I love these boots. I found that they run a little on the big side. I normally wear an 8 and had to get the 7.5 in these.

I've had these boots for about 6 months now and they have proved to be one of my best purchases ever! I needed something to wear on hikes and for dog walking, I do about 5 miles a day and need comfort, traction & waterproof; these boots are perfect plus they were comfortable right out of the box & they are cute!

Great all-around boot. I chose the black which I love for a variety of wearing occasions. Fits me true to size. Love Zappos.

So far - so good. I was looking for a winter hiking/walking boot. So far these keep my feet warm and dry. No slipping yet, but I will probably add yaktrax for icier conditions. They are very lightweight and easy to put on. Comfortable fit for me. I like that I can get a 10 1/2 at Zappos! For athletic shoes I need just a bit more space.

I bought these for my fussy college kid (she only likes sneakers but the school is near lots of cold and snow). She loved them - within a day they were totally comfortable. They are the perfect mix of supportive and loose enough. I took everyone's advice and ordered a 7½ even though she wears a 7 and that was a perfect fit. She likes them so much that we may get a second pair.

Very nice hiking boots that look cute also. Do not need any break-in time. I purchased and returned many pairs before finding these. They are very comfortable, light and with good arch support. They are like dream boots. Don't wait, get these. You won't regret it.

Camino tested!! I walked 800 kilometers last summer in these boots on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, made famous in the movie "The Way" with Martin Sheen, from the cold rain in the steep Pyrenees mountains in France to the hot dry meseta. I'm a redhead with ultra sensitive skin. My feet held up beautifully. While other people ended up in the hospital with blisters, and my own daughter -- in different boots -- started wearing fitness sandals because her feet were so battered, these fabulous Ahnu Montara boots (in gorgeous purple) carried me in style and comfort the entire way. I received my Compostela in August, and although it is the tradition to throw your boots in the sea when you continue on to Finisterre, I could not part with these terrific boots. They are light yet strong and worked well in downpours, thick mud, steep ascents and descents. Ahnu Montara boots were the most important piece of gear I carried. I highly, highly recommend them. On a long distance trail, boots make or break your trip. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say I wouldn't have made it without them. :) I saw many boots from many different nations on my Camino, but none as spectacular yet functional as these incredible hikers.

Pleasantly surprised. I have been searching for a pair of walking boots for winter and have given up on Keen, my formerly dependable brand. I read the reviews for Montara and decided to try once more for a comfortable fit. I had set back another Ahnu boot because the side seam hurt my foot. These seemed to be made for my foot: narrower at the heel, but with adequate toe room to avoid blisters. I also needed a high boot to accommodate an arthritic ankle. Well, I tested these at home and after four hours, they still feel light and seem to cushion my feet. Also unike other boots, the tops are cushioned and seem to bend easily when I walk. I think these will prove to be what I was looking for, light-weight but supportive. Thanks for the quick service, Zappos.

These are the best boots I've had in ages. Fit beautifully right out of the box. No adjustment period. Well made. Quality workmanship. I take either a 7.5 or an 8 and in these the 7.5 was comfortable and still roomy in the toes with heavy socks. Fun colors, too.

Best boots I have ever bought & so worth the money! I usually wear a size 7 1/2 but went to an 8 for extra room for bulkier socks & the boots fit perfect. Very comfortable, no breaking in needed. So light & flexible I can even run in them. Also has very good support. love Zappos...super fast shipment!

I found these to be great! I originally bought a half size larger because of other reviews, but returned them for a size 9 which is what I normally wear. I used medium heavy hiking socks. They were super comfortable from the beginning.

These boots might actually be the best pair of shoes that I have ever owned. I live in Boston and the winter are long and cold and wet and these boots stand up to all of that. I've worn mine for the last year and a half and during the winter I wear them almost full time, that's more than 5 continuous months of everyday wear and tear and these shows still look great! They're also super comfortable, I hardly had to break them in at all and they look cute enough to wear with my everyday college wardrobe (I own them in black). The mint colored accents are a really cute touch and I feel like they keep the shoe feminine which is sometimes not really an option when you're talking about hiking boots. I've worn them for hours at a time, both while walking and hiking and I've never gotten a blister. I usually pair them with a lightweight wool sock, but I've also worn them with gym socks and they still fit fine. These boots are a breeze to clean, I wore them while volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in the early spring and there was a lot of mud involved. I was worried that I would have to sacrifice the shoes to the cause, but when I got home I found that the mud wiped right off with a damp washcloth. Honestly I can't say enough good things about these shows, I'm genuinely considering buying a second pair just because I love them so much! Would 100% recommend them.

