This shoe was purchased to provide some warmth in the cold and as an alternative to a pair of New Balance I loved but went out of production. They are large enough to accommodate orthotics and feel comfortable after a couple days of wear. The bottom tread provides good traction and I use them for exercise. They are boxy looking and lacking style, but are lightweight and feel roomy.

I love this shoe - only one thing got it a 4-star rather than a 5-star. The shoe looks good (I wear it with jeans and dress pants/suits), felt great with my orthotics immediately, no break in period needed. The toe box fits beautifully and there was no rubbing on my toes, all of which are hammer toes. The ONLY thing that doesn't feel good is when I drive, there is not enough cushion on the heel and so I feel the frame of the shoe. it is only when the back of my heel is parallel to the floor, so I put up with it. Great shoe, very happy I found them.

Very comfy. I walk for a living and these feel better than New Balance 728's. Plus they are less expensive. The shoe insert could be thicker at the ball of foot but I can live with what's there.

I ordered these shoes on a Tuesday and they arrived on a Thursday. Just in time for me to wear them as we were going out of town for a couple of days and I had inflammation on my bunion,(I have had surgery on it years ago) it was probably arthritis but anyway I was able to wear the shoes with no discomfort at all. My question is. How do I get the gift certificate to apply on my next pair? I started filling out an application but stopped when they asked for my Social Security Number. I do not give this out to anyone on the internet.

I have wide feet, but I took my chance order regular size, because I don't want feet look like a giant boat. Surprisingly, these shoes fit so comfortable and because it's black, it doesn't look too big. I have back issue, bone spur in my heels and these shoes serve me well, except they are not best looking sneakers...4 stars.

I love Zappos! I have a narrow foot and find it extremely difficult to find shoes that fit. With Zappos, I can easily return the shoes that don't fit.

This is a very comfortable walking shoe...no break-in period. I wear an 8 and ordered a nine and it was a perfect fit.

Great sneaker, just didn't fit my foot properly. Will order from Zappos again. Have been ordering from Zappos for many years.

I have a EE width, am terribly flat footed and have numerous other feel problems. I have a terrible time finding a sneaker or shoe that is comfortable and wide enough for my feet. I've always worn New Balance as they were the only ones that I could find with the width and comfort I need. This Saucony Progrid is a pleasant surprise. It is extremely comfortable and wide enough for my problem feet. I did find, however, that the arch support wasn't very good but I was able to remove the arch insert and fit my orthotics in the sneaker and that solved the support problem. I was skeptical about trying them but am glad I did!

I've been searching for a "perfect" walking shoe for a trip to Europe next month. Already an owner of a pair of comfortable white Saucony athletic shoes, I decided to try a black one (less conspicuous and a tad dressier for traveling in Europe). I zeroed in on this pair of shoes which are sleek looking, got rave reviews, and I ordered them. Right from the "get-go," they were less flexible and felt much tighter than my other shoes. I knew I would have to return them right away. Fortunately, Zappos free shipping both ways and speedy delivery has made it easy for me to return these Sauconys for a pair of Brooks shoes with mesh uppers which fit very comfortably, more lightweight, and are cheaper (nice). See my review of them. I love doing business with Zappos. Shopping is a pleasure and a breeze.

A good walking shoe. womeone said they were ugly. I don't think they are ugly. They look like purchased the widest width but they are not all that wide.

The shoe is comfortable and has really good heel padding. it runs a little short, but I couldn't order up a half size because I have a 4A heel and it would be too wide. The insert is not very good. I replaced it with a Dr. Scholl's and that raised my heel a bit and stopped the shoe from hitting the back of my heel uncomfortably.

Very comfortable. Three years ago I've a knee replacement, plus I work on my feet all day, these shoes keep me going long after the end of the work day. Just wish they came in different colors!

I am very hard to fit and to find shoes that are comfortable. I have a lot of foot problems which makes it even harder. I have been thru at least 12 pairs of shoes trying to find a comfortable one that fits. So far this is the shoe that I kept, but I am still looking for that perfect shoe that others say feel like walking on a pillow. This one fits but not as comfortable as I would like. My feet still hurt after being on them awhile. But all in all is a good shoe.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Thanks for all the great and thorough reviews that came before me! Okay, I insisted on trying about 8 different pairs of walking shoes. This is it without comparison. My aging feet are spreading even wider than ever. Keen shoes work in their regular "medium" width, but lots of highly rated others don't, including Asics and Merrill. My toes are very thankful that I bought these. And they walk well. It's not barefoot walking, but they're not heavy. There's just the right amount of support for me. I tried the Brooks Addiction, and could see why many would love those, but I like a bit more flexibility, and these have it. Kind of ugly, but no more than the other similar black walking shoes. Can't say I would buy them in any other color, even if they had them. I'm ordering a second pair as a backup, in case this style gets discontinued.

Got a full size larger; I always need a half to full size bigger in walking shoes. Very comfortable out of the box, no break in. I underpronate, have a high arch, and that sore-big-toe issue. Good for all but the toes; I just got a P4 wedge for that. Very good walking shoe for me, and a nice price. Homely, very bright white, but what can you do with essentially square feet? Former shoe was a Brooks Adrenaline, price is more and actually a bit uglier.

If you are looking for that hard to find leather walking shoe, this is it. Good support, plenty of room for an orthotic insert. If you have long toes, like me, order up 1/2 size. They are a bit square at the toe. As always, Zappos makes it all easy!

Having being dissatisfied with New Balance, I returned to Saucony to purchase my third pair. They do need some break in time, but become very comfortable. I purchased the 8N and the heel does slip, but that can be corrected with inserts. Wore on a 7 day cruise with great satisfaction.

I purchased these shoes for work, where I am up and on my feet for 3-4 hours at a time. They are pretty comfortable so far and they fit nicely on my narrow feet. I can tell that these shoes are gonna work out great for comfort once I break them in, plus they are super lightweight, I can barely tell that I am wearing them.

Overall satisfied with this shoe. I am very hard on shoes and very needy due to multiple foot surgeries and RA and I have always been satisfied with Saucony once I find my fit.

Looking for a good winter walking shoe. My regular Asics don't have a narrow leather shoe so tried these. Same great support as my Asics. They do look a bit like Medicare shoes.
