it easy to return these shoes. If you want a light pair of shoes with little support for summer wear, they may be good for you. If you are looking for the usual quality and support that you get from a pair of Merrells, skip this style and look elsewhere.

This shoe is a good try, but a miss for Merrell. Looks like it should be much more comfortable than it is. It needs softer inside material and moderate arch support. It runs large and does not look very cute on.

Same comment as the black leather ones. When are they going to make them with all black soles so I can kneel at the altar at church?

Wish I liked these as much as a previous similar style I have from them. They don't look as slim and the back of the shoe rubs against my heel too much - it's too high in the back - even with socks.

Very disappointed. The shoes are extremely wide. Only buy these if you have very wide feet. There is no way to tighten the shoe. They weren't very stylish, either. I'll be returning these.

What has happened to Merrell? The shoes that I have worn for years are uncomfortable, poorly made and inconsistent. This is my fourth pair of Merrells that I have had to return in the past year. I still have four pairs of the Barrado and let me tell you, they continue to be the most comfortable that I had ever found, even at five years old. The Lorelei actually hurt the bones along the outer edge of my feet when I wore them while walking on my treadmill. They felt like I was wearing a brick! It was not just the pain either: I was shocked at the cut of the shoe. It turns way up at the toes and lists to the outside of your foot at the top! Sorry to say goodbye Merrell, but well deserved If there were a no stars choice, I would have chosen it.

This shoe would be perfect if you did not have high instep and arches. My foot kept leaning over. Not enough support. My high instep makes zipping hard and afraid I would end up breaking it. But very stylish just not for my shape of foot.

I love the way these shoes look - but that's about it. I've worn the same size Merrell shoes for 10 years and somehow they've changed the slant of the toe space at the end of the shoe. I have mild neuropathy and I can't wear these shoes at all and my middle toe hits the bottom of the shoe causing pain - it's too late to return them, I've continued to wear them hoping they would "soften up" but, no luck. Nordstrom had them on sale so Zappos gave me their sale price, but I'll never be able to wear these shoes.

I ordered two pairs of Lorelei Zip, hoping to replace my 'Arabesques' which I loved and enjoyed wearing. The Lorelei is a baggy (if the term may be used about shoes) copy of the Arabesque, which is more stream lined. The front of the shoe is suade, which in the 'ice' color is white and will be dirty looking very soon. The shoe is very high cut and not attractive. Please bring back the old style.

I was disappointed. They were stiff and left a blister on my heel. Sorry I really wanted to like them!

I wore these shoes (with half socks to prevent any rubbing on the first outing) for less than two hours walking in town. In that time, they cut open my skin above my ankles on both feet. Fortunately, I was able to wear other shoes due to the cuts being on the high ankle. Also, heed the other reviews, the zippers really stick. I wore these around the house first and they seemed deceptively comfortable. The shoe is comfortable, if you don't mind the bleeding.