My 13 years old daughter chose this pair of shoes for her trip to Yosemite. I was little bit nervous as she took brand new shoes to hike without breaking them in. She came back without blisters! The other kids who bought less expansive shoes had blisters, ouch! I would highly recommend these shoes for style and comfort!

These boots are comparable to the Ahnu shoes. I like the leather, sturdy without being too stiff. Fit like other Ahnu shoes; this style would be good for people with "flat" not thick feet.

The boots are really cute for hiking. I will only be wearing these boots during the fall, not for snow and winter, as they seem to have some sort of mesh around the toe, arch and heel. I take a size 6 1/2, but with these boots I could've ordered a size 6. I won't bother returning them, but I wanted to write a review so others with small feet don't feel they have to get a size larger.

I love my new boots! They are very comfortable and light weight. Shipping only took a couple of days and they were just what I order. The only thing I'm not too sure about are the shoestrings. I will wear these boots pretty much every day and I don't know if the thin shoestrings will last as long as the boots.

I love these boots! I have plantar fasciitis and these boots are quite comfortable and give enough support to keep my feet comfortable. I walk about 1 mile to and from work so I need comfort, support and as the temperatures drop warmth. So far these are working for me.

Let me start by saying that I have a very hard time finding comfortable shoes. I have semi wide feet with narrow heels and bunions. I need a roomy toe box with a heel that isn't too wide. I was looking for a shorter boot for a motorcycle trip to the Italian Alps and Dolomites. They had to work for riding on the motorcycle, hiking and walking everywhere. They also needed to be warm for the cold mountain air but cool enough that my feet wouldn't sweat in the warmer areas and while hiking. These boots were perfect! I only had to break them in slightly. I took everyone's advice and ordered a half size larger and they fit great. They were warm and cozy and my feet stayed dry. I wore these for 12 days straight and they always felt good. I love these boots and wear constantly now. I bought the green color and they go with everything. And, I have to mention that Zappos customer service is top notch!

My daughter recommended these, she hike all over the mountains sin NH with them, said they were great, I switched from Keen because they were giving me knee problems, they never fit right. Ahnu is much better for my foot, I also have their Montara II, another great fit.

These boots are true to fit and super light. Not like my old hiking boots from 15 yrs ago. They take some time to break in, so don't plan on wearing them out of the box.

I pulled these luscious boots out of the box, slipped my feet right in, and felt like Dorothy. These beauties are the hiking equivalent of ruby red slippers. And ohhh, they are so comfortable. The toe box looks narrow, but doesn't feel narrow. I love the protective height covering my ankles. Zappos, well, the only company who has ever loved me up like you do is Keen. (Y'all must be cousins.) Thanks, Ahnu. Thanks, Zappos. Sorry, Keen. You stopped making the Oregon PCT for women and I had to jump ship. I'll miss you, but not that much now that Ahnu's stepped up for the next dance.

I am so happy with these! I have narrow feet along with a weak ankle from breaking it a few years back. These have excellent ankle and arch support,and hug my feet nicely. There is still room in the toe box if I for some reason needed to double up socks. I am a happy camper - or hiker should I say?

Nothing short of terrific. I have owned a pair of Swiss hiking boots for 25 years. No desire to make a switch but, my hiking boots were both too heavy and were very worn. I had them previously reconditioned to save them,I need to change, but fear set in. I am a major hiker. I read reviews and purchased Ahnu Montara boot. Wore them around the house and then went to Europe and hiked 50 miles. The boots are a wow! Light weight, comfortable, great support. Not one blister. I love them! Hung up my 25 year old boots on the wall, and now my Montara's are my only hiking boots!

Needed hiking boots (because I have never owned a pair) for an upcoming trip to Europe, so I settled on these. I am really pleased with the fit, feel, and style of these boots. Excited to take them on my journey and "road test" them.
