I had just ordered Birkenstock open-toe buckle sandels in this size and they fit great. Granted, I did slide the buckle to the smallest available hole but loved the fit. These on the other hand left my feet feeling as if they were swimming in the shoes. So ordered a size down with fingers crossed.

the material used for these is not what i would call quality... it is synthetic wool. polyester. it doesn't breathe or feel good. the shoe reminded me of an art project when i first received them...as if the entire thing was made out of paper... the foot bed is not suede as i am used to,but rather a material that feels like many layers of very soft smoothed out cardboard. i am guessing these are what people are calling vegan birkenstock. they are not the quality of the original suede and leather.... i suppose liking them is a matter of personal taste.

These fit well, but the uppers and the insole are synthetic. They are very hard underfoot, and not nearly as comfortable as they are cute. I am returning them as I cannot imagine wearing them for any length of time.

I have foot problems. I love the Birkenstock line. However, this shoe, for some reason, does not have the same level of support that the sandals have. It seems the arch is not as high and as solid as in the sandals, so I admit I am disappointed. I cannot wear these shoes all day without experiencing pain in my feet. The sandals, on the other hand, I can wear all day and have no foot pain. On that basis, I cannot recommend this shoe for people in my situation. I really need a good Winter shoe and wish I could figure out which shoe that would be.

Bought my usual size and had to go up a size. Runs small! Attractive, though.

Okay, this was my second try with what I had hoped would be a great shoe for shopping. First tried my usual euro size of 40 but they were way too large in the toe box. So I ordered down to a size 39. Aside from the shoe basically looking like Crocs, the inside of the toe box felt like sandpaper and scrunched my toes up a tad too much to bear for any breaking-in period. So back they went.

I lover Birkenstock and bought the wool version. There were very comfortable but I am recommending that you avoid purchasing the wool version. The wool tears easily and has worm out around the toe. The durability is terrible. I have only had them a few years and wear them inside as slippers in the winter. The soles look barely worm the the wool is terrible. My previous pair of leather Birkenstock last me over 20 years. I am very disappointed with this purchase.
