I have owned several pairs of the Nike Air Monarch and the comments about them squeaking or grunting is true; however, it all goes away if you pull up the insole and douse it with baby powder or equivalent and there are times (months) that I may have to repeat that. I love them because they are a comfortable shoe which survives two daily mile and a half walks up and down hills in Oregon. My only complaint is that after six month or so, they seem to get what I call a fatigue factor so I have to buy a new pair. At the sale price, that is probably reasonable, but I always expect more. Because I have high arches, I need to add different insoles, but that is true for every shoe that I wear, no matter what brand.

My son needed black shoes for his job. He wore dress shoes the first day and complained about how sore his feet were. I logged on to Zappos and read review until I found this pair of shoes and ordered them for him. He got them, and wore them within three days. He loves them, and says they are the most comfortable shoes he owns. The price was right too!

My husband wears this shoe because he has a very narrow foot and these fit him much better than any other tenny shoe we have found.

I am very happy with these Nike Air Monarch IV. They look and feel good. I usually wear New Balance, but like these Nike's a lot better.

This Nike Air has now replaced New Balance for me. I had worn the New Balance 620 and 622 and they were good shoes. I agree with other reviewers that the NB 623 had a thin sole and was not comfortable. I purchased both the white and black Nike Air Monarch IV and after several weeks of use am very satisfied.

Nike Air Monarch IV are the most comfortable everyday shoes I have ever owned. I have owned(worn out)several pairs and I always need a half size larger than normal. They naturally run a little on the wide side but not enough to be an issue for me.

Love the Nike Air Monarch! I can't find any other shoe that fits my size 4E width. They fit great and are "cushy" when you walk!

It's difficult to find good shoes with wide feet like mine, and I've been pleased with the Nike Air Monarch for years.

Most comfortable sneaker I've ever worn. Retail box stores never have my size or it's a big deal to order them in for me. Zappo's had them to me in 2 days and for a much better price. I'd never think of going anywhere else.Bought a pair for just walking, but have since got a pair for work. I walk 5 miles a day usually and these are the most comfortable i've ever experienced before.

Thank you -- again -- Zappos! I first tried these at a local Academy. Loved them, but the price was beyond my "footgear" budget now that I'm retired. Then found them on Zappos, where I'd shopped several times before. I was also able to browse the numerous reviews -- most supremely positive of these cloud-comfort zones. Now I wear these daily. They were here in less than a week, full guarantee that -- if they weren't "exactly" what I had expected, I'd merely ship them back at no cost. Well, they were the exact shoe I wanted. But I felt better with each step knowing I'd paid less than my local outlet's price. Like one of the reviewers, I might just order another pair in case Nike decides to discontinue the Monarch IV. They're that good! I've had recent sciatica flare ups with the radiating pain down my thigh and through my knee. These beauties have helped the situation quite a bit. They also seem very cool in this West Texas triple digit blast furnace. Oops -- almost forgot -- I have a pretty narrow foot (10.5 A or B). The Monarchs can be laced to give a nice hold on my instep and arch. Many of the tennis/training/running shoes are very wide. Back in my salad days, I used to wear those fine Converse clay court tennis shoes for extreme comfort. These Monarchs are the closest I've come to those "shoes of youth." I also put a layer of clear Kiwi shoe polish on them for easy cleaning. Don't like that liquid white stuff. Thanks Zappos.

Wanted a specific shoe, and Zappos had it. Ordered, and delivery was excellent. Product was as ordered and delivered in record time, and I will order from them again.

Hubby wears a size 14/15, and it was so nice not to have to search and travel to the mall for his sizes. Zappos will be his # 1 shopping spot from here on out. Great comfortable shoes, only kind he'll wear.

These shoes fit and feel great right out of the box. I work at Costco where there are no sit down jobs so I am on my feet over eight hours a day. I have been buying Air Monarch IIIs for years in white. They do not stay white. I finally found them in black at Zappos. Thank you, Zappos, you are my new favorite shoe store.

I ordered these shoes for my husband who has a slightly wider foot than average. He loves these shoes for their comfort and support which he needs, because he's active and sporty. This black pair is his second pair of Air Monarch IV's and he plans to get another pair in all white. Overall, I'd definitely recommend these shoes not only for comfort but for style, too.

A good fit for wide flat feet. Shoe seems flat inside which is great for me. Good weight room or casual shoes.

This is an extremely comfortable pair of shoes. I love the style, as well as the extra inch that it gives me. However, realize that these are not really an ideal pair of shoes to be using for sports. The sole is much too thick. However for hiking/walking/comfortable wear purposes, it is perfect.

These are the best tennis shoes I've ever owned. Very comfortable, wear easy and are versatile across a number of environments. I will definitely purchase again.

Comfortable and Good Looking. I like the air sole, the reflective swoosh mark (for walking after sunset) and the finger loop on the heel. I have owned at least 6 pairs of Air Monarchs (starting with the Air Monarch II). This is my third pair of Air Monarch IVs. I wear mine for walking. I walk 8-16 miles a week in them and they last about 6 months.

These are the most perfectly comfortable shoes for me - (9.5, wide 4E, very high insteps, moderately high arches, 300lbs of aching back and hips, an old fracture of the left 5th metatarsal, a torn toe cartilage resulting in a mild hammer-toe, and just a half-mile a day of walking). Not too hard to fit and please eh? In the course of my search this time I ended up ordering many other shoes pairs, and only ordered these as a last resort in case nothing else fit right. And it came down to these, with qualities the others didn't have - Perfect fit including arches, the toe box, the instep and lace length, the absolute most cushioning, high quality construction (these must be made in a different Nike factory), great lateral stability, no overheating, and easy cleaning. I guess you could actually train in these too. I know I'm training mine to do dishes, laundry and the trash.

I'm a big guy, shoes holds up very good. Great shoe for the price. wear a pair every day to work.

Awesum shoes so far. The kind of shoes fit me good because once I tie them I can put them on and take them off without untying. no complaints at all!
