So far so good. This is my third set of Monarchs. The first was great the second squeaked like all the other complaints. This is OK. What's up Nike? Did you forget about quality control?

Great shoe, very comfortable, great support, can wear it all day with no problems whatsoever. Not the most stylish shoe, and it makes a little noise when you walk, I hope the noise doesn't grow, just got the shoe and it's not bad, read other reviews that said it gets noisy, let's hope not. Overall pleased so, I bought the other two color schemes from Zappos to alternate with.

I am not a sneaker guy; however, my wife bought me the first pair of these. I have reordered 2 times. These are worn every day, everywhere. They have held up very well. Sand, long walks, snow, working on the boat, etc. I cannot speak to athletic qualities, but the shoe is a quality sneaker.

Husband loves these! He has medium to wide toes and a narrow heel, and these shoes in Wide width accommodate his toes yet do not slip off the heel. Support also seems to be good. He tried the regular width, but they are somewhat narrow/pointy in the toe box and did mot work.

The shoe is light but thick. The fit is good. There is ample padding all around, and underneath. The souls are a little stiff and don't bend, which is why it's a walking shoe, not a running shoe. If you want to push off the ball of your foot, the shoe will pull away from your heel/achilles tendon. I would've preferred the View III, but Nike doesn't make men's View III in white. Overall the shoe is acceptable.

I'm praying for a miracle with this latest purchase from Zappos! I have owned numerous pairs of this exact shoe over the last 10-12 years and invariably the shoe sole begins to squeak and make popping noises within about a year. Take note when you purchase these of the date stamped on the tongue of the shoe. This latest pair had a date stamp that was already 1 year ago. The date stamp according to Nike tells when the shoe was manufactured and they WILL NOT TAKE BACK ANY SHOE THAT IS OVER 2 YEARS OLD ACCORDING TO THAT STAMP. Because I bought these from Zappos I am praying that their one year return policy is for real. If I hear even the slightest noise from the soles of these shoes I'm sending them back ASAP. I even kept the box to return them. Honestly Nike doesn't really seem to care about the problem because these shoes have consistently had this issue for a LONG time. Buyer Beware!

This is my third pair of this model. What I like about it is the durability. Almost all leather, it lasts longer than my other Nikes that are cloth.

Very comfortable but noisy! Fix for noise is talcum powder. Take out inner sole and dust liberally with talcum powder - shake out excess - squeak gone!

Just when you find a shoe that fits well it's gone. They even fixed that annoying squeak. Oh well, the search for a comfortable work shoe goes on.

I have not worn enough, but generally I have a high arch and wide foot. Keeps my feet fairly cool, so long period of wearing they feel good. Wish Zappos or Nike had outlet stores that customized shoes to the person.

Like many others before me wrote about the annoying sound they make... If you can get past that they fit well, this is my 3rd pair this year as I walk between 3.5 to 7 miles on concrete a day. I found Zappos to be cheaper then most places this time, so they received by business and shipped quick.

Good shoes. I used them on my feet. They were loose when I tried to wear them on my hands and I couldn't tie the laces. The shoes look like the picture on the TV except they were not flat like the picture.

I like the shoes but the squeaks that come with them are BAD. Anything I can about the squeaks? Everybody knows when I am around.

I normally wear size 11 but had to get size 12.5 on these shoes. My doctor recommended these shoes to help alleviate my metatarsalgia. They were much better than all my other shoes. However, after about 3 months they began to come apart. I wrote to Zappos to let them know and to my amazement, they refunded my purchase price! So, comfortable shoes, not very long lasting but superb customer support from Zappos.

I have been wearing these shoes for years. Like the other reviews - super comfy, last a while, run a bit wide and tru to size (my 13 is a perfect fit), good for sports overall BUT get very loud after a month or two (sometimes right away) with the squeaks and farts. Dexter couldn't wear these. :)

I've been buying these shoes for quite a few years. The quality of manufacture kind of went down hill a few years ago, every pair of shoes would start squeaking after just a few days of wear. Seems like they've fixed the squeak problem. Worn them for almost a month and no sign of squeaking yet...knock on wood.

I've worn Air Monarchs for years. Overall I like the shoes. They hold up reasonably well and they're quite comfortable. I have a wide foot and wear a 4E shoe. The biggest problem with these shoes is that they develop a horrible squeak after a short while of wearing them. Seriously, these shoes are loud enough you can't sneak up on a corpse in them. I'm considering a change at this point even though I love the comfort. I have yet to own a pair of these that didn't make gosh-awful noises, and frankly I can't believe Nike has not known about it long enough to have remedied it. It's quite a lot for me to change shoe brands as I'm a creature of habit and stick with things I like. I guess I'm just tired of sounding like a car horn when I walk.

The shoe fit is true. They could give you a little longer lace with the shoe. They feel a little bulkier then other shoes I have had but still are good.

Returning this shoe as it looks like a shoe for a very large kid. Although it is the correct size, it is too bulky looking for the average size boy. It fits fine, the problem is the appearance of it.

I'm a fan of this design, I bought Monarchs II and III and they always performed great as my main sneakers - so I knew I'd be getting these when they came out. I'm still happy with them, even though the design has gotten so plain that these look a bit like institutional shoes if worn with pants. LOL And yeah, they fit a little loose, so you may wish to try a half size smaller than you usually wear. Otherwise? A good purchase. :)

Great shoe, but they squeak. Very annoying. I work at night, with a couple of co-workers, and they can hear me coming from a mile away.

I thought this show fit perfectly but after wearing it for a day or two I noticed my toes touching the front. It's fine if lace it tight, which is probably what you are supposed to do, but I just wanted a shoe for wearing around town as well. It does squeak a little as one other reviewer mentioned, but it's not loud. Overall I like the shoes, but I might buy a half size larger next time.

The Nike Air Monarch IV fit great, feels supportive and looks sharp. However, my family calls them 'squeakers' instead of sneakers. After the first few days through the first week they started to squeak when I walked. They have not stopped since. Very noisy. Not sure why?

Back in the late '90s, I worked as a massage therapist, and the Air Monarch 3s were the only shoe for being on your feet all day. Then, they changed them, and they lost the cushioning that made them so great. Well, these 4s brought it back! I'd been wearing Asics Cumulus Gel and Nike Lunarlon - lighter weight, but not as cushy, or as durable. These are heavier, but also sturdier and last longer. The new style is sweet - look less like old man shoes This is a great walking shoe, standing around shoe, and it's good at the gym. It falls into the extreme cushioning category, so runners may not like it, but it fills a niche that way too - it's neutral -it doesn't push you forward, it's neutral for pronation too. I wish they would make them look a little more dope.

I've worn these to do a LOT of walking for a handful of months, and I can concur with many of the opinions expressed regarding good comfort, good style, but very noisy. And I have a tip. DRY YOUR SHOES' INSIDES. I recently had to walk in the rain, and the creaking got much worse. Put them on my Peet shoe dryer overnight, and the creaking was GONE. It's gradually come back as sweat from my feet add trace moisture to the shoes. I imagine this has something to do with either the insole or the full-length comfort air feature. So try keeping the insides dry, see if that helps. Hoping Monarch V eliminates that design flaw.
