These boots are so cute! The leather is soft, and the color is exactly what it looks like online. Unfortunately, the toe box area wasn't very roomy, and the crease that forms when you walk dug into the top of my foot. I might try to go up a size, but think my feet may be too wide for this style. Wish they had worked out!

I was really surprised that this boot's so good! Originally I purchased "Jenifer Tanker Boots" by Vintage Shoe Company and "Savanna Lace Up" by Durango but despite higher price when try to wear them the best look and most important feel and comfort came from the "Troopa's" which was absolutely unexpected and great surprise! Consider that other boots 2 to 3 times higher in price! The only thing I did I spent 30$ and added extra sole; now boot's quarter inch taller looks even more cool and feels better.

This is a fantastic pair of boots. I was a little hesitant at first because of some of the comments regarding the quality of the boots being poor (such as the the sole coming off), but I bought them anyway because of the other positive reviews. Since Zappos has such amazing return/customer service, I figured I would just return them if they were bad quality (even though I hate the hassle of returning things in general). However, these boots are absolutely amazing. They really are super cute. I love them! They run slightly large; I am a true 6½when it comes to shoes (with or without regular thickness socks), but I always buy size 7 boots to make room for thicker socks. But usually even with thick socks I always have some wiggle room. I find these boots to be on the larger side; they seem to be half a size larger (a size 7 feels like a 7½). I did not exchange them because I do not mind it so much. Larger boots are fine sometimes for comfort. For reference, I have medium to slightly narrow width feet. When I first got the boots, the zipper on the left boot kept getting caught because the trim on the inside of the zipper was a little long. So I just trimmed it myself with scissors and it is perfect! I love the zipper accessory because it makes the boots so much easier to put on and take off. If you are not sure whether to get these boots or not, buy them. You seriously will not regret it.

Don't do it. I know you want to. They look so cute... And even sturdy? I bought my first pair and the manufacturer had left off the cap stop (which is a small piece of metal that keeps the tab from zipping right off the zipper.) So the zipper could not be zipped back up. I wrote letters made complaints but alas no one would exchange/return them. But I really wanted it to work...So I bought a second pair, this time through Zappos. Then yesterday (less then a month after i bought the second pair) the sole snapped in half! What a disappointment. So it comes down to them being made very poorly. Pretty, but low quality. So whats the point of buying good looking shoes if you have to toss them in a month! Not worth the money i paid twice! Fool me once yadda yadda yadda. So don't do it ladies. You'll be like me: no money, no boots.

Seriously the best boots, but the soles of the shoes are horrid! Like many others have said, my soles came apart and after that it just went downhill. I absolutely love the style of the boot and received many compliments while wearing them, but I wish the bottoms were a bit more sturdy.

Not an ideal boot if you have a high arch or a wide foot. Very stiff leather so I'm returning them instead of trying to break them in. Pressed on my instep and was a very tight fit for my foot type. Even though they didn't fit and I'm returning them, I was still impressed with the overall quality and style. I agree with other reviews that these would be great with any outfit, from dresses to pants. If you have narrow or flat feet, I'd suggest checking these out. Got another pair of Steve Madden boots (Candence) and they fit great. Thanks Zappos!

These run kind of small. I normally wear size 8 but got these in 8.5. They're a little big but definitely manageable and I didn't need to break them in which was a great plus. They didn't give me any blisters and were not painful. I was worried and skeptical about getting these because I read in a lot of reviews that the soles would fall off after only a couple wears, but I have had these for about four months now and I wear them almost every day and they are still fine!

Definitely very cute and stylish. It is a little tight across the top of my foot, but I do have a very high instep. I'm sure this will get better as I break them in!

These are awesome boots! They are very stylish and gets lots of compliments. They are great with tights and dresses.

These are great boots. They are super comfortable nd the side zipper is super convenient! I am definitely getting my money's worth. I also wanted to say that Zappos' customer support is absolutely amazing! They are so nice and helpful!

I absolutely love these! I just got them & they look so good with skinny jeans or shorts. Gives such an edgy feel with the combat boot look but keeps it girlish enough to look stylish. You can lace it up so they're tight to your leg which looks great, or you can loosen it up so the tongue hangs a little and it looks great too. They're very comfortable as well. I'm obsessed. Fits true to size. People that say they're tight need to loosen up all the laces before slipping your foot in.

These boots just looked shabby coming out of the box. I was looking for a casual boot, however these just looked like they were low quality so I returned these. The material seemed very cheap too. They were a bit on the small side as well.

These are now my favorite boots. They are styling and fit very well. Great boots for kicking around and very comfortable.

Cutest boots ever! My sister and I call this pair of the boots the HUNGER GAMES boots! Goes with everything.

I love these boots! After the reading previous reviews when originally considering these boots, I was honestly discouraged because of some of the complaints others had. I've ordered plenty of other Steve Madden shoes so I decided to just buy them. I was surprised at how soft they were in comparison to another pair of Maddens that I have purchased! Quality is amazing and they are so comfortable. The first time I wore them for about 8 hours and my feet felt fine. I definitely recommend these boots! I am considering purchasing a second pair in the cognac color.

I ordered a size 8.5. The box said it was 8.5. The actual boot was a size 9.5, clearly marked. Obviously just a mistake, but very frustrating. Free shipping is great, but it's still a long process to get the return label and ship the wrong boots back.

I waited awhile after buying these boots before writing a review because I'd read several that said the sole split or there were other problems with quality. I've had no such problems. The boots are beautifully made as far as I can see, and the leather seems high quality and very sturdy. They also smelled amazing when I first opened the box. The boots are a very feminine version of a combat boot. They have a low profile and they are narrow, which makes them impossible to mistake for men's boots. Yet they still look tough. I've been looking for a pair of boots like this for years, and I am in love with these. One note on comfort, they are narrow and the seam at the toe does irritate my feet at times. If you have a wide foot, I would not recommend these. They also run a little small, which I have found is always true with Steve Madden. Other than that -- fantastic.

I love my Steve Madden boots! I get a lot of complements from them. I wear them everywhere! They are an awesome way to boost my outfit even on a lazy day. I totally recommend them! They are a must have!

I have worn them around the house, but am saving them for a special event. I have heard some negative comments about their durability...hope they hold up for me. They weren't cheap!

Unfortunately I absolutely love these boots. They are so comfortable, but they fell apart within two weeks. They became unglued along the sole and front half of both shoes.

Great all around for fit, color, value, style. Great also for those who are creative and want a blank canvass to add studs!

Loved the boots! I was so excited to get them that I didn't notice that one of the zippers had come unstitched at the bottom until I wore them.

These shoes are really cute, but I have to agree with everyone else on the quality. They scuffed within a day and the sole is not very good quality. They are comfy and cute, but I really wish they were better quality

So these boots certainly are stylish but their lack of quality makes the price ridiculous. At the price point you could almost buy some Doc Martens that will last the rest of your life or you could save up some more and buy some Frye boots that will last and last, look even more stylish, and are loaded with history. I am disappointed that I spent my money on these. If you ask me, the side zipper looks cheesy, the leather is alright, the stitching is not meant to last. Save your money and buy something better. Or buy $20 boots, the quality will probably be about the same.
