I intend to use these shorts for swimming. I am 5'5" and 142lbs and bought the size L. They fit perfectly. I haven't used them yet but they are just what I wanted. I have an omni shield top that I swim/snorkel in and these will be perfect bottoms. They are a bit shorter than I prefer, I wish they were longer, but they will work for what I need them for.

These shorts are comfortable and very functional.

They were great on my 2 week trip to Zion National Park in mid-August (yes, the heat is just as bad as you would imagine!). These shorts were one of two pairs I brought on the trip (the other pair was Columbia's Women's Anytime Long Short in Grey). These were perfect for the trails, with large pockets and quick dry material. Great purchase if it's hot out! For sizing purposes, I am 5'11", about 145 lbs and ordered a 6. They were pretty true to size, but is designed to be a little larger and not cling.

I bought one pair a while back and LOVED them so much that I bought 3 more! I wear them everywhere in Florida because the moisture wicking is so amazing in the humidity! They are great for hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and more!

Shorts fit great. I haven't used them hiking yet but I like the small zippered pocket to put money or ID/Cards in it without fear of falling out. Other pockets are useful as well. Very comfortable when I've wore them walking around.

These shorts are my favorite. I have many pairs in different colors. I love the fit, the style and the fact that they are easy care and very durable.

These are just so comfortable and so lightweight. Love the fabric. My only wish is that there were back pockets. They dry very quickly.

I love the material of this short I live in tropical its so hot this product is great for our climate.

I purchased these shorts to wear on summer vacation where I'll be outdoors a lot in hot weather, and they are perfect. The light, quick drying material is great for humid summer days, and the elastic waistband is very comfortable. Highly recommend these shorts.

I bought these because I walk a lot. I could never find anything that is light, not binding and the right length for a woman. These are perfect and fit all my needs!!

Love the style, length and fit of these shorts. Columbia is my go-to for technical clothes and these don't disappoint! I wish the front pockets were deeper and the cargo pocket was large enough securely hold my phone.

I love these shorts!! They are so comfortable. My husband and I are going to be doing some hiking in Gatlinburg, TN and I can't wait to wear these while hiking.

These shorts are not at all restricting, dry quickly, are very comfortable

I love these shorts. I own four pairs and wear them all the time. We spend a lot of time around the water so I'll swim with them and they dry right up. The newer versions have better belts on them too so they hold better and don't loosen as much as the previous version. Overall, they are a great pair of shorts and I would highly recommend them.

These shorts look good no matter what you do. I recently bought two pairs and I am enjoying them for hiking, boating, and around town. They are a very tough, hard wearing fabric. I bought these because my old pair of these shorts is at least 12 years old and they are starting to show some wear. They are also cool in the hot Florida weather but don't show too much leg for me.

These quick-dry shorts are my favorite summer outdoor short. These are the things I've done locally this summer and have worn these shorts: amusement rides (where you get wet), kayaking in lake and river, sitting along the river on a very hot day, hiking in mountains, tubing in the river, walking on the greenway, casually biking, etc. etc. My waist in larger in proportion to my slim hips, so the stretch in the waist of these shorts is perfect.

Comfortable, practical, attractive, these shorts have it all. Whether you're going to a barbecue, going on a hike, gardening or enjoying a book and a cup of tea, you will love these shorts.

I'm an athletic trainer in the secondary school setting and I love that these shorts are length appropriate and have lots of storage. Great for wearing to games. They look professional and work well.

I love the 6 inch inseam. Makes these shorts appropriate to wear for us more "mature" gals. I love the lightweight fabric that dries very quickly if you get them wet. My only complaint is that the zipper pocket is very small. Really can only fit a key or a few folded up dollars in it.

I have had 2 pair that are over 5 years old--been hiking, kayaking, swimming and still in great shape--they dry super fast and don't cling to you when sweaty. I ordered 2 more pair, just to update the colors---wash and wear and the zipper pocket is great for keys. You won't regret this purchase!
