Ordered a 7, but the (7)box contained a 7 1/2. Didn't like the dull leather. The boot should have sheen as pictured and as my first identical boot is still after 4 years.

I wore these boots for less than a year. Within the first few months the soles cracked and I had them resoled by an expert cobbler. (He sort of scoffed at their low level of craftsmanship.) They scuffed at an impressive rate, and have now fallen to tatters. I like the style, but at the price I would have expected better quality.

Not the color I was expecting. Extremely disappointing and will be returning. I love the shoe and have in other colors.

I got these shoes from Nordstrom Rack for a steal. Seven months later they are so destroyed, almost to the point of being comical. My big toe sticks out of my left boot and the bottoms are visibly falling off of my right one. To be fair I did wear them a lot, but I never did any crazy hiking or anything that would cause a well made shoe to fall apart. I had another pair of these boots last year and after a few months of winter they looked really worn and cheap. Now I am just upgrading to a pair of Fryes because they are a much better investment. Moral of the story: These shoes are okay if you are not planning on wearing them much.

Ordered these and opened the box to find one of the zippers was stuck at bottom and had an opening in the zipper like it was about to run. This is my 2nd pair of Maddens I'm having to return within a week or so due to the bad zipper. Not happy. I love the boot but can't wear the boot if zipper is messed up.

I was really looking forward to having these boots. When they arrived I wasn't too happy about the color and reading the reviews about the sole cracking makes me a little uneasy and they feel a little tight for me so before it's too late I will be sending these back. I don't recommend these.

I was looking for a boot to wear every day. I got these as an early birthday present in late February, and have worn them almost every day. However, I am appalled by the quality. Within a week the toe was separating from the sole. Since I am alright with fixing small things like this, I glued it back on without complaint. I thought it was maybe how I was walking, that maybe I scraped my toe too often. Now, I do walk a lot. I walk around my campus, I walk around a lot at work, I walk around a lot in studio. But that does not excuse the soles of these shoes from developing large holes in the sole in under two months, especially for shoes that are so expensive. I do not want to have to pay to resole shoes within a year of owning them. Ever. And I now have to have the soles replaced on both shoes, which is going to be half the cost of the boots. I was hoping to at least get two years of service from these before resoling them, but I did not even come close. They are comfortable, and only took three days to break in, but I would have preferred for them to last.

I was extremely impressed with the style of these boots but highly disappointed by the quality. I tried them on for the first time and absolutely loved them, but when I went to take them off I found that an interior lining of fabric around the heel had ripped from the bottom of the shoe. I had only worn them once and this happened. As always, Zappos' customer service came to my rescue. I loved the style, but for this price they are not worth it. They will not last.

Owned a pair of these for a year...as a 13-year old girl. I wore them nearly everyday, actually wore a hole in the soles I loved them so much and my parents threw them in the trash on a hot August day they were so worn out! I got another pair but wonder if S. Madden changed factories...the new pair didn't last 3 weeks! The front of the right sole separated from the upper and the same is starting on the left now. Zappos is great and will process a refund but I am not getting these again, sadly. Love the style but fear they are no longer reliable. Will try another brand with similar look.

I ordered the Steve Madden Troopa in Brown Leather, and it was by far the most hideous pair of Steve Maddens I have ever seen. Unlike in the images, the leather is very splotchy (especially around the ankles and lower leg) and much darker in real-life. The zipper is difficult to work while on; I felt like I was going to tear the leather around it before I was finally able to take to boots off. Overall, I do not recommend this pair of boots, at least not in the Brown Leather material.

I loved these boots. LOVED THEM! But they are poorly made and virtually fell apart. The lining started to show wear and tear a little within the first month. The laces broke. The heel wore down within a few months. I consider Steve Madden more or less mid-range when it comes to quality. But even with moderate expectations, I was disappointed. They didn't even last one season! I need to buy a new pair of boots now. But this time, I am willing to spend a little more to a company with higher quality.

These boots are of the worst quality. I have had this pair for a month, and already the stitching has come undone, and just today the rubber bottom heel has come off. I am so disappointed in this expensive pair of boots. They are attractive boots but the price is pure robbery.

This product is cheap and not at all durable. Sole of shoe split simply from manually bending the toe. Otherwise fits nicely.

Unfortunately these fell apart after 2 months. Cute and comfortable. Not well made.

The fit and the size were perfect. However, I wore them to work one day...just one day! The left boot has a weird noise...almost like the heel is hollow. People notice and asked about it. I really want to return them and will check with customer service.

These smelled SO UNBELIEVABLY BAD that I had to return them. They stank like they'd been marinated in Roundup. No clue what was wrong with them. I aired them out for 2 days but still could not stand the smell.

These shoes were not good. The laces bled black dye onto my hands when I tried to lace them up. The leather on the tongue is completely rough and unfinished. Really bad shoes.

These are cheaply made. Not worth the price. They have fallen apart with casual use in just 2 months.

These look terrific. Unfortunately, the odor is unacceptable. I left the box open in a ventilated area for several days but the smell persisted. Sadly, these will have to go back.

These boots were sent in the wrong size even though I ordered the correct size. This website has been compromised by phony shoes and inept fulfillment workers.

Although these shoes claim to come in wide they do not. I've ordered two pairs from two totally different places months apart and each pair arrived Medium width. The box says wide but I could instantly tell they were narrow and sure enough, each pair had 10 M stamped on the inside. If you are looking for a wide boot, these are not it. Since I ordered them from two different websites at different times I don't think this is an issue with zappos...but a problem with Steve Madden. What a disappointment.

I ordered this pair in 11W. The box said 11W, but I couldn't even get the boots on. I checked the label on the boots and both said 11M. I called explained and had a new pair shipped to me and the exact same thing happened. Box 11W - boots 11M. I don't know if they actually carry 11W in this style of shoe or if I just had bad luck twice in a row. I gave them to my mom, she's 10M and she said they fit perfectly, so even if they were wide they probably wouldn't have fit properly.

These boots are just plain crap. Cheap leather, cheap stitching and laughably, the tongue isn’t even leather! Bought on a whim and returning because they’re just awful. I’m sticking with my Fryes.

I love the style of these boots but, for this price, I would have expected to wear them for at least a few months! I could not wear them for more than 3 months for light walking (not everyday, though!) before the heel and sole broke! I am so disappointed at Steve Madden. The boots also look very cheaply made.
